Captain Marvel – Every Version Ranked Throughout the Years

The 21st movie of the colossal Marvel Cinematic Universe witnessed its one of the strongest heroes, if not the strongest, in the form of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. Earning over $1 billion dollars, Captain Marvel is the latest entrant to the multitude of superheroes in the MCU, who became a big favorite for her conflicted past and her envious powers. In Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel plays a vital role in saving humanity against the Mad Titan Thanos, earning her a top spot among our favorite Marvel superheroes. But since its inception, Captain Marvel has gone through a variety of changes, from different characters donning the suit from different universes, and even, from the rival DC comics too.

Captain Marvel

As the original six Avengers of the MCU hang their capes after eleven years of protecting and avenging, let’s dive deep into the history of Captain Marvel and how they rank against each other.

Captain Marvel

Best known as Photon who is a member of the Thunderbolts, Genis-Vell didn’t have an origin story of a superhero to begin with. Created from the genetic material of the original Mar-Vell, Elysius created him to fill the void after Mar-Vell’s death, her ex-lover. With the genetic structure of Mar-Vell, an exceptionally powerful Kree warrior and Elysius, who had god-like powers, Genis-Vell’s powers knew no bounds and his hubris made him commit some horrific acts over the years. But after gaining back his sanity, Genis-Vell became a hero and took up the name Photon to be a part of the Thunderbolts.

Captain Marvel

Another offspring of Mar-Vell, Phyla-Vell is more popularly known as Martyr who has also taken up the mantle of Captain Marvel for a brief period. After the destruction and the subsequent re-creation of the universe by Genis-Vell, Phyla-Vell was the new Captain Marvel of the newly created universe. Though she has a lower cosmic awareness when compared to her brothers, Phyla-Vell helped Genis-Vell regain his sanity, post which she became Quasar.

Captain Marvel

In the most coveted Civil War storyline of Marvel it turned out that one of the best Captain Marvels was from the Krees’ archenemy, the Skrulls. Khn’nr was a shapeshifting Skrull who was bonded with Mar-Vell with DNA to give him Mar-Vell’s appearance and replicate the powerful Nega bands of Kree. Despite being a sleeper agent for the Skrulls, Mar-Vell’s memories became dominant when he was activated to support the invading Skrull army in the Civil War storyline. The dominant Mar-Vell memory along with his own sense of morality led him to support the Earth’s superhero faction against the invading Skrull army.

Mahr Vehl

Captain Marvel

In the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Mahr Vehl is the original Captain Marvel, like Mar-Vell. As a Kree spy, Mahr Vehl is stationed in Earth to aid the invading Kree army, but in turn, grows a fondness for the planet and humans. As the Kree army approaches to invade Earth, Mahr Vehl fights for Earth and ultimately dies a hero by fighting Gah Lak Tus.

Billy Mar-Vell

Captain Marvel

In the amalgam comics where DC and Marvel joined forces to create new characters by morphing two existing characters, Billy Mar-Vell becomes Captain Marvel. An amalgamation of Billy Batson and Mar-Vell, Billy Mar-Vell dons a similar suit that of Mar-Vell and has a lightning symbol on his chest. As a creation of two worlds, Billy Mar-Vell transforms into his superhero form by shouting ‘KREE’ instead of ‘SHAZAM!’.

Captain Marvel

In an alternate timeline, Noh-Varr belongs to the Kree race whose DNA is mixed with that of a cockroach which gives him insect-like powers, thanks to the avant-garde creative heads behind the creation of the character, Grant Morrison and J.G. Jones. Upon reaching Earth, Noh-Varr decides to attack the planet but instead gets overpowered and ultimately imprisoned by Norman Osborn. After the events of Secret Invasion by the Skrulls, Norman Osborn turns to a hero and frees Noh-Varr to take up the mantle of Captain Marvel. The stint is short lived as Noh-Varr becomes Marvel Boy and joins the Young Avengers.

Monica Rambeau

Captain Marvel

Before Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau took up the mantle after the death of Mar-Vell. In the recently released movie, there is a reference to the existence of this version of Captain Marvel as Monica is the daughter of Carol’s closest friend Maria. Though most of the previously existing Captain Marvels have had some connection with the Kree, Monica Rambeau has no resemblance to the Kree physiology. As Captain Marvel, she can manipulate any form of energy to create weapons out of them.

Captain Marvel

The original Captain Marvel who started it all in the Marvel Universe. As a Kree spy, he was stationed in Earth to aid the invading Kree forces. But with years, Mar-Vell grew fond of Earth and its inhabitants which led him to fight his own Kree soldier Yon-Rogg to protect Earth. On Earth, Mar-Vell is a disguised NASA scientist who specializes in Earth’s defense systems against alien races. One distinguishing factor of Mar-Vell from most superheroes is his untimely death, which didn’t happen while fighting a supervillain, but his life long battle with cancer.

Carol Danvers

Captain Marvel

After gaining her powers directly from Mar-Vell after an airplane blast, Carol was taken under the tutelage of Mar-Vell to control her powers. After the death of Mar-Vell, Carol Danvers becomes devastated and does not take up the mantle of Captain Marvel for a long time. After being persuaded by Captain America to honour Mar-Vell’s legacy by taking up the mantle, Carol ultimately becomes the best version of Captain Marvel from Ms. Marvel. Originally an air-force pilot, Danvers gains the Kree powers from Mar-Vell due to a blast. Regarded as one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, she is Earth’s one of the finest Avengers.

Billy Batson

Captain Marvel

The authentic Captain Marvel who was created long before Marvel’s Captain Marvel. Billy Batson is a child who mysteriously gains powers of Captain Marvel from a wizard. Blessed with the Wisdom of Solomon, the Strength of Hercules, the Stamina of Atlas, the Power of Zeus, the Courage of Achilles, and the Speed of Mercury, Billy Batson speaks the word SHAZAM! to transform into Captain Marvel. In later storylines, Billy’s friends are also granted the power of SHAZAM! with some additional changes. As the first Captain Marvel, his powers can rival that of Wonder Woman and Superman.

Black Panther: Danai Gurira Teases Killmonger’s Return in Sequel

Black Panther, the first black superhero movie and 18th in the line of the colossal Marvel Cinematic Universe were acclaimed universally for its diversity, inclusion, spectacular fight sequences, and soundtrack. The one thing that shone the brightest was Michael B. Jordan’s portrayal of the antagonist Killmonger. Killmonger’s focused approach and for an arguably justified goal made him a favorite among the fans. Despite its astounding success, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had a scarce of quality villains, and Killmonger was able to lift that curse, thanks to the charismatic Michael B. Jordan.

Killmonger Black Panther Danai Gurira

All good things come to an end, and unfortunately, Killmonger didn’t live to be part of the successive Black Panther sequels. But in a recent interview with Danai Gurira, who played the role of Okoye, the general of the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female special forces and his majesty, King T’Challa’s personal bodyguards, the revival of Killmonger might be happening.

Killmonger Black Panther Danai Gurira

In the interview with Variety, Danai Gurira has teasingly said

“Killmonger is coming back”.

In response, Michael B. Jordan, who was present at the interview said,

“You did it now”, adding fire to the speculation.

Killmonger Black Panther Danai Gurira

The return of Killmonger at this point of time seems a long shot, but not absolutely out of the equation. With the events which occurred in Avengers: Infinity War, there is still a possibility of bringing back Erik Killmonger, just with a simple snap of fingers.

Killmonger Black Panther Danai Gurira

After Thanos’ catastrophic move which decimated half of the living population to dust, the remaining Avengers must come up with a plan to defeat the Mad Titan, and, revive the apparently dead living population. In that pursuit, there might be an angle where Killmonger gets revived in the process too, bringing back the iconic anti-hero/villain to once again wreak havoc on the kingdom of Wakanda.

Killmonger Black Panther Danai Gurira

While this theory might seem plausible, it might not actually happen due to a very personal reason. While playing the role of Killmonger, Michael B. Jordan took a heavy emotional toll, due to the extremity of the character and the racial tension which has been quite palpable in recent times.

Killmonger Black Panther Danai Gurira

While viewers definitely enjoyed Jordan’s portrayal of Killmonger on the silver screen, it was not quite enjoyable for Jordan himself. He has admitted that the isolation of the character took a toll on him, and at times, he found himself a bit sad and depressed.

Stay tuned for Black Panther 2.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: 5 New Major Characters to Look Out for

When you thought that the Marvel juggernaut would take rest before going on a roll to break some more records, the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp puts that thought to rest. The recent star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War has left no stone unturned in decimating previously held movie records. But even before the last embers of Marvel’s magnum opus have died out, Marvel is ready with the sequel to Ant-Man, which will feature some major Marvel characters.

Ant-Man followed the story of Scott Lang, a brilliant MIT grad electrical engineer, who was jailed for robbery. In a heist to get some large score, Lang came across a specially designed suit, which was created by the legendary scientist Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man. In a twist of events, Scott Lang finds himself in jail once again, only to be rescued by Hank Pym himself. As the events unfold, Lang trains to control the suit and other ants, thus saving the day by defeating Yellowjacket.

Scott Lang also became a part of Team Captain America in the events of Captain America: Civil War, which resulted in imprisonment, once again. Surprisingly, Ant-Man was not a part of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes when Thanos attacked. The upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp will follow the events preceding Infinity War, and will hopefully shed some light on Ant-Man’s lack of involvement in the war.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is also going to be a treat for long time comic book fans, as 5 major characters will be making their debut in the film alongside the fan-favourite Luis. Here, we have compiled these major Marvel characters.

 1. Jimmy Woo

In the second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent May dropped an easter egg when her contact list had the number of Jimmy Woo. While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. sidetracked that information completely, fortunately, Ant-Man and The Wasp will be incorporating the former FBI agent who became a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Jimmy Woo will most probably monitor Scott Lang, who was put under house arrest after the events of Civil War.

Jimmy Woo has been in the comics since 1956, and his presence on the silver screen is going to make some hardcore comic-book fans quite happy. Randal Parker will be portraying the role of Woo, who is known for his comedic roles. His comedic timing will probably gel easily with the characters Scott Lang and Luis, making the movie a laughter fest. Hopefully, Parker will be able to ‘Woo’ the fans this time.

2. Bill Foster

Bill Foster made his debut in the comics back in 1966 with several alter egos like Goliath, Black Goliath and Giant-Man. As the former assistant to Hank Pym on Project Goliath, Bill Foster will be making his debut on Ant-Man and The Wasp.

As Goliath, Foster can grow to humongous size, which also grants him immense strength. In the movie, Scott Lang and his allies will probably seek his help to defeat the antagonist, or, to find a way out of the Quantum Realm. Bill Foster will be portrayed by Laurence Fishburne, who has previously worked as Perry White in Man of Steel and Justice League.

3. Sonny Burch

Sonny Burch is a recent addition to the Marvel Comics, as he made his debut back in 2003. Although Burch didn’t really live long to become a major antagonist, his connection to Cross Technology gives his movie counterpart a chance to shine. In Ant-Man, Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket dies, leaving Cross Technology in shambles. The introduction of Burch is a clever play, as he focuses once again on Pym Particles. It’s yet to be seen whether his eyes on the Pym Technology is just for the age-old corporate rivalry or for some sinister purposes.

Sonny Burch will be played by the talented Walton Goggins, who has proved his mettle numerous times in the past. With such a skilled actor in the set, it won’t be surprising to see Burch become a recurring villain in the upcoming movies too.

4. Ghost

Ghost was first introduced as a villain of Iron Man. Having access to some serious futuristic gadgets, Ghost is one of the most dangerous villains Iron Man has encountered. This time, it will be Ant-Man, who will be facing Ghost, instead of Stark.

In Ant-Man and The Wasp, Ghost will be seen in a gender swap role, as Hannah John-Kamen is cast for the role. As per the trailer, it’s also known that Ghost has the ability to phase through matter, thanks to Pym technologies.

Ghost’s real motives are quite unclear so far, but it might be related to the Quantum Realm, which can make her a great addition to Marvel’s recently found streak of great antagonists.

5. Janet Van Dyne

Contrary to popular belief, Steve Rogers is not really the founding member of The Avengers. According to the comic-books, it was Wasp, who founded The Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. And finally, she will be making her big debut in Ant-Man and The Wasp.

In the first movie, it was established that Van Dyne married Hank Pym, who later on gave birth to Hope van Dyne. In an attempt to disable a Soviet nuclear missile, van Dyne overrode her regulator, disappearing into the Quantum Realm forever. But in the upcoming sequel, Hank Pym, Scott Lang and Hope will be trying to bring her out of the Quantum Realm.

Ant-Man and The Wasp

Michelle Pfeiffer will be portraying the role of the actual first Avenger in the movie. Wasp’s return at this point of time will be crucial, as she has spent decades in the quantum realm all by herself, which must have affected her in some way or the other. And if she will actually manage to come back, where was she when Thanos attacked the planet?

8 Mind-blowing Abilities of Mysterio Which Makes Him A Worthy Adversary of Spider-Man

The friendly-neighbourhood Spider-Man is one of the most popular heroes in the Marvel Universe. But the true brilliance of a superhero comes out when he/she fights off an equally powerful antagonist. Fortunately, Spider-Man boasts of a rogue gallery which consists of some of the best super-villains from Marvel. Some of the most popular villains from the infamous rogue gallery are Doctor Octopus, Venom, Green Goblin, Carnage, Vulture, Hunter and a few more. While most of them were fortunate enough to be adapted on the silver screen, a few have been left out. But recently, the news about the trippiest adversary of Spider-Man who has stayed in the shadows will be making his debut on the silver screen. Enter, the master of illusions, Mysterio!

Being a superhuman himself, Spider-Man is endowed with insane strength, agility and his famous Spider Sense, which allows him to sense danger. On top of that, Peter Parker is a genius, who has outsmarted some of the best brains in the Marvel Universe. To challenge him, most of his foes are also endowed with some kind of super-power. This is where Mysterio stands apart. While there have been various incarnations of this lesser known antagonist, the original Mysterio, Quentin Beck is a normal human being, who uses his wits and guts to challenge Spider-Man.

Quentin Beck was originally a stunt-man, who possessed extensive knowledge regarding the special effects which is basically used to create illusions. After a failed attempt to become an actor, Quentin decides to use his illusionary skills to become a supervillain. But in the process, he is defeated by Spider-Man, which ends his career in the film industry. Seeking vengeance, Quentin decides to put all his focus on honing his skills to become one of the most challenging villains for Spider-Man. As the news of Mysterio being a part of Spiderman: Homecoming 2 is making the rounds, here we have compiled a list of powers which makes him a worthy adversary of Spider-Man.

 1. Master of Illusions

Having worked in the special effects department for a long time, Mysterio has extensive knowledge in the art of illusions and deceptions, which has allowed him to fool Spider-Man and his famous Spider Sense on numerous occasions. His mastery over illusion extends to staging deaths which can fool some of the brightest minds in the Marvel Universe.

2. Proficient in Hand-to-Hand Combat

As Quentin worked as a stunt-man for many years, his proficiency in the field of martial arts has allowed him to go one-on-one with Spider-Man and Daredevil.

3. Hypnotism

One of the abilities which make Mysterio truly dangerous is hypnotism. Being a master hypnotist, Mysterio can plant false ideas to instigate anyone. Also, he can make others believe in events which have never happened, leading to some dire consequences.

4. High-end Technology

Part of Mysterio’s abilities can be attributed to his intelligent use of robotics which helps him to fight a much more powerful Spider-Man. He uses a Plexiglas to conceal his identity, which also protects him from the hypnogens and hallucination-inducing gases which he uses. He also uses specially made robotic footwear which allows him to leap great heights and cling to walls with ease. His entire gear is fitted with instruments which deploy a variety of gases, from sleep inducing to lethal ones. He also uses Sonar for navigation, as his helmet and extensive use of mist blocks most of his vision. He also packs offensive weapons like laser beams. His suit has the ability to electrocute, in case anyone touches it.

5. Brilliant Chemist

Mysterio deploys a lot of gases to keep Spider-Man at bay. He constantly travels with an envelope of mist surrounding him, which conceals his presence. He has also created certain gases which dulls Spider-Man’s Spider Senses, making him vulnerable to attacks. His expertise in the field of chemistry has allowed him to devise a gas which can eat through Spider-Man’s webs, giving Mysterio the upper hand. His hypnogens and hallucination inducing gases makes his victims more susceptible to his hypnosis, making them slaves to his will.

6. Telekinesis

As the mantle of Mysterio is just not exclusive to Quentin Beck, another villain who uses his mutant abilities to even make things worse for Spiderman is Francis Klum. Being a mutant, Klum possesses Telekinesis, which allows him to move objects with his mental projections.

7. Limited Telepathy

Klum’s telepathic powers are a bit different from that of Professor Xavier’s as he doesn’t really control anyone’s mind. Instead, he has the ability to control others’ bodies, without controlling their minds.

8. Teleportation

Abilities of Mysterio spider-man

This single ability of Francis Klum has made him a worthy successor to Quentin Beck, the first Mysterio. Using this ability, Klum can travel long distances within a matter of seconds. Also, he can teleport other beings to his desired locations, if they come within his proximity.

Here’s “The Cable Connection” That Can Link Deadpool Franchise To Future X-Men Movies!

Deadpool is known for his crass sense of humor, mindless violence and general aversion towards rules to which a superhero must adhere to. Thankfully, Ryan Reynolds’ vision of Deadpool has been quite faithful to its comic book adaptation with its irreverent humor, gore and razing downs the fourth wall to the ground.

Despite its fun content, Deadpool has his own share of sentimentality, which was also explored in the second installment of the franchise. The biggest reason that fans were excited about Deadpool’s sequel was that Cable was thrown into the mix. He is among the most beloved anti-heroes in Marvel comics.

The director David Leitsch claimed prior to release that the chemistry between Deadpool and Cable is totally insane and we couldn’t agree more with him. Here’s what he said:

“Cable has a really interesting and complex backstory. Obviously, no film could ever encapsulate the entire backstory, so I think we’ll find the first introduction is about who this character is. When you look at the Cable and Deadpool comic book series, you see how there is banter between them. Whether they are on opposite sides or not, they are definitely formidable to each other. One is frustrating to the other. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin is amazing. It’s not unlike what you see in the Cable and Deadpool series”.

The Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld added:

“Josh is such a great actor, that’s where it starts, and gravitas, and who else really is going to hold their ground with Ryan as Wade/Deadpool. That is energy unbridled, and so you’ve gotta hold your ground. When I see the two of them I’m like “It’s comic book’s equivalent to Rush Hour, and I don’t know if comic fans are ready for it. I think it’s just great.”

In Deadpool 2, the initial big threat appears to be Cable, who has come to the present timeline to kill a certain mutant, so that his wife and daughter can survive in the future. As the movie progresses, Cable reveals that in his future timeline, his wife and daughter are killed. So in order to reverse that, he has travelled back to the past. But with this, Cable drops a massive easter egg which has a deep link with the X-Men storyline.

The tragic backstory of Cable revealed that his daughter is Hope. While this might be an unheard name for casual movie-goers, it’s a massive deal for longtime comic book fans. While the movie- Deadpool 2, smartly didn’t reveal much about Hope, in hopes of giving a proper cinematic entrance to her, we will be revealing some facts about her and how is she going to be an integral part of the X-Men universe.

Hope is not just another character in the X-Men universe. She is the adoptive daughter of Nathan Summers aka Cable, which makes her Hope Summers. Hope Summers is an Omega-level mutant in the X-Men universe, making her one of the strongest beings in the Marvel universe.

Her powers include mimicking the abilities of other mutants when in close proximity and even amplifying the abilities to some extent. Apart from that, she has the ability to kick-start the X-Gene in other mutants. She can also help other mutants to amplify their own powers, as noted by Hellion.

The biggest trump card in her possession is that she is a host to the powerful Phoenix Force, which gives her no upper limit to her abilities. Upon her birth, Cerebro, the device used by Professor Charles Xavier exploded, being unable to Hope’s massive energy signature.

Hope Summers definitely ranks among the most powerful mutants in the Marvel universe. But, it’s not her abilities which make her an important figure. First seen in X-Men: The Messiah Complex storyline, Hope was born after the events of ‘House of M’ and ‘Decimation’.

For the uninitiated, the decimation storyline follows a reality where the mutant gene is reversed to normal gene by Scarlet Witch, leading to a massive decrease in the mutant population. On top of that, the mutant gene stopped appearing altogether, almost driving the mutants into extinction. That’s when Hope was born, the first mutant to be born after the catastrophic events. As her timing was surprising, she was seen as a Messiah by the X-Men, while, Bishop and the Purifiers saw her as the Anti-Christ, who would massacre the humans, leading to a bloody war between mutants and the humans.

deadpool 2 x-men cable

As she became a target right from her birth, Cyclops entrusted his son, Cable, to protect the Messiah of the mutant race. In order to protect her, Cable travelled to the future, where he got married to a woman named Hope. But unfortunately, Hope gets killed. In order to hohonoris dead wife, Cable names the mutant child as Hope Summers.

Hope Summers is arguably one of the most interesting characters to be created in recent history. Being related to the famed Summers family tree, even though through adoption, her arcs have been compelling. The biggest mystery of Hope is her actual lineage, as till date, her biological father is yet to be revealed. Her actions have affected quite a many X-Men stories, making her a potential link-up to the future of the X-Men movies.

Since Cable’s first photo was released, he was seen with a teddy bear. It now becomes clear that it belongs to Hope Summers from the future. And the time is ripe to widen the cinematic universe, as Hope is good friends with another young mutant who recently made her debut.

Cable’s Daughter

Yes, you guessed it right. It’s Laura Kinney aka X-23, the all-new vicious Wolverine. Also, the sequel of Deadpool has set up X-Force spin-off in the future. Here’s what writer Paul Wernick has said:

“Calendar-wise, X-Force is next up in line. Drew is finishing up his movie [Bad Times at the El Royale]. Come the fall, I think he’ll turn his attention fulltime to X-Force and so that’s next up in the series. I do think we are always thinking about Deadpool. It will be nice to take a little bit of a break. We’ve been writing consecutive Deadpool drafts for the last nine years. And we’ve got drafts since 2009 in our computer all the way through to 2018. So, it will be nice to kind of catch our breath. My guess is you will see Deadpool again in his own movie. Whether we skip Deadpool 3 and just go to Deadpool 4, I’m not sure. But my guess is you will be seeing much more of Deadpool in the future in various forms and fashions.”

Rhett Reese added:

“I think what we stumbled into was a new tone, and I think we hope to have our own universe that is defined less by characters and timelines and things like that and more by tone. Deadpool 2 and X-Force and future movies all be this new, consistent, sillier tone. More self-aware tone. And edgier and rated-R tone. We want to be establishing the universe but also focusing on each individual movie and not worrying too much about building a larger threat to the world or a larger plot machination.”

Right now, Deadpool 2 is capturing Box office worldwide as it is raking in the moolah. Go and enjoy it if you still haven’t seen it. The official movie synopsis reads:

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”

Deadpool 2 Confirms [SPOILER]’s Relationship With Professor Charles Xavier

Deadpool 2 is the latest addition to the summer blockbuster list having amassed a $301 million weekend opening, leaving the universally acclaimed Avengers: Infinity War behind. With its fast-paced storyline, intense action, and irreverent humor, Deadpool has once again proved that the era of R-Rated superhero movies has just begun.

The Deadpool franchise has never really cared much for the universe building which the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been doing since a decade. Instead, the franchise uses its own Merc with a Mouth to drop various easter eggs once in a while, thanks to his breaking of the fourth wall. And it seems, Deadpool 2 just confirmed the relationship of a major X-Men character with the founder of the X-Men and Xavier’s Academy for Gifted Youngsters, Professor Charles Xavier.

Before proceeding further, be warned, this post contains some minor spoilers.

Deadpool 2 has a similar face in the movie that was last seen in X-Men: The Last Stand. Yes, we are talking about the unstoppable Cain Marko aka Juggernaut. But in X-Men: The Last Stand, Juggernaut had a very limited on-screen time and his backgrounds were completely ignored.

Deadpool 2 follows the story of Juggernaut, who is incarcerated in a prison cell. One of the side characters of movie, Firefist decides to free Juggernaut by breaking him out of the prison, so that he can murder an abusive headmaster of a home where Firefist used to live.

As the scene proceeds, Firefist and Juggernaut engage in some conversation which becomes a startling revelation for the movie-goers.

The conversation starts with Juggernaut’s iconic helmet, which protects him from psionic attacks, like the one Magneto wears most of the times. It turns out; Cain Marko wears the iconic helmet to protect himself from Professor Charles Xavier, his stepbrother.

The revelation of Juggernaut being the stepbrother of Professor Charles Xavier might be shocking for normal movie-goers, but it was established way before in the comics. Thankfully, we have the Deadpool franchise which was able to drop in this little information because neither does it care about its timeline, nor does it care about building a proper cinematic universe.

Cain Marko is the son of Kurt Marko, who becomes Charles Xavier’s stepfather when he marries Sharon Xavier after the death of her husband Brian, for which Kurt is partially responsible. Kurt Marko favors Charles and abuses his own son, Cain. Cain resents Charles and bullies him frequently. Cain Marko and his step-brother Charles serve in the US Army and are stationed in Korea. Marko finds a hidden temple dedicated to the entity Cyttorak. On entering, Marko finds and holds a huge ruby and reads the inscription on the stone aloud: “Whosoever touches this gem shall be granted the power of the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become … forevermore … a human juggernaut!” The gem channels Cyttorak’s power into Marko. The transformation causes a cave-in, and the character is buried and presumably killed, not being heard from again until a sudden assault on the X-Men’s headquarters.

Juggernaut is not a born mutant, unlike Professor Charles Xavier or various other mutants in the Marvel Universe. His immense strength comes from the entity Cyttorak, which enables him to gain all his powers. Some of his notable powers are superhuman strength to the point that he can break mountains and use skyscrapers as weapons. His superstrength also comes with extreme durability, making him invulnerable to normal physical attacks.

His extreme durability in the Juggernaut form has taken blows from the God of Thunder Thor himself, and survived. On top of that, he can create a mystical force field around him which grants him even more durability and protection from attacks he cannot perceive. He also possesses superhuman stamina which helps him not to tire even after fighting other powerful beings for a long period of time. In his Juggernaut form, he doesn’t require food, sleep, water or oxygen to survive.

deadpool 2

Even though he has so many abilities up his sleeve, the greatest power bestowed upon him is to have a nearly unstoppable momentum. Once he gets in motion, he can create havoc unless stopped by a really powerful force.

Despite his strengths, his greatest weakness is to the psionic attacks. The reason Juggernaut wears a helmet is to protect himself from mental attacks by other telepaths, mostly his stepbrother Professor Charles Xavier. On various occasions, Xavier has tricked him into removing his helmet, making himself vulnerable to his powerful telepathic powers.

Arroverse Crossover To Bring Massive DC Female Character in the Upcoming Season

In its many years of keeping the superhero drama alive, Arrow has always been a favorite show for introducing lesser-known characters in its universe. It was the success of Arrow which finally led to the inception of ‘The Flash’, which is not showing any signs of fatigue yet. From Black Canary to Arsenal, Arrow has managed to keep injecting fresh blood into the show with its exciting characters having a dark past. And this time, the character who will be making the appearance in the upcoming crossover in the seventh season is straight outta Gotham!

Last year, Arrow did something crazy which made the entire internet go wild. In October, Arrow decided to name-drop arguably the most famous character from the DC Universe; Batman. Well the name-drop didn’t technically refer to Batman, but, it was referred to the genius, billionaire, playboy Bruce Wayne from Gotham City.

As more discerning news about Oliver Queen, the mayor of Star City being the vigilante Green Arrow made the rounds, the mayor decided to fiddle with the reporters by using Bruce Wayne’s name to get himself cleared. Also, according to one of the reporters, Bruce Wayne was in Star City for some kind of deal. After confirming that The Dark Knight exists in the Arrowverse, it was only logical to introduce one of the lesser known characters from Gotham. Also, the internet would lynch the show if the show runners wouldn’t capitalize on one of the best parts of the DC Universe.

According to Stephen Amell, who plays Green Arrow on the show, the character who will be making the appearance on the next crossover event would be Batwoman from Gotham. Till now, it’s unclear how the Arrowverse will introduce Gotham, but, it’s definitely happening.

For the uninitiated, Batwoman is an important member of the enviable Bat-Family. While Batman takes the limelight for himself (literally) on most of the occasions, the other members of the family have also managed to carve a name out for them. From the Robins to Catwoman, most of the members are quite popular with the fans. But unfortunately, Batwoman has stayed away from the limelight for quite some time.

The introduction of Batwoman in the Arrowverse would be the first time she will be portrayed in the live-action format. Previously, Batwoman has been portrayed in the acclaimed animated movies by Warner Bros.

Batwoman was originally introduced back in 1956. But unfortunately, she failed to find popularity among the fans. In 2006, Batwoman gained her rightful fan-base with the introduction of Katherine ‘Kate’ Kane as the vigilante. One of the most important features which made Kate Kane popular was her sexuality. Being an openly lesbian character, Kate Kane amassed a massive fan-base as homosexuals have always been denied their basic rights. As a strong-willed woman, Kate Kane also possesses quick wits along with some badass hand-to-hand combat skills, which makes her an important part of the Bat-family.

Katherine Kane is the daughter of Colonel Jacob Kane and Captain Gabi Kane. She also had a twin sister Elizabeth Kane. Being the daughter of two high ranking officials in the armed forces, the twin daughters were always at risk of being abducted by terrorists. One day, a group of terrorists from the Religion of Crime abducted both the sisters along with their mother. But before help could arrive, Katherine witnessed the execution of both her mother and her sister, which left her traumatised forever. But soon, she joined the armed forces which she had to leave eventually because of her sexuality.

Afterwards, her father married a billionaire from Gotham which made Kate a socialite in the city. Known for her wild partying and drinking, Kate was seemingly aimless, till one day, she was saved from mugging by The Dark Knight himself. Finding the will to become a vigilante herself, Kate decided to travel the world to study while also using her newfound wealth to create weapons and suits. After her regular stints of crime fighting in Gotham, she managed to attract the attention of Nightwing, and eventually, Batman himself.

Arroverse Crossover To Bring Massive DC Female Character in the Upcoming Season

It’s yet to be seen how Arrowverse deals with the origins of Katherine Kane aka Batwoman. But nonetheless, it will be an unpredictable ride for Team Arrow, as they venture into the unchartered waters of Gotham, where the heroes are as dangerous as the villains.

Arrow: 8 Questions Which Were Left Unanswered After the Season 6 Finale

Since the first season aired on CW network, Arrow has always found itself into conversations pertaining to superhero shows. But after the universally acclaimed second season, the writing of the show has been going downhill. Surprisingly, the showrunners seem to have finally paid heed to the fans over the internet to restore the show to its former glory, and the sincerity is finally paying off. The Season 6 of Arrow has been a roller-coaster ride, with some unexpected twists, brilliant storytelling, and a major death which is going to be permanent. The season finale of Arrow spiked up the adrenaline in the disgruntled viewers, who were frustrated with the melodrama and mediocre writing. As the brilliant season comes to an end with a thrilling finale, some questions have been raised which will be answered in the upcoming seventh season.

Is Team Arrow going back to crime-fighting once again?

The sixth season of Arrow has managed to stay grounded for the most parts. This season, Agent Samanda Watson gave her all to reveal the Green Arrow’s secret identity. Upon finding the name behind the mask, Agent Watson struck a deal with Oliver Queen. Team Arrow gets full immunity if they are able to catch the bid baddie of the show, Ricardo Diaz. But unfortunately, a series of emotional events led Diaz to slip away from justice.

The part of the deal also consisted of Oliver Queen behind the bars of a supermax federal prison, which means he can’t protect Team Arrow if Agent Watson decides to go rogue. Also, the deal was not completed on Team Arrow’s part, as Diaz was able to slip away. So, what happens to Team Arrow? Are they going to get full immunity and go back to their crime-fighting days? Or something sinister is going to happen to them?

What’s next for Ricardo Diaz?

The antagonist for the sixth season, Ricardo Diaz has been one of the best parts of the season. His ruthlessness and witty plans have always managed to keep Team Arrow on their toes. But in the season finale, Diaz was hit by a sonic scream produced by Laurel/Black Siren. While the team though Diaz fell to his death, it was revealed that Diaz was alive and keeping an eye on Oliver Queen from his lair, with eyes full of rage and vengeance.

It’s pretty much confirmed that Ricardo Diaz will be making his appearance soon enough. But what exactly is left for him? Team Arrow might not have been able to kill him, but they managed to find all his secret contacts and bust his illegal activities, leaving him no chance to have an upper hand on them. So, what’s next for him? How is he going to exact his revenge and wreak havoc on Star City?

Will we get to see ‘Green Arrow: Escape from Super Max’?

As Agent Watson was finally able to join the dots and decipher the man behind the green costume, Oliver Queen headed straight towards the Super Max federal prison. For long time comic book fans, this might ring some bells as a movie was once planned ‘Green Arrow: Escape from Super Max’, where Green Arrow finds himself behind bars of the Super Max Prison for a crime he didn’t commit. His prison mates included most of the villains he had put behind the bars.

It will be quite bold for the showrunners to continue an entire season where the main protagonist is behind bars, leaving Star City unguarded. But, we might get a short glimpse of Green Arrow striking up unexpected alliances to break out from the Super Max.

What’s next for Laurel?

The death of the real Laurel had left a lot of fans with teary-eyed. But as with most superhero shows, the deaths aren’t really permanent in Arrow. The showrunners decided to get back Laurel, but this time, from Earth-2. The doppelganger of the real Laurel turned out to be somewhat evil, wreaking havoc everywhere. But fortunately, the real Quentin Lance cared for her and hoped that she would one day become a real hero.

But sadly, a quick turn of events led to Quentin’s death and it must have had a huge impact on Laurel, as the bullet which was meant for her was taken by Quentin. So, what’s in store for Laurel? Does the guilt of not being able to save Quentin turn her into a superhero? Or, does she decide to take down the dark road?

How is Star City going to react to the big revelation?

Despite having a major character death in the sixth season, the highest point still goes to Oliver Queen coming out with his alter ego. Stephen Amell had confirmed that Arrow was going to have its Iron Man moment where Tony Stark reveals to the world that he is Iron Man. But what are the repercussions for Star City itself?

How exactly is Oliver Queen getting out of the Super Max?

The finale has definitely set the tempo for the seventh season. With Oliver behind the bars, the showrunners can’t really ignore the event and move on. But then, how exactly is Oliver Queen getting out of the Super Max? Is it going to be a prison break, or, is the government going to intervene and let him walk scot-free, thanks to the return of Ricardo Diaz and other supervillains?

Is Roy Harper returning?

With Oliver behind the bars, the one good thing which came out of it was that it opened up the chance to get back the fan favorite Roy Harper. Roy Harper was last seen going out with Thea to destroy three recently discovered Lazarus Pits. After that, there has been no chance to get him back.

But now, as Oliver has taken full responsibility, Roy Harper’s name will get cleared. As the main player is out of the game for a while, Team Arrow will definitely need assistance from another prodigal archer.

Is the Flash’s season finale going to affect Arrow?

The upcoming season finale of the Flash has a lot of things on stake. This season’s main antagonist, The Thinker has decided to wipe out all the intelligence and emotions, in order to start over once again. The megalomaniac has decided to let the population find enlightenment under his guidance, once he succeeds with his plans.

flash green arrow Season 6 Finale

But, as the two shows are inter-linked and are present in the same universe, there must be some repercussions of the events happening in The Flash. It’s highly unlikely that the showrunners of Flash will be bold enough to let the villain win. But what happens if The Enlightenment actually takes place? Will the event let Oliver escape from the Super Max? If you are unaware, The Enlightenment also affects technology.

Arrow Season 6 Finale: [SPOILER]’s Death Is Permanent

Since its first season, Arrow has always been following a pattern to bring a season to an end. No matter how powerful the bad guy, or, how insurmountable the odds are, Arrow has always managed to wrap up a season with defeating the bad guy while managing to bring the team together. After two explosive seasons from the beginning, the writing has been a mere shadow of the past. With weak villains, sloppy writing and a lack of surprise element, Arrow has been going downhill ever since. So this time, in order to keep the fans hooked for the upcoming seventh season, the sixth season finale finally managed to break the pattern of having a happy ending. Instead of being able to regroup and defeat the villain without any major casualty, the Arrow season 6 finale actually managed to surprise the fans.

Arrow’s season six has been surprisingly better than its predecessors. While the sixth season lacked the gravitas of powerful antagonist like Prometheus, the writing has been quite decent. The sixth season had its usual dose of drama, but, it also raised the stakes for real this time. This time, the most important part of any vigilante was put on the line; his/her secret identity. In the season sixth finale ‘Life Sentence’, Team Arrow managed to get just one part right. They defeated the big bad villain Ricardo Diaz, barely.

The season finale forced Oliver Queen to trade his alter ego for the big bad of the season, Ricardo Diaz. His deal also provided full immunity to his team members while putting himself in a supermax federal prison. Oliver’s deal with Agent Samanda Watson and the FBI helped him to drive out the gangsters out of Star City, take down Diaz’s personal army and procure the list of all the undercover agents working for Diaz. But in a turn of events, Diaz manages to survive, thanks to a failed murder attempt by Black Siren. The botched attempt allowed Diaz to leave the city unharmed.

The season finale also made Oliver make amends with Dinah, Rene and Diggle, and also managed to salvage the season from the horrible written episode ‘Collision Course’, where Arrow goes up against Dinah and Curtis. But the major part of the season finale was the tearful farewell to one of the oldest and most beloved characters of the show.

The climax of the season finale had some rough events which was shocking for the fans. In the climactic battle, Quentin Lance, one of the oldest characters of the show took a bullet to save his daughter Laurel from Earth-2. Previously, bullet wounds on major characters were brushed aside to help the characters sail through to the next adventures. But unfortunately, the bullet wound for Quentin Lance ended up being fatal. Quentin succumbs to his injuries in the hospital, as he had a seizure during the operation. The final moments were tearful for the fans as Oliver had his last chat with Quentin.

Before Quentin expired, Oliver had the chance to express his gratitude to him for being the father who he never had. Oliver lets Quentin know that he learned to become a father by watching him, and not his own biological father. The late arrival of Sara Lance, the real daughter of Quentin was another emotional moment for the fans, though the event seemed a bit forceful as Sara had access to a time machine.

Arrow season 6 finale

Despite the death of a major character, the most shocking part of the finale is Oliver’s decision to trade his alter ego and finding himself behind the bars of a supermax federal prison. While Arrow has been quite notorious to evade major events to restore the status quo, this time, the show can actually achieve its former glory if it decides to follow on the imprisonment of its lead protagonist. While it’s obvious that Arrow will definitely restore Oliver Queen as the Emerald Archer, but it would be interesting to see how he manages to find his freedom once again. On top of that, now that Oliver Queen’s alter ego is out in the public, all crosshairs are now on his closed ones. With his secret identity out in the open, Arrow just became public enemy number one.

Marvel To Introduce ‘New and Surprising’ Characters After Avengers 4

It’s been a decade since the first Iron Man movie was released. Since then, it has been one man and his vision which has finally led us to Avengers Infinity War, the epic showdown between Mad Titan Thanos and Avengers assemble as part of the unstoppable juggernaut named Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the biggest brand in Hollywood as it has collected over $15 Billion in Box office collections worldwide with 19 movies that make MCU the most profitable franchise of all times.

Since 2008, the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us numerous characters that will always remain with us for years to come. Starting from the major heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye to minor characters like Valkyrie and Korg, it has been a memorable journey for the ardent fans of Marvel. Even the people who had previously never touched a comic book have become believers in the force of nature that is Marvel.

The magnum opus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War was an amalgamation of the all the major and minor characters that had been introduced in the span of ten years. Avengers: Infinity War’s grandeur was something to cherish for years to come. The untitled Avengers movie will conclude the decade-long inter-connected stories of the original Avengers and also the big bad antagonist Thanos.

Towards the end, the Infinity War credits said “Thanos will return”, while fans believe so will the heroes who turned into ash. But we ain’t seen nothing yet; so how grand is Avengers 4 going to be? Here’s what Infinity War writers have said:

Markus – “[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is. Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief”.

McFeely – “Put it this way. I think [Infinity War] is a fairly mature movie for a blockbuster. It’s got a lot of fun in it, obviously, but boy, it gets very mature. The second one is also mature. We’re going to own these choices, and hopefully surprise and delight you and get you invested. It’s by the same studio, the same filmmaking team. They were written at the same time, shot at the same time. They’re clearly connected, but they are definitely two different movies, one of which is dependent on what happened previously”.

Kevin Feige has been surprisingly quiet about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of the untitled Avengers 4. Here’s what he has said till now:

“Well, all I’ll say is the films we are working on now — which take us through to the Avengers Untitled in May of ’19 — that’s really all we are focusing on. And we are focusing on bringing, by that point, an unprecedented, 22-movie, continuous shared fictional narrative to a conclusion in a satisfying way.”

“Marvel Studios has a new direction filled with “good stories” beyond Phase 3. How we start anew and wherever we go beyond that is a story for another time. This is really about 10 years on, bringing something to a head in a satisfying and unexpected way.”

But it has been reported that Feige has already planned 20 more movies after the completion of Phase three, which means there won’t be a dearth of superhero movies for the foreseeable future. On top of that, the contract of some major actors who have been integral to the legacy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end, which means fans will definitely get to see a lot of fresh blood injected into the universe.

The contracts of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are reported to actually come to an end after Avengers 4. While RDJ has been linked with his Team Downey Banner which will be creating a movie on Dr. Dolittle, he might hang up his cape sooner than imagined. He has categorically stated that he will not be reprising the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man in Iron Man 4. It’s time for him to move on before it becomes too embarrassing.

Chris Evans has been quite vocal about his contract and has found a new interest in directing rather than acting. Other A-Listers like Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth have shown no interest to leave the franchise anytime soon, which means we will definitely get more Hulk and Thor brotherhood in the upcoming movies.

There have been reports that Scarlett Johansson has shot some scenes with Brie Larsson in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie.

Also, there has been some progress in the much awaited Black Widow movie. While Johansson’s contract is yet to expire, she might leave the franchise after her solo movie(s). Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, who play the roles of Winter Soldier and Falcon respectively, are here to stay for quite some time, according to their statements. The newly introduced Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen are definitely staying for years to come.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been gradually trying to shift itself to the cosmic level, since its inception in 2008. With James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers 4, Captain Marvel, it is quite evident that the heroes will soon be fighting with more inter-dimensional threats rather than terrestrial ones.

James Gunn, the writer-director of GOTG series is of the opinion that Vol. 3 will shape the MCU for the next 10 years. Here’s what he said:

“One of the things I’m doing with creating Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it will take place after the next two Avengers movies, and it will help to set up the next 10, 20 years of Marvel movies. It’s going to really expand the cosmic universe. We’re going to be setting up new characters. It will be the last movie of this version of Guardians of the Galaxy.”

According to Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore, there will be some exciting new characters who will be introduced along the way.

I think it’s an opportunity for us to bid a fond farewell to characters that we’ve come to know for a while,” Moore told Screen Rant,

“But to also then introduce characters who are going to feel completely new and hopefully surprising to both our core fans and fans of our movies who aren’t as well-versed in publishing.”

“There are great ideas out there that we’ve talked about internally that I think and I hope will be surprising and refreshing to audiences while we still continue to explore characters we’ve come to love,” he continued. “The new ones always feel really exciting because they can be anything. We’re at the point now where we’re blue-skying, what are the best stories to tell, and in that blue sky there are ideas that I think all of us get really excited to share with people.”

Marvel Characters After Avengers 4

According to President Kevin Feige, Captain Marvel is the most powerful superhero in the MCU. She will carry the weight of entire MCU for the next five years as she will likely lead ‘New Avengers’ in Phase 4.

Also, Marvel has been seriously considering to make a movie on Kamala Khan aka another Ms. Marvel, right after Carol Danvers has been introduced on the silver screen. Having a Muslim superhero would do wonders for the studio as it would further increase the diversity in the superhero industry, which has been well received and was reflected perfectly in Marvel’s Black Panther and DCEU’s Wonder Woman. Further, a movie on Jack Kirby’s Eternals has also been confirmed by the Fiege himself. The Eternals movie is reported to be in early development.

Kudos to Marvel Studios for bringing world-class comic-book entertainment to our doorsteps. All the best for everything to come. CHEERS!

10 Abilities of Cable Which Makes Him A True Badass

Deadpool 2 has finally hit the theatres with rave reviews. With multiple praises towards the irreverent humor, action and acting chops from Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 2 is all set to rock the summer blockbuster season. Fans and critics have particularly praised the character of Cable, played by Josh Brolin, who recently cured Marvel’s villain plague with his portrayal of Thanos.

The introduction of Cable is quite interesting as he is quite deeply connected to the X-Men than you have thought. Cable is technically the son of Scott Summers and Jean Grey. The focus should be on the word technically as Jean Grey is not the biological mother of Cable. After the apparent death of Jean Grey, Scott Summers aka Cyclops falls into the vicious cycle of depression. But during that period, he meets Madelyn Pryor, who looks exactly like Jean Grey. After being romantically linked with her, they have a son who goes by the name of Nathan Christopher Charles Summers aka Cable. But just after his birth, Apocalypse arrives to infect him with a techno-organic virus which is incurable. In order to survive, an infant Nathan Summers is taken to the future by Aksani, where he is trained to be a warrior while trying to find a cure for his disease.

The history of Cable is definitely mind-numbing, but what’s more interesting is his wide array of powers which makes him a force to reckon with. Here, we have compiled his 10 abilities which make him a true badass.

At this point of time, it would be surprising to see any mutant without the power of telepathy. But what makes Cable stand out is his command over this particular power. His telepathic powers are so powerful that he once created a utopia on Earth by controlling everyone’s minds at once. If that doesn’t impress you, here’s another instance of his vast telepathic powers. Cable has successfully managed to resist mind-control of Professor Charles Xavier, Jean Grey and Marvel Girl, who are considered as top telepaths in the Marvel Universe. Cable can also project bolts of mental energy which can render people unconscious for a while. If necessary, the bolts can be powerful enough to even kill sentient beings.

Like telepathy, Cable has mastered the art of telekinesis too. His telekinesis powers grant him the ability to disassemble huge objects with ease and also the ability to assemble minute things in a matter of seconds. His prowess over telekinesis has granted him the ability to even control electrons and manipulate the atomic structure of devices. He can also lift massive weights quite easily. His telekinetic powers also help him to create a protective barrier against him and his allies during battles.

As Cable is affected by the techno-organic virus which slowly converts his flesh into technology, he is blessed with super-strength which is far superior to most superheroes. His super-strength has allowed him to go toe-to-toe with the Hulk, as well as to defeat Red Hulk, Iron Man and Falcon single handedly.

Superhuman Endurance

The techno-organic virus planted by Apocalypse has always restricted Cable to use his powers at their full potential. The constant pain of flesh turning into metal is a terrible ordeal which requires a superhuman level of endurance. On top of that, Cable has managed to take direct blows from the Hulk and still survive, while battling the virus simultaneously. His endurance doesn’t just limits to physical levels. His mental endurance has allowed him to fight and run at peak performance for several hours before visible signs of fatigue start to show. Cable can also continue tasks with minimal amounts to no sleep at all.

Superhuman Senses

While Cable’s senses are nowhere near Daredevil’s or Spiderman’s, they are quite formidable. Cable has the ability to spot speedsters at their peak performance levels. His cybernetic eye grants him the ability to see a wider range of the electromagnetic spectrum, granting him the ability to spot psionic energies and other exotic spectra of the spectrum.

Master in Hand-to-Hand Combat

Being trained to become a warrior, Cable has mastery over the martial arts. His proficiency has allowed him to defeat Captain America, one of the greatest hand-to-hand fighters in the Marvel Universe. He has also fought Wolverine to stalemate, which speaks volumes about his prowess in the field of martial arts.

Latent Time Travel Ability

Cable has shown this peculiar ability to send his consciousness back and forth in time to thwart catastrophic threats. In Legion Quest storyline, Professor Xavier’s son Legion travels back in time to kill Magneto. To assist him, Professor X sends Cable’s consciousness back in time, with the help of Jean Grey.

Though this ability is rarely used by Cable, it is one powerful weapon in his arsenal. In Avengers: X-Sanction, Cable has the ability to see multiple events in the future before they unfold, thanks to the future Hope Summers tampering with his mind.

Futuristic Gadgets

Not exactly being a superpower, this one makes the list because no one else has got them. As an infant Cable was sent two thousand years into the future with the Aksani tribe, he trained with some highly futuristic gadgets. As he comes back to the present day timeline, he brings his gadgets and weapons with him, which gives him a superior edge over his opponents. One such weapon is the Psi-Mittar, a long staff with a spear pointed at one of its end, which amplifies the telepathic and telekinesis powers and transforms them into deadly beams. Also, his techno-organic virus grants him the ability to use his mechanized body to hack into computers with ease. His body can also create razor sharp weapons at will, thanks to the techno-organic virus.

Genius Intellect

As Cable was taken into the future, he studied futuristic science and technology which was well beyond the scope of 21st century. His proficiency in studies has allowed him to gain an intellect equivalent to Reed Richards, the smartest man in the Marvel Universe. Apart from that, Cable also possesses quick wits, which helped him to defeat The Avengers single-handedly.

List of All The Canceled DC and Marvel TV Shows In 2018

In recent years, the increase in the number of TV shows pertaining to superheroes has been colossal, to say the least. Having some brilliant shows like Netflix’s Daredevil to ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. the superheroes have started their dominance on the TV industry. The future of a lot of shows will be determined at this time of the year, as most show premiere in early September/October.

The fate of a few beloved series has already been decided by the broadcasters. While a few of them have faced the brunt of the axe, the others have managed to get past the dreadful decisions for a renewal. Here, we have a list of all the canceled TV shows of both the comic book giants DC and Marvel.

Apart from them, we also have a few shows which are yet to face the decision of the broadcasters.

The much-beloved superhero series adapted from Neil Gaiman and Mike Carey’s run on DC/Vertigo faced the short end of the stick as Fox decided to cancel it after three successful seasons.

Lucifer follows the story of the actual Lucifer Morningstar aka The Devil, who renounces lordship of Hell as he is bored with it. In a stint to regain the excitement, Lucifer decides to come to Earth and play by the rules, mostly. In an interesting turn of events, Lucifer finds himself trapped in a murder case, and, subsequently finds himself as a consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Tom Ellis portrays the titular character.

Fox’s sudden decision to cancel the beloved supernatural drama which had an overwhelming response in its first season is shocking. Some reports have said that Fox had to cancel the series as its growing popularity affected some of the veteran series on the network.

Upon closer inspection, it has been revealed that FOX has been trying to distance itself from the non-Fox studio properties with the impending Fox-Disney merger. The cancellation of the series also came at a bad time, as the third season ended on a cliffhanger, leaving the fans frustrated.

Tom Ellis, the lead actor of the series had started a campaign on Twitter to save the series, urging rival broadcasters like Hulu and CW to pick it up. There’s a little hope for the series since another fan-loved cop-drama series Brooklyn 99 was recently picked up by NBC after it was canceled by Fox.

Marvel’s Inhumans

Inhumans was originally planned to be incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and be portrayed on the silver screen. But instead, they were sent to the TV arena, alongside the massively successful Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which airs on ABC network.

The show primarily focuses on The Royal Family of Inhumans, who has decided to come to Earth after a military coup in their homeland, Attilan. The show had some well-known names like Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, and Iwan Rheon, who played the role of Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones.

The Inhumans revolved mostly around the royal family consisting of Blackbolt, Medusa, Maximus the Mad and a few other characters. But surprisingly, the series was a massive failure. To lend some support, Disney had even released the first two episodes in IMAX, but it fell flat on its face as the animated movie Batman: The Killing Joke earned more in domestic markets than Inhuman’s entire run. Having a dismal rating of just 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, the cancellation of the series is not really surprising.

As if Fox didn’t have enough petitions against it already, it decided to go ahead and end another spectacular series. Gotham has a middle ground, as it is not exactly canceled like other shows. But, Fox has decided to end the successful series with a short fifth season after the completion of its fourth season on the network.

Gotham follows one of the best-known allies of Batman, Detective Jim Gordon in his initial days in the Gotham City Police Department. The show started off quite slowly but has since then managed to amass a huge number of fans, thanks to its tight script writing and some brilliant acting. Detective Jim Gordon is portrayed by Ben McKenzie, who is partnered with Detective Harvey Bullock, who is played by Donal Logue.

The show also follows the story of a young Bruce Wayne, who witnesses the death of his parents in Crime Alley, and the subsequent events which will eventually make him the greatest crime fighter on Earth. The show has garnered overwhelming reception because of a variety of villains, who will eventually make it to the famed Rogue Gallery of Batman.

There is no dearth of villains as the show has got some well-known villains like The Riddler, Poison Ivy, The Mad Hatter, The Court of Owls. Also, the show has got the potential love interest of The Dark Knight himself, Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, who helps the young hero find his rooting in a crime-ridden city like Gotham. Sean Pertwee plays the iconic character of the loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, who is inspired by the Earth-One version of Batman.

The fifth and the final season will air in 2019 summer, which makes it more frustrating for the fans as they have to wait for almost a year for the epic conclusion to the chapter of a young Bruce Wayne in his journey to become The Dark Knight.

The latest DC project on the SYFY network hasn’t yet renewed itself for the second season. Having David S. Goyer at its helm, Krypton is currently the second most-watched TV series on the network.

Krypton is a prelude to Kal-El aka Superman’s dynasty. The show primarily focuses on Kal-El’s grandfather Seg-El, the brilliant scion of the House of El, or more popularly known as Superman’s dynasty. Seg-El is a brilliant young Kryptonian who fights to restore the tarnished name of ‘House of El’.

Seg-El is the main character in the TV series Krypton, portrayed by Cameron Cuffe as Superman’s grandfather and Jor-El’s father. As a child, he and his family were stripped of their family name by the Council of Krypton when his grandfather, Val-El, was sentenced to death for constructing his Fortress of Solitude to research alien life and threats. Seg-El, along with his parents, Ter-El and Charys-El, were forced to live in the slums of Kandor.

Now in his 20s, he stops a Black Zero terrorist attack and is rewarded with the chance to join the Science Council and even betrothed to Nyssa-Vex. He secretly has a relationship with Lyta-Zod, the daughter of Krypton’s chief military guard Jayna-Zod. Seg-El meets Adam Strange, a time traveller from Earth who travelled to the past to warn Seg about Brainiac who plans to destroy Krypton before Superman was born.

The storyline is quite fascinating as it explores the relationship between Seg-El and Jayna-Zod. In this version, Seg-El fathers General Zod, one of the well-known enemies of Superman. But also, Seg-El is the father of Jor-El, which makes General Zod and Jor-El to be half-brothers. Interestingly, it also makes Zod as the uncle of our beloved Kal-El.

List of All The Renewed Marvel And DC TV Shows

It’s that time of the year! The time where some hearts break and others rejoice. Yep, it’s the time when the fate of most TV shows is decided by the broadcasters. With a massive increase in the number of superhero TV shows, there has also been a gradual rise in the viewership and the fanbase of these shows. But that hasn’t exactly reflected in the broadcasters’ decisions to cancel or renew some much-beloved shows. While fan-loved shows like Lucifer faced the brunt of the axe, mediocre shows have managed to please the broadcasters for another season. Here, we have the list of all the renewed Marvel and DC TV shows which managed to get past this dreadful time of the year.

The Flash

The Flash is currently in its fourth season and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. After its spectacular first season, The Flash showed some signs of fatigue as the writing went a bit downhill with each season. From more melodrama to cheesy one-liners, The Flash has been dealing with poor writing for a while. But still, there’s a lot of potential from the series and the broadcasters have decided to exploit it in the renewed fifth season.

CW’s flagship superhero show Arrow has been dealing with mediocre writing since its third season. While Arrow had some strokes of brilliance in a few episodes, the former grit of the show is nowhere to be found. The introduction of Prometheus was definitely one of the best moments in recent history of the show. Having said that, the producers have promised the disgruntled viewers that Arrow will return for its seventh season with the same grit and violence for which it became famous at first place. To take it a notch further, the show will also have Beth Schwartz as its new showrunner.

This DC property has always managed to keep itself on the radar, thanks to its loyal fanbase. The show started off with an interesting take on the zombie folklore and has recently turned into a socio-political drama. Being renewed for a fifth season, the undead seems to walk on.

Supergirl is one of those shows which have a polarizing fanbase. Either you adore the show or you absolutely detest it. Despite having some negative reviews for its over-the-top dialogues and overall light background, Supergirl has always managed to make a name for it. Having the gorgeous Melissa Benoist playing the titular superhero, cousin to the Man of Steel himself, Supergirl has been renewed for a third season.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This one should not be least bit surprising. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which is broadcasted on the ABC network is arguably one of the best superhero shows on TV right now. Having a tightly written script along with spectacular acting chops from all the actors involved, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has managed to amass a massive fanbase over the years. While there were some speculations that the show might not get renewed for a sixth season, ABC has finally confirmed that the Agents will definitely make a comeback.

Legends of Tomorrow

Legends of Tomorrow didn’t have the ideal start for a superhero TV show. Badly written plot, too many characters and forced humor plagued the show for most of its debut season. But slowly, the show has managed to get right back on track by getting all the points checked. Currently, in its third season, Legends of Tomorrow is one of the hottest shows on the network with its witty humor and some serious action. Now, the Legends have managed to get the much loved Constantine on board and getting a renewal for the fourth season must have been a mere formality.

Black Lightning

The highly acclaimed DC TV show which airs on the CW network has managed to get a renewal for its second season. After having a spectacular first season, Black Lightning was bound to be renewed for its next season. But how long before this African-American hero becomes a part of the CW superhero roster?

The Gifted

This X-Men saga airs on the Fox network and has managed to get itself renewed for a second season. Set in an alternate timeline where the X-Men have disappeared, The Gifted revolves around a group of teenagers who have mutant abilities. Having received positive reviews for its first season, The Gifted is one of the best shows out there, along with its sister show revolving around another mutant, Legion.

Marvel and Dc Tv Shows

The fate of Legion is yet to be revealed. Though the show received critical acclaim on its release, the third season for the show is yet to be confirmed.

Deadpool 2 Almost Had Chris Evans In Its Post-Credit Scene But Not As Cap

The summer blockbuster season is in full swing as Deadpool 2 joins the party after the insanely successful run of Avengers: Infinity War. The Merc with the Mouth makes his return in full grandeur in Deadpool 2 after the logic-defying box office collections of the first Deadpool movie back in 2016. Already aiming for a stellar box-office opening, Deadpool 2 has been released in major markets today.

Since its limited release, Deadpool 2 has been receiving rave reviews on social media. While some fans have found the second installment to be better than the first one, others have praised the action and violence in the movie. But the one thing which has been getting unanimous support from all the fans is the post-credit scene of the movie.

The post-credit scene of the first Deadpool movie was absolutely unconventional with its irreverent humor. With just a single nod to Cable coming to the next movie, the post-credit scene didn’t invest much time in universe linking, unlike Marvel or DC movies.

The second installment of Deadpool has arguably one of the best post-credit scenes in recent history, which even puts Avengers: Infinity War’s post-credit at the back. While the internet has gone crazy over this, an interesting piece of the report has emerged which could have possibly blown away the entire internet, if executed to fruition.

According to the report, there was actually an idea to cast Chris Evans in the post-credit scene of Deadpool 2. Interestingly, the idea was pitched to cast Evans as the Human Torch, the role he once reprised back in 2005 for Fantastic Four. As the rights for Fantastic Four still lies with Fox Studios, the crazy idea was actually pitched for the movie. Considering the spectacular failure of the reboot of Fantastic Four (2015), it was only wise to cast Evans as the original Human Torch.

Another reason for casting Evans in the post-credit scene lies with the career of the Merc With The Mouth, Ryan Reynolds himself. Reynolds once reprised the role of Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern back in 2011 which a massive failure. In the first Deadpool movie, Wade Wilson cracks jokes about the terrible CGI suit for Hal Jordan in Green Lantern.

On similar lines, Chris Evans had portrayed the role of Johnny Storm aka Human Torch in the Fantastic Four, which had received average reviews upon its release. But then, Chris Evans went on to play the role of Captain America and as we know, the rest is history. His portrayal of Captain America has been critically acclaimed by fans and critics alike, alongside Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War which received overwhelmingly positive reviews upon their release.

But unfortunately for the fans, the idea was dropped. In an interview with Uproxx, Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick said the idea didn’t make it past the pitch stage.

“No, no, we never got that far. Someone had the idea we actually did and we thought that was better,” Reese said. “But we definitely had a lot more X-Force interviews with bizarre, random people coming in to interview.”

10 Characters Who Will Form The X-Force In Deadpool 2

According to another report, the idea of Deadpool going back in time to kill off baby Adolf Hitler was also pitched. But sadly, that idea didn’t make past the pitching stage either.

Deadpool 2 faced some hiccups along the way, as director T.J. Miller, who had directed the first installment left the helm midway. According to sources, there was a creative difference between Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller, which led to the split between the dynamic duo who had delivered a $800+ million box-office collection with a mere $60 million production cost. At that time, this is what David Leitsch said:

“The success of the first film has given us license to explore opening up the world and actually being more provocative. That’s what people are going to expect. They did such an incredible job with the first film — I’m such a huge fan, that it’s exciting to get to play in that sandbox. The fun thing about Deadpool is, there are no rules. Look at the comic book series. There aren’t any rules. We break them! That’s what is fun”.

The Deadpool second installment is one of the best things that has happened to the Hollywood, as it revived the R-Rated genre with its irreverent humor and brazen display of violence and nudity. The chemistry between Deadpool and Cable was electrifying and mind-blowing. David Leitsh claimed that he had all the autonomy in adapting comic-book characters and the result will please the fans. He said:

“Cable has a really interesting and complex backstory. Obviously, no film could ever encapsulate the entire backstory, so I think we’ll find the first introduction is about who this character is. When you look at the Cable and Deadpool comic book series, you see how there is banter between them. Whether they are on opposite sides or not, they are definitely formidable to each other. One is frustrating to the other. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin is amazing. It’s not unlike what you see in the Cable and Deadpool series”.

Also, it paved the way for X-Force spin off in the future, here is what the Writers Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick has said:

“Calendar-wise, X-Force is next up in line. Drew is finishing up his movie [Bad Times at the El Royale]. Come the fall, I think he’ll turn his attention full time to X-Force and so that’s next up in the series.

Rheese had this to say earlier:

“I think what we stumbled into was a new tone, and I think we hope to have our own universe that is defined less by characters and timelines and things like that and more by tone. Deadpool 2 and X-Force and future movies all be this new, consistent, sillier tone. More self-aware tone. And edgier and rated-R tone. We want to be establishing the universe but also focusing on each individual movie and not worrying too much about building a larger threat to the world or a larger plot machination”.

“There is a responsibility we have towards the X-Force universe, and I do think we will not disappoint the fans going into Deadpool 2. Its purpose is not to set up X-Force. It will likely set up X-Force, but the drive of the movie is sticking to the Deadpool franchise.”

Deadpool 2 is running successfully in theatres, Directed by David Leitch’s, and stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Julian Dennison as Russell and Josh Brolin as Cable. Here’s the official movie synopsis:

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”

15 Overpowered Cosmic Beings Who Were Defeated By Thanos

After six years of the tease, the Mad Titan Thanos finally made his grand appearance in the 19th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Avengers: Infinity War. His entrance was nothing short of bone-chilling, as expected from someone who is literally enamored with Death. While Thanos is definitely unlike any other the Avengers have faced before, his true potential is yet to be witnessed. Rather than being someone who relies entirely on his raw strength, Thanos is extensively knowledgeable in the field of science, genetics and a bit of magic too.

Having built himself a chair which enables him to teleport in the vast cosmos to be able to destroy planets with his brute strength, Thanos is the ultimate deal. Unfortunately, we might never get to see the true might of The Mad Titan on the silver screen for some obvious reasons. So, in order to give a glimpse into Thanos’ incredible strength, we have compiled 15 overpowered cosmic beings who were decimated by the Mad Titan.

While this particular encounter between the two purple giants didn’t have a proper conclusion, The Mad Titan became one of the few who could blast off Galactus, the devourer of worlds off his feet.

Galactus is a force of nature, which despite of his relentless hunger, is a necessary requirement to bring balance to the universe. Cursed with the never-ending hunger, Galactus devours planets with entire civilizations to satiate himself. Considered as one of the mightiest beings in the entire Marvel Universe, even the Mad Titan wasn’t very keen to take him head-on. But with Galactus in search for the Infinity Gems to satiate his limitless hunger, Thanos discovered that it might give birth to a new entity called the Hunger. In desperation, Thanos goes on to fight the devourer of worlds with his full strength and manages to blast him off from his own citadel.

Drax the Destroyer

The MCU has not done justice to the character of Drax. Shown as a goofball who is proficient in martial arts and has superhuman strength, the original Drax is entirely different from his movie counterpart. Drax was originally created with one goal; to kill Thanos. Created by Thanos’ uncle and father, Drax was originally a human who lost his family due to the Mad Titan’s attack. He was genetically engineered once again to become the perfect killing machine.

In Annihilation, Drax manages to accomplish his goal. But when has Death ever stopped Thanos? In their ensuing battle, the two fighters destroy an entire planet, but, Thanos walks away victorious in the end.

The Chitauri

The Chitauri are a warring alien race who is technologically superior to many other races. Movie goers would remember them as they were introduced in the first Avengers. Despite having access to advanced weapons, the entire race was no match for The Mad Titan, when he decided to land on their planet.

Parallax belongs to the DC Universe, yet, Thanos has managed to kick his ass. In a crossover event of Green Lantern and Silver Surfer: Unholy Alliance, The Mad Titan enters the DC Universe to seize the Green Lantern Power ring for himself. But before he could seize it, he faces Parallax, the evil version of Hal Jordan.

Thanos had previously stolen the power of Oa while Parallax seized the Power Cosmic from Silver Surfer. In the end, it took the combined efforts of Silver Surfer and Kyle Rayner to defeat the two villains and bring back peace to the universe.

Rot was the product of the alliance between Thanos and Mistress Death. Unknown to The Mad Titan, Rot had grown to threaten the entire reality from a speck of dust in little time. In desperation, Mistress Death requested Thanos to kill him off, to which he readily accepted.

Being a half abstract entity and half Eternal Deviant, Rot was too powerful to be defeated at the hands of Death alone. So with combined efforts from The Mad Titan, Rot was finally defeated. In the ensuing battle, Thanos released a beam of energy so powerful that it made the universe scream.

As evident from the recent movies, the Asgardians are one of the strongest races in the entire universe. Endowed with the warrior spirit and millennia of experience by fighting battles in all the ten realms, fighting an Asgardian is to court death itself. But surprisingly, The Mad Titan has managed to defeat Odin, well, almost.

In Infinity Watch, Thanos went head on against the All-father. Despite being the king of gods and having access to some of the most powerful weapons in the universe, Odin was evenly matched by the Mad Titan. The battle was going against Odin, until, there was an intervention which put the fierce battle on hold.

Adam Warlock

Waiting to make his appearance on the silver screen, Adam Warlock is essentially one of the few beings who are a major hindrance to Thanos’ quest to absolute power. Like Vision, Warlock is also tied to an infinity gem, in his case it’s the Soul Gem. As The Mad Titan is considered to be the harbinger of death and destruction, Adam Warlock is the exact opposite to it. He is the Yin to Thanos’ Yang. So, it’s only natural that these two would clash frequently.

But despite being powered by an infinity gem, The Mad Titan has bested Warlock on several occasions.

The God of Thunder, the mighty Asgardian warrior is arguably one of the greatest fighters to ever grace the Marvel universe. With centuries of experience and being worthy enough to wield the Mjolnir, Thor has managed to take down foes more powerful than him. But despite these advantages, the Mad Titan has managed to give Thor a hard time in a few occasions.

The Grandmaster is one of the few beings in the universe who is present since the beginning of time. Being an Elder, it’s incredibly difficult to fool him, thanks to his million years of experience.

In his quest to retrieve all the infinity gems, Thanos had to go through Grandmaster, who happened to be in the possession of the Mind Gem. Instead of relying on his brute strength, Thanos used his genius intellect and tactical expertise to outsmart the Grandmaster to steal the Infinity Gem.

Thousands of years ago, Galactus once created a sentient being in his image and imbued it with the Power Cosmic and decided to name it as Tyrant. But once it was created, Tyrant became hungry for power. In order to keep him from destroying the universe, Galactus decided to strip him off his powers and exile him.

Centuries later, in the present day, Tyrant managed to come back being more powerful than ever. His powers attracted the attention of Thanos. Being the narcissistic monster he is, Thanos decided to challenge Tyrant, who was powered by Silver Surfer, Beta Bill Ray and Terrax. Thanos brought his own band of misfits and heralds to fight him off. As the battle ensued, Tyrant was able to easily hold off Thanos. But seizing his opportunity, Thanos managed to steal his Power Orb, leaving him vulnerable to Galactus’ next attack.

Terrax was one of the first Heralds of Galactus. He is able to change the landscape of any area with his mind, which was further amplified when he was imbued with the Power Cosmic. With his mind, he can cause volcanic eruptions and tectonic shifts. Also, he wield an cosmic scythe with which he can shoot energy beams.

But despite being powered by the Power Cosmic, Terrax was put out like a fly on the wall by Thanos, proving that he is not even in the same league as that of the Mad Titan.

Dark Thanos

Created by the evil Magus, Dark Thanos is a doppelganger of the original Mad Titan who is endowed with the same abilities and desire. This version of Thanos was presented before the original one, before he battled Magus.

The Mad Titan, having held the infinity gauntlet before, had lost the will to fight and win. But as the fight ensued, Thanos emerged victorious, proving his mettle once again.

Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer is probably the most famous heralds of Galactus. Imbued with the Power Cosmic, Silver Surfer has a variety of powers in his arsenal which includes traveling at a speed faster than light, inhuman strength, agility, enhanced senses, energy manipulation and cosmic awareness. Without any surprise, Thanos has still managed to defeat him in the past.

Recently, Silver Surfer was powered by the Mjolnir, which enhanced his already gigantic arsenal. But in a confrontation with both the younger and older versions of The Mad Titan, he was no match for the duo.

Phoenix Force

The Phoenix Force, which is closely associated with the X-Men, more notably with Jean Grey is a devastating force of nature which can destroy civilizations in instance. In a storyline, Thanos’ son Thane is chosen by the Phoenix Force as its host. In a mission to kill his father, Thane confronted Thanos. In the ensuing battle, Thane managed to kill Thanos. But like the Phoenix itself, Thanos rose from his apparent death to pummel Thane so hard that it destroyed a nearby planet.

King Thanos

Being the narcissist he is, The Mad Titan once sought after his younger self to defeat in battle. Taking the quote ‘our greatest enemies are ourselves’ quite literally, Thanos pulled his younger version to the future.

Cosmic Beings Who Were Defeated By Thanos

As the last battle before embracing Death herself, the older Thanos fights his own younger version. But before the fight could reach a conclusive end, a twist of events bring the Mjolnir powered Silver Surfer and the Cosmic Ghostrider into the picture.

Avengers: Infinity War – The Russo Brothers Finally Reveal The Fate of The [Spoiler]

The Infinity War is the grand culmination of all the events that have unfolded in the MCU. It officially began in 2008 with Iron Man and since then 18 MCU movies had come out with Avengers Infinity War being the 19th one. But this one felt very different as it broke the Marvel code in many ways, firstly, the movie had a very strong villain who overpowered the heroes, secondly, the script had a darker tone and thirdly there were real stakes with earth-shattering consequences for the larger MCU. The ending really was a shocker that no one saw it coming.

The movie had a series of surprising deaths, not even sparing the major superheroes. After the snap of his fingers, Thanos was able to wipe out half of the universe’s sentient beings, essentially erasing away a lot of lovable characters. The Russos were right when they cautioned us fans that we should be ready for a heartbreak, but we did not listen and it’s been a prolonged mourning. Here is what they said:

“This is it. Thanos is an unstoppable villain he’s virtually invincible, he’s highly intelligent – genius level intelligent – he’s like the Genghis Khan of the universe, and to stop him it’s going to cost them a lot. They’re going to have to see if they’re willing to pay that price, and that’s what these movies are really about. What we want is for the audience to be prepared, as there’s a lot of surprises – there’s going to be a lot of humor and a lot of heartbreak.”

Although we know the heroes we have lost, the fate of many others is yet to be revealed. From Daredevil to Agent Coulson, it is yet to be seen to what extent Thanos’ plan affected these beloved heroes.

But recently, the Russo Brothers have shed some light on one of the most relatable guys in the first Avengers movie. Yes, we are talking about the guy who was playing Galaga on the Helicarrier.

In a recent interview with Uproxx, the directors of the Infinity War revealed the fate of the beloved minor character. And it’s definitely not good.

According to the Russo Brothers, the Galaga guy was not spared by the Mad Titan, all for the greater good of the universe. To bring balance to the universe, Thanos had decided to decimate half of the population dispassionately and indiscriminately. The deaths were supposed to be completely random, killing people from all types of economic strata, race, religion, ideologies.

And sadly, our beloved Galaga guy succumbed to this grand plan, fading away from existence. “He got snapped in the middle of a Galaga game,” Joe Russo said. “He was seconds away from his all-time high score. He’s gone.”

The apparent death of the beloved Galaga guy is definitely unfortunate, but, what makes it truly saddening, and maybe, a bit humorous is the circumstance under which he faded away. According to the Russo Brothers, the Galaga guy was just seconds before reaching a record highs score when he was erased away from existence, turning into dust.

If you are newer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or just need a general refresher, Galaga Guy was a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who worked on the bridge of the Helicarrier in Marvel’s The Avengers. While there were a lot of operatives and technicians who worked on the Helicarrier, Galaga Guy — we don’t know his real name — was busted by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)

Back in the first Avengers movie, which was directed by Joss Whedon, there were quite a many humorous lines, making the entire theatre go bonkers. One of the more humorous lines was from no other than Tony Stark, when he caught our beloved Galaga guy playing…Galaga! To phrase the exact dialogue, “That man is playing Galaga! He thought we wouldn’t notice, but we did.” This particular line was particularly memorable and has stood the test of time, thanks to some memes on social media.

On a closer look, the beloved Galaga guy actually gave away the plot of the movie through his favorite pastime. As a mere co-incidence or meticulously placed, in the game of Galaga, you have to shoot at alien insect-like creatures. Who was attacking New York City in Avengers? The Chittauri. The cybernetic, hive-minded insect-like aliens laid waste to the Big Apple before they were stopped by the Mighty Avengers.

It was the only time we caught a glimpse of the Galaga guy in the first Avengers. A guy who secretly plays games while working, what’s more relatable to the general working class audience than this? What was even more humorous that the guy went on to resume the game moments after he was busted by Tony Stark. Now, that’s a superhero everyone can get behind. The Galaga guy was a little bit of the everyman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where every other guy has some weird ability.

Infinity War russo brothers

In the post-credit scene of the Avengers: Infinity War, the universal scale catastrophe unleashed by Thanos as part of his diabolical scheme to bring balance to the universe by exterminating half the life doesn’t even spare Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the former being one of the topmost operatives of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the latter being the founder of the same organization.

After their apparent deaths, fans had hoped the Galaga guy to be spared by Thanos’ grand plans. But alas! The Russo Brothers decided to leave no stone unturned to press right where it hurts. Here’s to hoping that we might get a glimpse of our beloved Galaga guy in the upcoming Avengers 4. You will be remembered forever!

Avengers: Infinity War is now in theatres. It is attracting people in droves across the world resulting in new box office records being formed every day.

On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”.

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.

The cast is astonishingly big and top notch as some of the biggest stars are part of this massive undertaking including Josh Brolin (Thanos), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Peter Dinklage (Eitri), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Karen Gillian (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Paul Bettany (Vision), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill).

Tony Stark and Peter Parker’s Final Shot Might Be A Clue To Avengers 4

Avengers: Infinity War has been smashing box office records out of the stadium, it opened to a record-breaking opening weekend where it clocked around $640 million at the box office worldwide. The movie has become the fastest ever to reach $1 Billion mark i.e in just 11 days. It continues to be like an unstoppable hurricane and no one knows where will it stop as it is yet to open in several major countries including China. When everything is said and done, it is poised to breach $2 Billion and becoming the 4th movie to have ever done that.

It was the ultimate fan-pleasing thriller but at the same time, it has also left the fans gasping and clutching their seats like never before. The trailers of Infinity War were definitely pointing towards a grim ending, but, not a single soul was ready for the overwhelming emotional impact from an MCU movie, which was previously known for its light and humorous tone. It had extremely high stakes with real consequences that have dramatically altered the MCU.

From fan theories to trying to dig up every actor’s contract, everything failed to stop the barrage of emotions hitting like a speeding truck when Thanos decided to snap his fingers. This post contains some heavy SPOILERS, so proceed at your own risk.

avengers infinity war final trailer breakdown 9 thanos infinity stones Tony Stark and Peter Parker Final Shot Might Be A Clue To Avengers 4

Before the theatrical release of Infinity War, it was widely speculated that one or more members from the original Avengers might die at the hands of Thanos. As the trailers kept pouring, it became more and more clear that it might be Captain America, who will sacrifice himself for the team. Still a soldier in his heart, he might take one for the team for one last time. The iconic frame of Rogers trying to hold off Thanos all by himself almost cemented the thought.

Another theory started floating that it might actually be Tony Stark, who shall make his final appearance. The theory gained traction also due to the fact that Robert Downey Jr. might not renew his contract with Marvel. But all theories were blown into dust when the movie finally hit the theatres. In an unprecedented twist of surprise, the original Avengers managed to come out alive, while most of the members from Phase 2 and Phase 3 turned to dust, quite literally.

The surprising number of unprecedented deaths in Avengers: Infinity War left everyone teary eyed. Right from Bucky to Black Panther, the major players who were considered to be absolutely safe faded off from existence. While each apparent death was emotional, it was Spiderman’s apparent death which pushed that last button in everyone sitting in the theatre.

With the initial reference towards Stark thinking to have a baby with Pepper Potts, with Peter Parker being the closest thing to a son, the guilt and trauma for Tony was palpable. From loud gasps to droplets rolling out from the corner of their eyes, the scene proved to be too impactful.

On top of that, Tom Holland’s brilliance on the screen added extra punch to the gut. While we can talk about the impact of the scene for days to come, the one good thing which came out of it was the insight into the upcoming Avengers 4. Here’s what Infinity War writer said:

“[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is. Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief”.

In Spiderman: Homecoming, Kevin Feige had announced that Peter Parker won’t be having the Spider-Sense in the movie. The famous ability which was a highlight in Sam Raimi’s Spiderman trilogy was left to be explored in the future movies.

As the first ever trailer of Avengers: Infinity War hit the internet, the fans were introduced to the brand new Spider Sense of Peter Parker. The appearance of Thanos was dangerous enough to trigger the ability to sense the inevitable.

While a lot of fans might think that it was the only instance where Spiderman shows this ability, another theory claims otherwise. As Thanos snaps his fingers at the end of the movie, almost everyone fades away into dust without any prior warning.

But the very thing which made the scene with Spider-man so emotional also hinted at his ability and a thing or two. Unlike others, Spider-man actually senses the danger to his body and says, “Mr. Stark, I’m not feeling so good…”.

He could actually feel his body being teleported to another dimension. As the scene proceeds, it turns out Parker was not spared by Thanos. One important thing which went unnoticed was the choice of words made by him.

Peter desperately asks for help to Stark by saying “I don’t want to go.” The peculiar thing about this is his choice to go for the word ‘go’ instead of ‘die’. Marvel has always capitalized on such minor things. Another important thing which must be kept in mind is that this dialogue is a direct reference from Doctor Who. For the ones who are uninitiated, Doctor Who has an alien doctor who re-incarnates into different bodies while essentially being the same person. So what does this have in store for Spiderman and the rest of the team?

Well, for one thing, this might be a reference to the soul world, where the souls of all these wiped out creatures are currently being held. As Spider-Man is endowed with the Spider-Sense, it is quite plausible that he sensed that he is being teleported to another dimension instead of actually dying, hence his choice of words.

The idea of getting everyone out the pocket dimension of the Soul World is a herculean task for Tony and the rest of the Avengers, but at least, this tiny bit of knowledge might provide some solace to the grieving heroes in this time of despair. It’s over to you Tony to save the humanity one last time!

Avengers: Infinity War Brings The Spotlight Back To MCU’s Timeline Error

The 19th installment of the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War has embarked with a thunderous box office collection, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and leveling Justice League’s entire collection in mere three days. It has opened to a mammoth $260 million plus an opening weekend at the box-office worldwide which is highest ever by any comic-book movie. The movie is incredibly poised to reach $ 1 Billion mark in no time and has enough legs to breach $2 Billion when all is said and done.

Finally redeeming itself of its villain curse, Infinity War has managed to alter the entire tone of the previously light-hearted and humorous universe. This one had a much darker tone throughout and real stakes with dramatic consequences for the MCU.

Thanos was not just a powerful cosmic bully who would tear apart everything because he can, he is driven by a mission i.e to bring balance to the universe even if it means wiping off half the life from the universe so that limited resources can be more evenly divided. He believed he was the only strong-willed being who has the tenacity to do what is necessary, in a twisted way he was the hero of his story.

Avengers: Infinity War boasts of a terrifying villain, the one which finally puts the villain issue to rest. Since the first Avengers (2012), Tom Hiddlestone’s portrayal of Loki had been a benchmark for the villains to surpass in this cinematic universe.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Hela was yet another amazing MCU villain. While Michael B. Jordan did manage to win a lot of fans with his portrayal of Erik Killmonger in Black Panther, it all comes down to Josh Brolin, who truly managed to showcase his acting prowess on the silver screen.

While almost everything has been done to perfection in this latest installment, there is but one issue which throws light on the continuity issue of this inter-connected cinematic universe. Avengers: Infinity War definitely got this part right, but, in a way; it creates a discontinuity for its antagonist and his powerful Infinity Gauntlet.

Thanos has been teased prior to the release of Infinity War. Since the first installment of the Avengers, Thanos has been making small appearances in post-credit scenes. Going back to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, we get to see the full glimpse of Thanos sitting on his chair.

In the movie, it is implied that Thanos is in a quest to find all the Infinity Stones, starting with the Power Stone by the help of Ronan the Accuser.

Once again, Thanos makes his appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, where he is certainly pissed at the failed attempts to retrieve the stones, and goes out himself at last. While those cameos were certainly marvelous, the latest installment of the Avengers has kind of tore down the continuity of these connected events. We will break it down for you.

According to the Russo Brothers, the events in Age of Ultron took place three years prior to the events of Infinity War. As Thanos embarks on his journey to retrieve all the stones by himself, it is safe to assume that he started it three years ago. And that’s where the problem arises.

infinity war

Thanos’ first visit is to Xandar, where he decimated half the population and steals the Power Stone. In order to wield it, he required the Infinity Gauntlet, the only device which can harness the powers of these stones. In Infinity War, it is revealed that Thanos visited Nidavellir to get the gauntlet, which was created by the dwarf Eitri, played by Peter Dinklage.

So, Thanos must have reached Nidavellir three years ago, where he forced Eitri to make the gauntlet and killed off all the dwarves except Eitri. Also, he made sure that Eitri never manages to create another weapon like the gauntlet by sealing off his hands with metal. Oh, in case you forgot, Nidavellir is the place where Mjolnir was forged, along with other weapons wielded by the Allfathers of Asgard.

To a casual viewer, the obvious error in the timeline won’t be easily visible. But if you look a bit closely, spending three years alone in a planet is quite impossible. On top of that, add the fact that Eitri lost both of his hands, which makes it quite difficult to survive. Even if you decide to defend this situation using the effects of gravitation on space and time, it still won’t hold ground. It’s not three weeks we are talking about, it’s three full years.

Another point which strengthens this argument is that the destruction of Nidavellir should have been noticed by the Asgardians or even any other sentient being in the cosmos. Even though Loki had replaced Odin as the king, the incident should have attracted Thor’s attention since he was on a quest to find the solution to Ragnarok. Such an important place which also contains the heart of a dying star should have attracted at least some sort of attention for going dark for such a long period of time.

The only viable solution to this error would be that the post-credit scene in Age of Ultron happened at least after a year or two. Or else, the creation of the Infinity Gauntlet casts a serious problem on Marvel’s timeline.

The fissures in the timeline is not something new to MCU as it has been dealing with these issues for quite some time now. The biggest breach was witnessed in Spiderman: Homecoming which was supposed to be around 2016 post Civil War but the plot hole was “Battle of New York” took place in 2012, so an 8 year hence makes it 2020 which throws entire MCU timeline out of the window.

But since these issues persisted, Kevin Feige came with a brilliant plan to officially publish the MCU timeline.

“All of that debate has encouraged us. We are going to be publishing an official, and I’m not sure when, or in what format, an official timeline. It’ll probably be a part of ah, I don’t know, a part of an in print that you can fold out and look at,” he said. “But suffice to say, only in limited cases do we ever actually say what the actual years are because we never want to be tied down to a particular year and I think people assume that whenever the movie is released is when is when the movie is taking place, and that is not the case.”

Currently, Avengers Infinity War is playing successfully in theaters. It is directed by Russo brothers who have earlier directed two Captain America movies – Winter Soldier and Civil War. It is produced by Marvel President Kevin Feige along with a bunch of senior executive producers like Stan Lee, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo. The script is written by an amazing duo – Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The cast is jaw dropping as it has some of the who’s who of Hollywood under single roof including Josh Brolin (Thanos), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Karen Gillian (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Paul Bettany (Vision), Peter Dinklage (Eetri), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill).

The official movie synopsis reads:

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.

10 Questions Which Were Left Unanswered In Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War, the 19th installment in the magnanimous Marvel Cinematic Universe has been an unstoppable juggernaut which is shattering every record previously held by other blockbusters. With an ensemble cast of some of the top tier actors of Hollywood, Avengers: Infinity War is arguably the greatest amalgamation of superheroes after a legacy of ten long years. A tightly written plot, well-placed humor, and a terrifying villain, Infinity War has finally hit the ball straight out of the park.

Previously plagued with the antagonist issue, Infinity War has managed to find its cure in Thanos who is played by the talented Josh Brolin. While the movie has left fans reeling and crying, it has also raised some serious questions which have been left unanswered by the Russo Brothers.

Thanos’ quest to find all the Infinity Stones has managed to turn the humorous and light-hearted Marvel Cinematic Universe to a dark and gritty one, where the stakes are truly high. But as the film proceeds, more questions have arisen rather than answers. Without much ado, let’s delve straight into them. But be warned, this post is dark and full of spoilers.

Where are Valkyrie, Korg, and Miek?

At the end of Thor: Ragnarok, the destruction of Asgard by Surtur forces Thor, Loki, Heimdall, Valkyrie, Korg, Miek, Hulk and the rest of the Asgardians to find refuge somewhere else. As they are traveling through the cosmos, their spacecraft is intercepted by a larger ship. Avengers: Infinity War picks up right from that scene and it turns out, the larger ship belongs to Thanos and the much dreaded Black Order. As Thanos and his children arrive on the ship, they decimate almost everyone including Loki and Heimdall.

Even though Hulk puts up a fight, he is utterly humiliated by the Mad Titan but is teleported to Earth by the Bifrost which was conjured by Heimdall. But surprisingly, there was no sign of Valkyrie, Korg or Miek. Though Korg and Miek are minor characters and it can be presumed that they were killed off, what exactly happened to Valkyrie? The destruction of the spaceship might have presumably killed her for good, but fans are not buying it. The reason is quite simple; Tessa Thompson would have never signed a contract for a single movie.

How did the destruction of Xandar happen?

During the scene on the Asgardian vessel, Thanos claims that he seized the Power Stone from Xandar by destroying it. Even though Thanos is quite powerful without the Infinity Gauntlet, defeating the Nova Corps is no easy task. This incident was brushed off quite easily by the filmmakers, but it is quite plausible that fans might get a glimpse once Nova is introduced to the cinematic universe.

Where are Hawkeye and Ant-Man?

In Avengers: Infinity War, Sam Wilson notifies that both Barton and Lang were given a plea deal and are currently under house arrest for their roles in Captain America: Civil War. But with such an apocalyptic event uncovering in the entire universe, these two Avengers should have at least made an appearance. While it’s confirmed that both of them will appear in Avengers 4, the only remaining question is that how are these heroes going to make their entrances? What if Scott Lang was erased from existence too?

When did Star-Lord and Gamora start dating?

While there was a palpable chemistry between the two outlaws, the romance never did blossom in the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies. It might seem like a minor thing, but the romance did have some serious consequence in the movie.

What happens to Red Skull now?

One of the most surprising turns of events in Infinity War was the re-introduction of the much loved Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger. Red Skull used to head HYDRA, the scientific division of the Nazis in the Second World War. In his quest for ultimate power, Red Skull was enamored with the infinity stones. But unable to wield the power of the space stone which was previously known as the Tesseract, it seems Red Skull was actually transported to Vormir, instead of meeting his demise.

On Vormir, he was guarding the Soul Stone, unable to wield it for himself. But now, Thanos finally has got his hands on it. So what exactly happens to Red Skull? Does he finally die for real? Or, will he roam the barren planet like a wraith?

Where was that tranquil orange place in the movie?

After snapping his fingers to wipe out half the universe, Thanos was suddenly teleported to a quaint and tranquil planet which had an orange hue all over it. In the scene, Thanos is seen conversing with a young Gamora about the price he had to pay to restore balance in the universe. What exactly was that place?

The orange hue of the planet seems to answer this question. In order to get the soul stone, Thanos had to sacrifice his favorite daughter, Gamora. If you would look a bit closer, the soul stone is also orange in color. So, the tranquil planet might be a glimpse into the pocket dimension of the soul world which will be further explored in Avengers 4.

Where did Thanos go?

After accomplishing his mission of wiping out half of the population, Thanos gets teleported to a strange planet. The planet resembles a bit of earth with its lush greenery. There, Thanos is seen to be at peace, witnessing the setting sun.

But what exactly is that planet? Where did the Mad Titan teleport himself to?

What happened to the Infinity Gauntlet?

After the Battle of Wakanda, the Avengers regroup and eliminate the Black Order for good. But before they could catch their breaths, Thanos himself arrives to seize the Mind Stone by himself. While the Avengers are no match for the Infinity Gauntlet powered Thanos, the God of Thunder proves to be a formidable match.

With his recently made axe known as Stormbreaker, Thor manages to severely wound the Mad Titan. To save himself, Thanos teleports to an unknown planet. But in the process, it can be seen that the gauntlet is damaged, presumably beyond the point to use it again.

What happened to it? If it is indeed damaged beyond repair, how are the Avengers going to use the gauntlet to reverse the effects of the stones?

What is Doctor Strange’s grand plan?

In the beginning of the movie, Doctor Strange assertively tells Tony Stark that he won’t hesitate to trade his or Spiderman’s lives to protect the Time Stone. But at the end of the movie, he asks Thanos to spare Stark’s life for the time stone, for which he took an oath to protect it. It’s highly unlikely that Strange suddenly had compassion for Stark, with whom he had no prior conversation.

It was also revealed that Strange used the Time Stone to find one way out of fourteen million ways to defeat Thanos. Before fading away into dust, he reminds Stark that it’s the only way, which implies that he still has got some tricks up his sleeve.

Where is Captain Marvel?

In the post-credits scene, it was revealed that both Nick Fury and Maria Hill are also the victims of Thanos. But before completely fading away, Fury manages to contact Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel for help.

10 Questions Which Were Left Unanswered In Avengers: Infinity War

For those who are unaware, it was Captain Marvel alongside Adam Warlock, who was able to take down Thanos in the Infinity Gauntlet arc. But the question arises, where exactly is she? The official synopsis of the upcoming movie has revealed that the movie will be set in the 1990s. So, Captain Marvel existed even before the Avengers Initiative happened. Let’s hope that we get some insights soon.

The Flash – Here’s How Harrison Wells Will Transform Into a Different Person

Harrison Wells is arguably the most beloved characters on the currently on-air superhero series The Flash. Endowed with a genius intellect and wisdom, Harrison Wells brings the much-needed stability and threat assessment to the group full of excited geniuses and The Scarlet Speedster. Originally introduced as Eobard Thawne or the Reverse-Flash, who had taken the original Harrison Wells’ appearance, the show has managed to retrieve another Harrison Wells from a different earth. As a series regular now, Tom Cavanagh portrays Harrison Wells who is now an integral part of the Team Flash.

Barry Allen aka The Flash was already a genius before gaining his powers from the Speed Force. So it’s pretty obvious that Harrison Wells of Earth-two would have to rely only on his wits to actually make an impact on the team’s decisions. The Harrison Wells from Earth-Two was able to solve Einstein’s riddle at the age of 10. It’s only hindsight at the prowess of his genius intellect to aid the fastest man alive.

Harrison Wells flash

But after the latest episode of The Flash ‘Fury Rogue’, the makers of the show will be making some drastic changes to Harrison Wells. No candies for the correct guess; Harrison Wells will be losing his intelligence owing to some past incidents.

In ‘Fury Rogue’, the latest episode, Harrison Wells notices that he has started losing his much-prized intelligence. The reason being quite ironical; the Thinking Cap which was devised by him to augment his intelligence has started to affect a part of his brain.

In the earlier episode of ‘Lose Yourself’, Clifford DeVoe who is more popularly known as the Thinker attacked S.T.A.R. Labs and hence began the problem. In order to outsmart the Thinker, Harrison Wells rushed into the Reverse-Flash’s secret lair, where he had stored the Thinking Cap. In the lair, he ordered Gideon to fuse the cap with his head and crank it up to its maximum capacity. Despite repeated warnings from Gideon, Wells decided to proceed with the plan anyway to protect his teammates from the Thinker.

The Thinking Cap is infused with dark matter and can have catastrophic effects on the user if used at its peak level. As Harrison didn’t pay heed to Gideon’s warnings and wore the cap, the cap shocked him and caused him to seize.

In ‘Fury Rogue’, Harrison Wells becomes aware of the complete damage to his brain after wearing the Thinking Cap. After a full diagnosis by Gideon, it is revealed that the part of his brain which controls intelligence has started to deteriorate. As a form of insecurity, Wells decides to not let the rest of the team know about his condition.

As Cisco asked him to create another Thinking Cap for him, Harrison finally breaks down and reveals to Cisco about his condition. In the process, he also reveals his season-long insecurity of having his intelligence as the only weapon. Though Cisco promised him to find a cure, it is quite expected to see Harrison losing his mind for a few episodes at least.

The upcoming episode ‘Harry and the Harrisons’, Harry might actually be kicked off the group owing to his diminishing intelligence. As the council was made to find solutions for apocalyptic problems, having a slippery Harry onboard is not wise.

Originally, the Thinking Cap was conceptualized by Clifford Devoe aka the Thinker. He had planned to have this device for his students so that they could use their brains at its maximum capacity. After asking his wife Maria to actually invent the device, owing to her Mechanical Engineering background, the device is finally created. In Earth-two, the DeVoes decide to attend the inauguration of the Hadron Collider at S.T.A.R. Labs, already anticipating its failure and the consequences. After the massive failure and the catastrophic outcome, Clifford DeVoe exposes himself to the rain with his Thinking Cap on his head, only to get infused by the dark matter. In the process, he turns into a meta-human with a genius intellect.

On Earth-One, Harrison Wells and a reluctant Cisco invent their own version of the Thinking Cap to combat the Thinker. After witnessing the effects of the dark matter on Clifford DeVoe, Cisco warns Harry to not use it at its full power, lest the cap taints Harry permanently.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, and Tom Cavanagh as Harry Wells, with guest appearances from Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and Hartley Sawyer as the Elongated Man.

Aquaman: James Wan Reveals The Reason Behind Not Releasing The Trailer

Aquaman is a classic DC Superhero who is one of the founding members of Justice League. He is the King of Atlantis who possess vast range of powers including telepathic powers. He is basically a sea warrior. He has the ability to command all sea life and possess super strength and speed. He can survive on land as well as under the depths of oceans with extreme temperatures.

He was briefly introduced in Justice League and together with other members of JL, they took down a monster names Steppenwolf. Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo, Game of Thrones) played Aquaman and he totally nailed the character. As a result, DC announced a spin off movie based on adventures of Aquaman.

The movie would essentially deal with the origin story of Arthur Curry who transformed from a regular guy to a leader of Atlanteans who commands respect of both humans and sea creatures. The big villain is expected to be Black Manta who was a treasure hunter with a mission to collect Aquaman’s blood. He is likely to be played by actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen.

Master of horror, James Wan, who revived the horror genre with The Conjuring duology is also helming the ambitious solo project of the DCEU, Aquaman. Wan, who has a solid track record in his filmography is the perfect candidate to direct the upcoming Aquaman movie, which will hopefully bring the DCEU to calm waters. The budget of the solo Aquaman movie is in excess of $160 million.

aquaman mera

James Wan have also said that it is a ‘coming of age’ story which would touch some of the classic romantic elements of 80’s much like ‘Romancing the Stone’. The gorgeous Amber Heard is playing the role of Mera, Queen of Atlantis. There have been leaks of set images where Heard and Momoa can be seen together and they are looking fabulous.

Aquaman, a solo venture belonging to the DC Extended Universe, is the only movie from the universe to release in 2018. After five movies, the DC Extended Universe is yet to find a stable ground. Ever since Man of Steel was released, the movies have been getting polarizing reviews from both critics and fans alike.

After the release of Wonder Woman, the DC Extended Universe seemed to find its Midas touch, as Wonder Woman went on a record-breaking rampage while at the same time, gaining universal acclaim from critics and fans. While all was going seemingly perfect, the mega-assemble of DC’s most iconic heroes, Justice League found itself once again in troubled waters.

After a tragedy-stricken Zack Snyder left the movie midway, the creative direction could never really find a vivid path and ended up getting average reviews from fans and critics. On top of that, Justice League didn’t perform as per expectations, unlike Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, which performed exceedingly well among the fans, despite overwhelmingly negative reactions. So currently, the upcoming Aquaman and Shazam! are the two shining lights for a very dark and torturous tunnel ahead.

A lot is riding over the success of James Wan’s Aquaman starring Jason Momoa as the future of DCEU rests on it. It will be very difficult for DC to comeback if Aquaman bombs at the box office. But whatever material is available be it set images, teasers, behind the scenes stuff the movie seem to be on pretty solid ground. Here is what actor Jason Momoa had to say about Aquaman:

“You’re going to see this ocean world, which we just pollute, and how do these people feel underwater with what the land does to the ocean. And this war that is going to come between the two, and I’m the only one that can link the two. He has to do it. He doesn’t want to do it. Surpassing Justice League, this moment in time is his call to become king. The only thing that can save Atlantis is me fighting my own brother. There’s a big battle, and there’s an epic fight”.

He indicated that the movie is loosely inspired from Geoff Johns’ ‘Throne of Atlantis’ storyline and an extension of Justice League: Origins which makes complete sense as Justice League movie was also inspired from the same. He also drew parallels between Star Wars and Aquaman and said this:

“It’s also a big road movie, because we travel all over the world. It’s got that Star Wars quality of gigantic ships and guys riding sharks. It’s going to be this whole world you’ve never seen before. You’re going to see him start as this guy who probably rides bikes, works on cars. You get to see him this one way as kind of a dirty, dark, drunkard, and then turn into this regal king.”

A month ago, the news of Warner Bros. releasing the trailer for Aquaman made rounds. As the studio house had screened the first look of Aquaman at the San-Diego Comic-Con in 2017, the rumor felt quite plausible. But as the news was finally debunked, another set of rumors started making the rounds, which have been quite consistent before the release of any DCEU movie. But this time, James Wan decided not to have this negativity even before the release of the movie.

According to recent rumors, which have been plaguing the DCEU since its inception, Aquaman has not received stellar reviews from first screenings. Consequently, the decision to not release the trailer in WonderCon seemed to fuel the rumors. But finally after days of speculation, the man himself has spoken, and stern is his approach, as it is witty.

In a three-part tweet, Wan explained why he decided not to release the trailer.

In this barrage of tweets, Wan seems pretty assertive while still being able to maintain his cool by using Oceanic puns, which were absolutely hilarious!

The decision to not release the trailer might have bummed out many fans, but on retrospect, it’s definitely a good decision. Firstly, it might be that Warner Bros. has finally decided to take things at their own pace instead of rushing, which has affected the qualities of the previous movies. Secondly, Aquaman is a CGI-heavy movie, owing to its underwater scenes.

Rushing up on CGI has never worked well for anyone, the recent disaster being the mustache of Henry Cavill in Justice League. Also, the recently released teaser of the upcoming Venom, starring Tom Hardy, received some backlash for not being able to show any CGI-filled scene.

Thirdly, most people underestimate the power of a good trailer. A well-made trailer, in case of a superhero movie, plays a major role in garnering critical reception. A stunning example of this case would be Suicide Squad, which managed to rake in $700+ million, despite being a mediocre movie.

The reason being pretty simple, all the trailers of the movie were spectacular. So, if the director himself feels that the CGI is not yet ready, then it’s definitely a good move to postpone the trailer. On top of that, Aquaman is slated to release in December, which is a long way to go.

aquaman James Wan

But this leaves the release date of Aquaman quite unclear. It can be speculated that Warner Bros. might release the teaser in the San Diego Comic-Con in July, but it’s highly unlikely that they will wait that long to release the first teaser.  The full trailer will most definitely be released in the SDCC 2018, and hopefully, the teaser will be released a bit earlier.

Aquaman is slated to release on December 21st, 2018. Here is the official synopsis released by DC and WB:

“Aquaman will center on ‘Aquaman’ as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface. He is the King of the Seven Seas. Leader of Atlantis, he is caught between the surface world constantly ravaging the seas and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt. Aquaman is committed to protecting the entire world. This film is part of WB’s shared DC cinematic universe.”

Avengers: Infinity War – Here’s The Reason Why Hawkeye And Soul Stone Are Not Shown In The Trailers

Avengers Infinity War will mark the beginning of the end of all the major plots and storylines that have started in the three phases of MCU. It is the greatest comic book ensemble movie in the history of Hollywood, no studio has ever tried anything of this scale and magnitude. We will witness history as this is totally unprecedented.

According to sources, there will be around 67 major comic book characters which will be featured in the movie and half of them are superheroes. The first official trailer showed us Thanos in action for the very first time as he was only seen in the post-credits of Marvel movies until now.

avengers infinity war big fight scene

With the explosive second trailer of the much awaited Avengers: Infinity War out, the Marvel camp has gone pretty much berserk. To say the least, the latest trailer is probably the best trailer to come out in recent history. With some pretty bone-chilling scenes of Thanos’ infamous Black order to Captain America standing up against The Mad Titan, the trailer is every fan’s wet dream.

But the trailer does raise two important questions which might be pivotal to the entire plot:

Where is Hawkeye in the trailer?

Where is the Soul Stone?

In both the trailers, we haven’t yet had a glimpse of the greatest marksman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though it is widely believed that Clint might have actually retired after the events of Captain America: Civil War, it’s definitely not going to be the case. When Steve Rogers helped Clint and the other captured members of #TeamCap at the end of Captain America: Civil War, Clint most probably went back to his cozy little home in the countryside to his wife and kids.

But now with Thanos on the planet, the Avengers would definitely need their master archer back, and, it’s too big an opportunity to miss for Clint. So, what if, both Hawkeye and the Soul Stone are linked to the plot, instead of being mutually exclusive to each other?

The recent costume of Hawkeye has hinted to his transformation into Ronin. When Hawkeye’s story surfaced for Avengers 4, it was shown that Hawkeye would undergo the transformation into Ronin, after suffering a huge personal loss.

According to MCUExchange, a reliable source for comic book news said:

“one specific tragic event will shatter Clint Barton’s world and he will give up his identity as a Hawkeye and embrace a new secretive identity of Ronin”.

According to the inside sources, the event or circumstances of Clint are so dark that studio may well cut those scenes during the editing process. The best guess is that Thanos’ Black Order may have targeted his family and killed all of them which would push him to the breaking point and put him on a darker path.

So, is Hawkeye on a clandestine mission the entire time the big guns from the Avengers are trying to repel Thanos and his Black Order?

It was also believed that Ant-Man would retire after the events of Captain America: Civil War. But, that’s not the case. Ant-Man will be returning for Ant-Man and the Wasp, and most definitely for Avengers: Infinity War. While there’s a huge chance to see Ant-Man and Hawkeye returning to the screen in style, our bet is that Hawkeye/Ronin will turn out to be the unexpected savior when the Mighty Avengers fall.

In the trailer, it’s quite evident that Wakanda might fall. From toppling down the colossal Hulkbuster to isolating Steve Rogers to fight Thanos alone, it’s a possibility that the advanced Wakandan army might not triumph against Thanos’ extra-terrestrial army. So how does Hawkeye become the unexpected hero in this case? It gets quite interesting from here.

If the rumors are to be believed, Hawkeye will face a huge personal loss which will transform him into Ronin. In Japanese, Ronin translates into a Samurai without any master, or more specifically, a lone warrior. With Clint losing his family to Thanos’ attack, his new persona of Ronin is more violent and ruthless, with a sole goal; revenge. But that’s not the only reason for keeping Hawkeye out of any promotional material.

Some previously released set photos of Avengers: Infinity War had revealed the set position to be Japan. Also, there was news regarding the Yakuza, or, the Japanese Mafia. According to reports, there might be a sequence with the Yakuza in the movie. With so many hints, it’s not hard to guess that the most important object in the universe might actually be hidden in Japan. Based on these speculations, Hawkeye/Ronin could come out of his retirement to secure the Soul Stone.

Till now, Marvel has been successful in keeping the location of the soul stone under the wraps. While there are so many ways to link the Soul Stone with the ancient history of Japan, it’s pretty much clear that the Avengers will need an expert in clandestine missions to recover the final stone. 10 Biggest Unsolved Mysteries Which Were Left Unanswered

Everyone loves a challenging puzzle, a dark secret, a thrilling mystery. Mysteries shall always remain a fan-favorite because people love to see the unexpected at the end. But what happens when the mysteries are left unsolved? It might be pre-planned by the filmmaker to give an experience of a cliffhanger, or an attempt to encourage the audience to reach their own conclusions. But usually, the mystery gets sidetracked by the plot, or in the worst case scenario, it’s just sloppy writing.

But whatever might be the reason, intriguing mysteries are always going to be hunted down by fans. But in a few cases, the mysteries are too vague to leave any definite answer. Here, we have compiled the 10 biggest unsolved mysteries which were left unanswered.

What was in the briefcase? (Pulp Fiction)

It’s been almost 14 years since the cult classic movie Pulp Fiction was released. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, Pulp Fiction was a bold attempt at filmmaking. With a non-linear storyline and over-the-top adult content, Pulp Fiction has been considered as one of the greatest movies of all time. But the most frequently asked question from the movie is regarding the suitcase. What exactly was in the suitcase? From the looks of it, the insides of the suitcase had a golden glow when Vincent opened it in the apartment. But till date, the content of the suitcase has not been revealed. There have been a lot of fan theories stating that it was actually William Wallace’s soul in the suitcase, as the password as 666, which is usually considered as the devil’s number. In an interview, Tarantino himself confirmed that there’s no official answer to this mystery.

Who is Supreme Leader Snoke? (Star Wars)

After the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, two major questions had risen. Who are Rey’s parents, and, who is Supreme Leader Snoke?

Two years later, when The Last Jedi finally released, the answer to the first question was answered. But till date, nothing noteworthy has been known regarding the Supreme Leader, who guided The First Order to become a force of nature? In the movie, Kylo Ren slices Snoke into two, throwing any back story out of the window. Though it’s a possibility that Snoke’s past will be explained in the novels, but it’s a long shot that it will be ever shown on the silver screen. The reason being very simple; Snoke was just a plot device.

Is Cobb still dreaming? (Inception)

Christopher Nolan’s Inception is arguably the most talked movie of the past decade. With an intricately designed plot and some serious acting from the cast, Inception received critical acclaim upon its release. But one thing which still infuriates the audience is the end scene, which questions the entire plot of the movie. Was Cobb still dreaming?

The movie deals with dream hunters, who use multiple layers of dreams to steal/implant ideas from people. But if not careful, the dream hunters can remain trapped in the dreams of their victims or their own subconscious. Cobb plans a dangerous heist including 3 layers of dreams, which makes the system quite delicate. But in return, his criminal record gets erased and he gets to reunite with his children. In the last scene, Cobb finally rotates his totem, a top, and goes to reunite with his children. While the top definitely wobbles a bit, it doesn’t necessarily arrive at a particular conclusion. In an interview with Nolan, he admits that he knows the definite ending to the movie, but he won’t be sharing it with the audience, leaving it to their imaginations. Now, that’s just cruel, Mr. Nolan.

What happened to the stolen embryos? (Jurassic Park)

In Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, there happened to be one incident which might have faded away after so many years and the Jurassic World; the stolen man-made dinosaur embryos which were stashed in a can of shaving cream, only to be left in the mud after a freak accident.

In the movie, Dennis Nedry, played by Wayne Knight and a shady man named Dodgson steal some embryos in a can of shaving cream, and run away to the docks. But unfortunately, the night is hit by a severe storm and Dennis crashes the car due to the rain. During his attempt to get back on the road again, he meets his grisly end by being eaten by a dinosaur. During the event, the can containing the embryos roll down to the jungle, never to be recovered again. Now, that’s just lazy writing.

Why did the birds go crazy? (The Birds)

Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds was released almost 50 years ago, but, it’s still considered as one of the best horror movies of all time. While the special effects look comical by today’s standards, but the tension is still palpable. The final scene of the movie, where hundreds of birds are waiting to strike, as the heroes drive off into the distance, will still be able to send a chill down your spine.

While the movie builds up the tension with dexterity, it never really reveals the reason behind the grisly attack by the birds. And since director Hitchcock and screen writer Ed McBain have been dead for years, the answer will probably never be revealed. But it’s a fact that Hitchcock was partly inspired from a real life incident which took place in Santa Cruz on August 18, 1961, where hundreds of birds went bat-shit crazy and started attacking everything in sight, only to meet their violent deaths. On investigation, it was revealed that the birds were high on poisonous algae. While the movie might have been created with the same lateral, but one thing which was confirmed that in the event of such an attack by the avians, we are definitely screwed.

How did the Joker get his scars? (The Dark Knight)

In the comics, there have been no definite answer to the Joker’s origin, and the Nolan brothers respected the source material in the acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy.

In the movie, the Joker asks the same question multiple times to various characters, only to give a different answer in each case. From being beaten by his father to an accident which destroyed his marriage life, none of the stories give a definite origin to the clown prince of crime. And there lies the beauty of entire scenario. While Batman has a definite origin story which motivates him to stop crime, the Joker, being the arch-nemesis of The Caped Crusader shouldn’t have any origin story. Like all the decay and decadence of Gotham, Joker too belongs to the very shadow, which Batman tries to vanquish every night. And that’s a mystery, which shall never be answered.

What did Bob whisper to Charlotte? (Lost in Translation)

In Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, an aging Bob strikes up an unusual friendship with the newly-wed Charlotte in Tokyo. After a week of hanging out and pouring their souls out, Bob and Charlotte seemingly part their ways. But before that, Bob whispers something into Charlotte’s ear, which is still a mystery.

Who is the Thing? (The Thing)

In John Carpenter’s The Thing, the villain is pretty unique by most standards. For starters, it’s a shapeshifter, which can presumably shift into anything. With such a cunning villain on the loose, everyone has to be on guard. The only solution to destroy the Thing, or at least, leaving it stranded on Antarctica, is by blowing up the research station. The plan works, but in parts. In the final scene, Kurt Russell’s Macready and Keith David’s Childs, share a bottle of whiskey, while eyeing each other with suspicion. The reason being, the Thing could have been any one of them. The movie goes on to keep it ambiguous till the end.

Did Croker’s gang get the gold? (The Italian Job)

In The Italian Job, the band of thieves, led by Michael Caine manage to steal 4 million dollars worth of gold, find themselves hanging from a cliff, as the bus they used to steal skids off the road. While the gang in on the part closer to the land, any attempt to get the gold and survive would have resulted in losing both of them. At this point, Croker says, “I’ve got a great idea” and the movie cuts to credits. The Italian Job never got any sequel, so there’s no way to determine the fate of the Croker gang.

Who killed Uncle Ben? (The Amazing Spiderman)

Everyone knows Uncle Ben. The guy who was pivotal in making Spiderman one of the greatest superheroes of all time. But sadly, the guy never gets a specific origin story. In the comics, the guy who shoots Uncle Ben dies of a heart attack. In Sam Raimi’s Spiderman, the killer is retconned to Spiderman 3, where it is revealed that it was the movie’s third villain, Sandman, who had killed Uncle Ben.

unsolved mysteries

In The Amazing Spiderman, though Uncle Ben provides the necessary motivation to a young Peter Parker before breathing his last, the movie kind of forgets him afterward. Parker goes out to hunt down the guy who killed his beloved uncle, but soon afterward forgets it after he falls for Gwen Stacy. As far as we know, the guy might be still out there, shooting down old uncles, and inspiring young kids to be a vigilante.

Black Panther Is Now Among The Top 20 Highest Grossing Movies of All Time

Marvel’s Black Panther, the latest addition to the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe has now broken another record. At this point, any record broken by Black Panther has started to look very unsurprising. Yet, to add another feather to its cap, Black Panther has crossed the 1 billion mark and has landed itself among the top 20 highest grossing movies of all time.

Black Panther, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita N’yongo has toppled Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises to claim the 20th spot. While the hype for Black Panther was definitely colossal, but it was beyond expectations to witness Black Panther amassing $1 Billion. The last solo flick from the Marvel Cinematic Universe which crossed the 1 Billion mark was Iron Man 3 back in 2013.

Black Panther currently stands at a 97% rating in Rotten Tomatoes, making it the highest rated live-action superhero movie. The staggering rating helped to boost the pre-booking sales which beat Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Also, it beat Deadpool’s February opening record along with setting the record for the highest ever opening weekends of all-time.

Currently, Black Panther has amassed a worldwide total of $1.101 billion, which puts Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises’ total of $1.084 billion. The Dark Knight Rises has been consistently slipping down from its position, thanks to rise in ticket prices, and an overall boom in the superhero industry. With recent releases like Fate of the Furious, Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Captain America: Civil War, it’s natural for the older movies to lose their previously held spots.

This weekend will mark Black Panther’s run for a full month. With its steady rise, the movie now has set its eyes on Transformers: Age of Extinction ($1.104 billion), Skyfall ($1.108 billion), Lord of the Rings: Return of the King ($1.119 billion). Considering the average reviews from Tomb Raider, Black Panther might still have some fuel to beat Captain America: Civil War ($1.153 billion) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon ($1.123 billion) by the end of its full run. But with Ready Player One and Pacific Rim: Uprising releasing soon, the prospectus of gaining a spot in the top 10 might be dampened. With the legendary Steven Spielberg at Ready Player One’s helm and Oscar-winning director Guillermo Del Toro attached to Pacific Rim: Uprising, Black Panther will face stiff competition at the end of its fifth weekend. Also, it will have to topple Disney’s most famous Frozen, which was released back in 2013. Frozen’s record collection of $1.276 billion is not an easy target for Black Panther, considering all the factors.

Will Black Panther able to gain a spot in the top 10 highest grossing movies of all time? Only time can tell. But it’s nothing short of a miracle to witness the first black superhero movie hit the 1 billion mark. Surpassing everyone’s expectations, Ryan Coogler’s superhero directorial debut and his third collaboration with Michael B. Jordan has shaken the movie industry. Like Wonder Woman, Black Panther has broken the archaic norms of having a white-male superhero to attract the audience. With an all-black cast, Black Panther has become an inspiration for the people of color living all across the world. If the issue of race was not enough to garner the attention, the movie’s focus on every individual character and the acting chops delivered by Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa), Michael B. Jordan(Erik Kilmonger), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Lupita N’yongo (Nakia) and Letitia Wright (Shuri) were sufficient to keep the audience hooked.

On top of that, having Kendrick Lamar, the current G.O.A.T. of rap-music, pen and perform the anthem and other songs for the movie worked wonders. Also, Ryan Coogler had Rachel Morrison, who was nominated for Mudbound in the Academy, as the cinematographer for the movie, which resulted in picturesque views and vivid imagery, capturing the true spirit of the hidden country of Wakanda.  With so many positive forces at play, there is only a very narrow margin of error for the movie to bomb. As the current statistics predict, Black Panther can only move upwards from here.

10 Times Lex Luthor Was A Better Superhero Than Superman

Lex Luthor is the most intelligent being on Earth. His intellect even surpasses that of Bruce Wayne, as he was chosen by Ozymandias in the recent issue of Doomsday Clock over Batman himself. Considered as probably the greatest foe to the Man of Steel, Lex Luthor has gone to some unimaginable levels to rid the planet of Superman.

Whenever Lex Luthor is not busy in scheming grand plans to get rid of Superman and other superheroes, or, feeding his megalomaniac self, he has achieved some impressive feats to be a successful businessman or a politician. While most of his actions have made him a worthy inhabitant of Arkham Asylum, there have been some instances when Lex Luthor was actually a better superhero than the existing heroes. No matter, some of them were obviously for his own selfish interests; his actions have rightfully placed him in the place of heroes. Here are 10 instances where Lex Luthor was a better superhero than heroes like Superman.

Lex Luthor Helps to Rebuild Gotham

In the 1998 series of Cataclysm, a massive earthquake lays waste to Gotham City. In the aftermath, the government abandons Gotham, leaving Batman and his allies to protect the survivors from the rampant crime wave. With most of his resources directed towards protecting the civilians, the rebuilding of Gotham becomes a dream, until Lex Luthor arrives.

The arrival of Lex Luthor helped to rebuild Gotham from its ruins, thanks to his enormous wealth and vast connections. His own company Lexcorp helps to rebuild the city in record time, thus winning the people’s faith and kickstarting his political career.

Lex builds a Utopia

In Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son, an alternate timeline is shown where the pod containing Kal-El lands in Soviet Russia instead of America. Under the tutelage of Joseph Stalin, Superman grows up with Russian values and succeeds Stalin as the next leader of the Soviet Union.

Lex Luthor is a leading scientist in the United States who eventually becomes the President. Also, when Superman attacks America, Luthor successfully thwarts his advances, thus protecting millions from perishing. After the war, Luthor establishes Luthorism and the Global United States. This ultimately accomplishes his plans for a utopia; a place without wars and diseases.

Having no other alternative, Luthor decides to stop Grayson’s heart, only to be attacked by an emotional Batman. But with his cold logic and genius intellect, Lex manages to convince Batman that it’s the only way to save Dick. After taking out Dick from the machine, Lex defuses the bomb which could have killed millions. Then, Lex uses his super-suit to restart Dick’s heart, thus saving the day single-handedly.

Lex Kills Mazahs

Lex once again became the hero in the climax of Forever Evil. In the climax, Lex fights his Earth-3 counterpart Alexander Luthor. Alexander Luthor uses the power of Mazahs, an evil counterpart of Shazam to absorb powers and kill others.

In the fight against Mazhas, both Deathstroke and Bizzaro meet their fatal ends, leaving Lex to protect the Earth. Using his genius wit, Lex determines that his counterpart shares his voice. Hence, he uses his voice to negate the power of Mazahs by bringing down the lightning. Before Alexander can regain his powers, Lex strikes him down.

Lex the Liberator

In Grant Morrison’s Final Crisis, the villain Libra re-organizes the Secret Society of Supervillains and makes them more effective and deadlier than before. They manage to kill Martian Manhunter and bomb The Daily Planet, almost killing Lois Lane.

As Libra is working for Darkseid, he enslaves all the other villains using Justifier helmets which broadcast the Anti-Life Equation to its wearers, robbing them of their free will. Lex once again uses his intellect to free the universe from Darkseid’s tyranny. In the process, he kills Libra. In the end, it turns out Lex was actually working for the resistance against Darkseid all along.

Lex Thwarts General Zod’s Invasion

As Superman is imprisoned in the Phantom Zone, the team led by Zod don’t face any major opposition. In an attempt to save the planet, Lex teams up with Bizzaro, Parasite and Metallo to fight back.

When Superman finally reaches Earth, Lex makes him work on his side to fight against Zod and his army. Though his plans get thwarted, he gets partial credits for saving the day.

During the story, Lex attempts to find a cure for the disease. It turns out, the virus was originally created by Lex himself to attack Superman and his resilient Kryptonian DNA, but the virus became more dangerous than it was intended to be. Though Lex was voted out of the group after this shocking revelation, he manages to find the cure by using Superman’s blood.

Super-Lex Saves the Day.

While addressing to the public, the pre-Flashpoint Superman arrives, making things uglier than before. But before they go all guns out, Doomsday appears and the responsibility to protect Metropolis befalls on the two Supermen. Though Lex’s suit didn’t take Doomsday’s blows well, he managed to provide the necessary support to the pre-Flashpoint Superman by saving civilians.

Lex Kills Darkseid

10 Times Batman Did Something Physically Impossible

While Superman might be considered as the epitome of heroic charisma, representing the entire spectrum of goodness which must be present in a superhero, Batman will always be the one you will call when in deep trouble.

A normal human being, who doesn’t have any superpower whatsoever, yet, managing to go toe-to-toe with the entire Justice League, or sometimes, impressing a New Godlike Darkseid. Batman is the personification of perseverance and determination, the paragon of humanity.

While most fans might use his iconic ‘I’m Batman!’ quote to justify his feats, any true fan knows that it’s his iron will and headstrong attitude which makes him a superhero devoid of any superpowers.

Batman’s mortality has never stopped him from trying a lot of tasks which can actually kill a normal person. His unmatched intelligence along with his peak physicality has given the fans some truly unforgettable moments.

Since his inception, Batman has taken part in some outrageous adventures which makes him the one mortal who is respected by the entire Justice League and also, his rogue gallery. From Grant Morrison’s run to Scott Snyder’s current run, Batman has always triumphed, even in the face of impossible odds.

Here, we have compiled a list where Batman did something physically impossible.

10. Swam Through An Active Volcano

In Dark Days: The Forge, Scott Snyder, and Greg Capullo introduced Dark Knight in his usual fashion; doing something near impossible. In this run, Batman swam through molten lava using his hi-tech suit which can withstand high temperatures. But midway, his suit starts to give up and things get intense. But Batman manages to save a stranded scientist before his suit gives up.

After the event, Batman and the scientist managed to get to the ocean, where Aquaman provides the necessary help to the scientist. But not the one to ask for help, Dark Knight swims to the surface after surviving a grueling swim in the ‘volcano’.

9. Flipped Solomon Grundy With One Hand

In Tom King’s Batman #2, Dark Knight takes a leap of faith by trusting a new generation of heroes to take responsibility. In this issue, the new heroes Gotham and Gotham Girl meet Solomon Grundy, who is laying waste to the city. While both Gotham and Gotham Girl are endowed with superpowers, Solomon Grundy manages to beat the shit out of them, until Dark Knight arrives.

Upon his arrival, Grundy charges towards The Caped Crusader, only to get smashed on the pavement by Batman. While the feat might look as if Dark Knight has superpowers, but in reality, he just used his martial arts skill to throw a much larger person using momentum. But nonetheless, it was a cool moment in recent history.

8. Survived a Cave-in

In Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s ‘Endgame’, Batman and Joker duel for the final time in a crumbling Batcave. After a bloodied fight, the roof of the Batcave collapses, leaving both Batman and The Joker for dead.

But in his usual fashion, Batman emerges out alive from the rubble. After surviving the collapse, he suffers from a temporary amnesia, forgetting his time as The Batman. Without any surprise, he is prepared for such an event. He downloads his past memories which he had stored in a machine, thus becoming The Batman once again.

7. Escaped from a grave

In Grant Morrison’s ‘Batman RIP’, the Black Glove crime syndicate tears down Gotham, along with breaking the Bat both physically and mentally. Thanks to a mental trigger, Batman is transformed into a violent Batman of Zur-Enn-Arrh. In order to put Batman to rest, Dr. Hurt puts him in a straight jacket and buries him alive in a grave.

While the syndicate celebrates, The Joker warns them that Dark Knight will be back with a vengeance. After years of tussle, it’s only natural that The Dark Knight’s arch-nemesis will know about his strengths and weaknesses. It was only a matter of time before Batman returned with a stable mind to kick some serious ass.

6. Takes an impossible shot

Batman is famous for a lot of things. One of those things is his resolve to not use firearms in his quest for justice. But in Detective Comics #710, Batman is forced to use a firearm in order to save innocent lives.

DC Comics’ greatest assassin Deathstroke once paid a visit to Gotham City to take down a crazy villain going by the name of Gunhawk. In order to stop Deathstroke from taking the shot, Dark Knight put innocent lives at risk as he let Gunhawk sail on a boat filled with civilians. In a desperate attempt to disarm him, Dark Knight finally used a sniper rifle, effectively disarming Gunhawk. Deathstroke, being one of the greatest marksmen on the planet praised Batman’s marksmanship, claiming that the target was way beyond normal sight.

5. Defeated the Sensei

In a crossover series, it is revealed that the Sensei is actually the father of the Demon’s Head, Ra’s Al Ghul. In a fight with his own son, the Sensei easily wipes the floor with Ra’s, proving his mettle at such a ripe age. Afterwards, he fights with Batman. Before the confrontation, he boasts that Batman won’t survive for more than a minute against him.

As the fight ensues, the Sensei breaks Batman’s arms, blinds him and eventually stabs him, almost cementing his victory. But with Batman, you can never rule out the odds. In a desperate attempt, Batman lunges towards the Sensei, only to tumble into the fountain of youth. But with the Sensei’s impure spirit, he is immediately annihilated upon his contact with the water, while Batman emerges alive, healed and slightly de-aged.

4. Beat the Justice League

It’s a well-known fact that Batman can win against insurmountable odds if provided with enough prep time. But what happens when you pit The Dark Knight against the entire Justice League without any prep time? The reasonable answer would be that Batman will be blown to smithereens even before throwing a punch. But, that’s not the case.

In ‘Batman: End Game’, the Joker poisons the entire league to force them to attack Batman. Without any prep time, Batman decides to don the Fenrir suit, which was created to counter every League member’s strengths. While he manages to defeat the Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, his suit wasn’t able to take blows from the Man of Steel. Using the final trick up his sleeve, he spits Kryptonite laced gum from the suit to weaken Superman. And then, he punches the crap out of him using miniature red suns, which are mounted upon the suit’s mechanical knuckles. In any universe, there can’t be a Batman who is not prepared.

3. Beat a God

In Grant Morrison’s Final Crisis, Darkseid kidnaps Batman knowing that leaving him alone would be catastrophic in his quest to conquer the universe. For most of the series, Dark Knight is locked as a prisoner. But when he finally manages to break free, he accomplishes something astonishing.

Upon his release, Dark Knight shoots Darkseid with a Radion bullet, which is lethal to New Gods. As the two engage in a lethal duel, Dark Knight manages to have a clean shot, using his excellent marksmanship once again. But Darkseid’s Omega beams also find their way to The Dark Knight, thus killing him in the process.

2. Survived in space

In JLA: Welcome to the Working Week, we get to see the daily lives of the Justice League. The Headquarters of the Justice League is the famous Watchtower, which is placed in the dark and cold vacuum of space. A journalist manages to slip inside the Watchtower to show the people about the daily lives of the world’s greatest superheroes.

The journalist watches Wonder Woman and the Plastic Man hosting a party. He also watches Dark Knight exposing himself to the cold vacuum of space. What? Yes, that’s right. It was seen that Dark Knight asked Martian Manhunter to look out for him, while he latches himself to the door for the exposure. It was an exercise in order to be prepared in case the Watchtower is compromised. The Dark Knight is always prepared.

 1. Defeated Superman

In ‘Batman: Hush’, Superman is under Poison Ivy’s control. Poison Ivy sends Superman to kill Batman for good. In his confrontation with the Man of Steel, Dark Knight uses almost every gadget in his utility belt, even using the Kryptonite ring to weaken Superman.

While it was known that Superman was controlling himself before succumbing entirely to Ivy’s mind control, his blows were still powerful enough to bring down buildings. Using his wits, Batman ordered Catwoman to drop Lois Lane from a building, which made Superman break the mind control. In this case, Dark Knight was able to achieve an impossible feat, survive against the Man of Steel.

10 Biggest Cameos In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnson is full of surprises. While the movie got a polarized reception from the fans, nonetheless, it is filled with a lot of easter eggs and really hard to find cameos. No matter how much invested you were in the movie, it must have been a Herculean task to keep tab of all the cameos which were present in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But thankfully, here at QuirkyByte, we have managed to salvage 10 biggest cameos from the movie, which might tempt you to go for a second watch. But before delving into it, we have to warn you that this post might contain some spoilers. So, proceed with caution.

 1. Mark Hamill

What? How is Luke Skywalker a cameo character in the movie? You might be starting to think that the ‘younger’ version of Luke was a cameo by Hamill, but, that’s not the case. Mark Hamill plays the mysterious Dobbu Scay character in the movie. Still thinking from where did this character come from? Probably, you didn’t wait for the post-credit scene.

2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Like Christopher Nolan, Rian Johnson also tries hard to collaborate with actors with whom he has worked before. Joseph Gordon-Levitt has the distinction of being cast in every movie of Rian Johnson in the past. Joseph Gordon-Levitt confirmed his cameo on social media and now it has been revealed that he voices the role of alien Slowen Lo in the movie. Slowen Lo is a nod to the Beastie Boys, who were teased in The Force Awakens.

3. Justin Theroux

Justin Theroux plays the master codebreaker in The Last Jedi. He is the guy with the read broach who was sought by both Finn and Rose before they were thrown in the jail for a parking violation. Theroux’s cameo is one of the easier ones to notice. Though he’s only on the screen for a few seconds, it can be noticed that he resembles a James Bond-esque casino player in the movie. He is in fact so notorious, that he is banned from using any form of electronic gadget in the building. Also, remember the guy Maz was talking about while explaining his dexterity in bed? Yeah, Theroux is that guy. Definitely a master ‘codebreaker’.

4. Lily Cole

British fashion model Lily Cole has a cameo in The Last Jedi, playing the Party Girl. Cole has previously acted in Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Cole can be found standing next to Theroux in the movie. Though her real name is a mystery, she goes by the name of Lovely.

5. Gareth Edwards

Following his cameo in Rogue One, Rian Johnson returned the favor by giving director Gareth Edwards a cameo scene at the end of the movie. Edwards can be seen as a Resistance fighter in the trenches of salt planet Crait in the ensuing battle with the First Order. Gareth Edwards stands next to the fighter who tastes the salt before the beginning of the battle. Unfortunately, Edwards’ character didn’t make it through the movie. May the force be with him.

6. Gary Fisher

Late Carrie Fisher’s dog was an important part of the actress’ personal life and now he is a vital part of keeping her memory alive. Though Gary is never truly present in the movie, the space dog in Canto Bight is based on his appearance. The alien space dog has bulging eyes, wrinkly features and the same color as that of Gary. Also, news came out that Gary’s ears perked up every time he saw Carrie on the screen while watching The Last Jedi.

7. Warwick Davis

Warwick Davis has always played a role in the Star Wars universe since 1983’s Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi. In The Return of The Jedi, Davis plays the Ewok who finds Princess Leia. Warwick Davis can be seen in Canto Bight as Wodibin, a short, flat-nosed alien gambler. He’s one of a trio from an unusually lucky species who exploit their luck in the casinos.

8. Tom Hardy

Though it’s not confirmed, there were rumors that Tom Hardy was interested in doing a cameo for The Last Jedi. Reports have come out claiming that Hardy was found on the sets of The Last Jedi. It might be possible that he was there in the movie as Stormtrooper devoid of any dialogue.

9. Greg Grunberg

Star Wars

Grunberg has previously worked with J.J. Abrams on a variety of projects in the past. So it was quite obvious, that Abrams would cast him in The Force Awakens. Grunberg plays the role of Snap Wexley, a Resistance pilot who played a major part in destroying the Star Killer base in The Force Awakens. But in The Last Jedi, his role has been heavily shortened.

10. Edgar Wright

The Baby Driver director confirmed his cameo in The Last Jedi on social media. It was a blink-and-you-miss type of cameo. He appears as one of the members of the Rebel Alliance shown briefly on the Raddus. It seems Wright has a very amicable relationship with Rian Johnson.

Kendrick Lamar Teases The Upcoming Black Panther Anthem

Kendrick Lamar, the current reigning rap G.O.A.T, and Grammy Award winner will be penning the anthem for the upcoming solo Marvel flick Black Panther.

Kendrick Lamar

In the recent San-Diego Comic-Con, the final trailer of Black Panther included Kendrick Lamar’s recent release ‘DNA’. The trailer is yet to be released to the less fortunate, who were unable to attend the comic-con event.

But according to sources, the music beautifully complemented the visual prowess of the trailer. Chadwick Boseman, who plays the titular Black Panther and Ryan Coogler, the director of the movie was moved by the inclusion of Lamar’s music. Both of them have said that they felt a personal connection with the trailer when they heard the background music.

The previous trailers of Black Panther have been absolutely mesmerizing. The trailers have teased the technologically advanced nation of Wakanda. With some serious dialogues and intense action sequences, Black Panther has created the much needed hype.

Also, the trailers are splashed with vibrant colors, which make them vividly gorgeous. But another vital fact behind making the trailers truly unforgettable is the choice of music. The first trailer used Legend Has It by Run The Jewels and the second one had Bagbak by Vince Staples. Now with the inclusion of someone as big as Kendrick Lamar, Black Panther has smartly adopted the marketing trick.

The use of pop music in movie trailers has worked brilliantly so far. In Suicide Squad, the trailers incorporated the hugely popular song Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Also, Jared Leto himself asked for the use of Purple Lamborghini by Skrillex and Rick Ross. Similarly, Thor: Ragnarok used The Immigrant Song by Led Zepellin which worked wonders for the movie. The key is not to just use any popular song, but, to use something catchy which is also coherent with the visual imagery.

Kendrick Lamar teased his involvement in Black Panther through one of his popular music video LOVE. At 1:54 mark, one can easily mark Lamar teasing his upcoming music in Black Panther. It’s also a possibility that his music can be a part of the official soundtrack of the movie itself, along with Run The Jewels and Vince Staples.

We can also expect female MCs like Beyonce, Rihanna, and Lauryn Hill to be a part of Black Panther’s official soundtrack. After all, Wakanda has got both male and female warriors, who are more than capable to kick some serious ass. A song from anyone like Beyonce or Rihanna can be used for the Dora Milaje, the elite female-only guards of Wakanda. It is only fair that the female singers share the limelight with their male counterparts.

The popularity of Black Panther can be attributed to Chadwick Boseman’s brilliant performance in Captain America: Civil War. Apart from that, Marvel has been releasing some gorgeous character posters from the movie.

From T’Challa to Erik Killmonger, the posters have received universal praise. Now with Kendrick Lamar in the team, Black Panther can enjoy some more spotlight by infusing the two behemoths of popular culture together. When two insanely popular pop cultures join forces, it can be safe to assume that Black Panther is already tracking for a massive opening upon its release on February 16th, 2018.

Early predictions have shown that Black Panther might have the largest opening for any solo movie released by the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far.

Black Panther, like other solo flicks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, enjoys the backing of a massively popular cinematic universe. While most of the previous solo movies of Marvel have been commercially successful, only a handful of them has managed to get universal acclaim.

With the same generic superhero formula, the solo movies have gone a bit stale for the moment. But with Black Panther, it might change. Till date, Black Panther is the most experimental venture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the majority of the cast being colored, Black Panther has the potential to change the superhero movie industry into something larger than itself. In a time when racial discrimination is still a major concern, Black Panther can challenge the status quo, given; it doesn’t turn into another popcorn flick.

10 Actors Who Needed A Superhero Movie To Revive Their Careers

The boom in the superhero movie industry is a golden age for all the comic book aficionados. To see their favorite heroes being adapted on the silver screen is a dream come true for all the fans. While fans bask in their favorite hero’s glory, people fail to notice what the movie did for the actor. Most of the recent castings for any superhero have been almost flawless so far. What seems like an overnight success for these Hollywood stars can actually be accredited to these superhero movies. But not everyone needs a career revival. Some actors just need a short reboot to get back their glory days.

While superhero movies may be considered a bit amateurish by a lot of people, they fail to notice that it provides the much required acting chops to portray such a vast spectrum of emotions embedded in a single character. Also, a superhero movie helps in lowering the burden of any actor, as most of them have to share screen most of the times. Here, we have 10 actors who needed a superhero movie to revive their careers.

 1. Will Smith

The inclusion of someone like Will Smith is surprising. Smith was once considered as the one having the Midas touch. With consecutive blockbusters, Will Smith was on his way to becoming a true legend. But as with all successful streaks, his streak had to come to an end. After his superhero stint in Hancock, Smith’s Midas touch was nowhere to be found. After a string of disappointments, Smith finally featured in Suicide Squad as the legendary marksman Deadshot. While Suicide Squad received flak from critics and fans, Will Smith shone in the movie, thus reinstating himself as one of the best in Hollywood.

2. Gwyneth Paltrow

Before she was Pepper Potts, Paltrow was known for Shakespeare in Love. And that’s it. A string of predictable movies had made her into a typecast. Her uninteresting acting career took a bold twist when she was chosen as Tony Stark’s love interest in Iron Man.

Interestingly, Paltrow was actually chosen to star in the first two movies. But her popularity soared and she became a true badass in Iron Man 3. Also, her return in Spiderman: Homecoming got all the whistles and cheers it deserved, declaring her triumphant return to the business.

3. Halle Berry

Halle Berry has made herself a household name, thanks to her amazing portrayal of Storm in the X-Men franchise. But before she landed the role of Storm, her career was not nearly stellar as it seems now. With a string of box office failures like Cloud Atlas, Perfect Stranger and The Call, it once seemed that her career was almost over. But fate had different plans for her. Though she got the role of Storm, the X-Men movies were not that successful either, which made Berry leave the role. But again, she was called back to play the badass mutant in X-Men: Days of Future Past and the rest is history.

4. Ryan Reynolds

You must be thinking we are kidding, right? How can someone like Ryan Reynolds be on this list? Well, it’s true. Back in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Reynolds played a really introverted Wade Wilson who was then turned into a horrible CGI monster. From then, it was Reynold’s blood, sweat and tears to make Deadpool a reality. After the release of Deadpool, Reynolds became an overnight A-lister who can actually command studios to get is a way.

5. Anthony Hopkins

While Anthony Hopkins is a legit legend in Hollywood, there was a phase where Hopkins was considered as a typecast actor. With his portrayal as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, he became the go-to guy for psychological thrillers. But all the changed when Hopkins was considered for the role of Odin in Thor (2011). Hopkins broke the stereotype that had been cloaking him for a long time by playing the most badass Norse God in existence. Further, he went on to act in Hitchcock, Red 2 and Westworld, thus establishing the fact that he can act in a variety of roles. And that adventurous spirit can actually be traced back to Asgard.

6. Scarlett Johansson

While Scarlett Johansson is an absolute diva in the Hollywood, before her casting as Black Widow, her career was far from being spectacular. Johansson previously acted mostly in romantic comedies and would have had faded into oblivion if it were not for Marvel. After she landed the role of Agent Natasha Romanoff, Johansson suddenly became one of the most talked celebrities of the world.

While she has been the lead actress in movies like Lucy and Ghost in the Shell, it’s a well-known fact that all of it wouldn’t have happened if she were not Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

7. Willem Dafoe

Willem Defoe didn’t really need a career revival like the other actors in the list, but, he needh-needed push to achieve his current stardom. His portrayal of Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s Spiderman made him the go-to guy for villainous roles. Well, he has been a really scary antagonist in many movies, so that makes a lot of sense.

After Spiderman, Dafoe managed to land leading roles in movies along with his oddball characters. He will again join the superhero industry as Nuidis Vulko in the upcoming Aquaman.

8. Zachary Levi

Zachary Levi was first inducted into the superhero business when he was chosen for Chuck. In the TV series, Levi was a normal guy who is bestowed with some incredible powers which help him turn to a spy. After the series wrapped up, Levi was chosen as one of the members of the Warrior Three in Thor: The Dark World. Though the Warrior Three is not really popular among the fans, Levi still managed to make the scenes unforgettable with his wits and charm. Now, he will be sharing the screen with the DC superheroes as Shazam!

9. Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck was once considered as the golden boy of Hollywood. With his breakout success in Good Will Hunting which won him the first Academy Award back in 1999, Affleck had some amazing movies on his resume. But after disasters like Gigli and Daredevil, Affleck was mostly found behind the camera. Though his directorial debut Gone Baby Gone was a critical success, Affleck needed to get the recognition he truly deserved as an actor.

In 2013, Affleck was chosen for the role of Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The decision received severe backlash from fans. But after the movie was released, the naysayers were forced to eat their own words. Ben Affleck is considered as the closest adaptation of the Dark Knight on the silver screen.

 10. Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr.’s personal problems are a well-known fact. His addiction to cocaine and subsequent arrest had almost ended his career in Hollywood. After his release from prison, he was unemployed as major studios refused to cast him in their movies.

And then Marvel, which was in its nascent stage, took one of the biggest gambles in the industry by casting a former addict as Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Iron Man shattered records and most importantly, his image as an addict and a convict. With such a breakout success, Downey is a real-life inspiration for many.

Star Wars Episode 9 Title Has Been Revealed

While fans are still trying to get over Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm has dropped the exciting news. The working title for the final movie of the trilogy, Episode IX has been revealed. Episode IX is set to be directed by J.J. Abrams who also directed the first movie of the sequel to the original trilogy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Millions of Star Wars fans are waiting for the last episode after the successful run of Star wars: Force awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the global box-office.

After the horrible prequels, we really wanted to see extremely well- directed Star Wars movies onscreen. The Force Awakens had the feel and the tone we wanted, it embraced the magic of original Star Wars movies which made us fell in love with the universe at the first place.

On the other hand, The Last Jedi was an awesome follow-up to Force Awakens which ended with Rey and Chewbacca locating Luke Skywalker at a mystical place, this movie picked the pieces from there and created an intense sci-fi drama that excelled at so many levels. It was a great sequel which has set the stage for the last installment.

The hype around the ninth episode is enormous, spoilers are all around and almost every Star Wars fan has become a detective keeping eyes on anything that comes into the public domain. The teaser trailer is yet to be released and if sources are to be believed it will dazzle the audience.

Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams are already looking ahead to the trilogy’s 2019 finale, which will be developed under the working title of “Black Diamond”. According to fan site Fantha Tracks, the news of Star Wars: Episode IX being developed under this name.

Fantha Tracks has a solid track record for revealing the working names for previous Star Wars movies. Previously, the website had uncovered that Rogue One was being developed under the working title of ‘Los Alamos’ and The Last Jedi was shot using the name ‘Space Bear’.

The name ‘Black Diamond’ has a certain importance, or so it seems. Interestingly, Star Wars: Episode IX will also be produced under the business name of Carbonado Industries (UK) Ltd.

It was initially meant to use for the upcoming Han Solo movie, a spin-off from the Wars universe. The reason was quite obvious. But now, the title is being used for Episode IX and has drawn a few speculations.

According to Fantha Tracks, Black Diamond might be used to signify the Resistance. The Resistance led by General Leia Organa, who was once a member of the Rebel Alliance, has faced many hardships and yet endured to become a major threat to the First Order.

star wars

The story of Star Wars: Episode IX was pitched by J.J. Abrams to Lucasfilm on 15th December, the day on which Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiered worldwide.

Previously, Episode IX was set to be directed by Colin Trevorrow, who directed the blockbuster Jurassic World (2015). But due to creative differences, Lucasfilm had to replace Trevorrow with J.J. Abrams. Chris Terrio, who shot to fame for his Academy Award-winning script for Argo (2012) will co-write Episode IX with Abrams.

According to Terrio, the movie will make it amply clear that prequels are also “happening in the same universe” as new movies. He said:

“I worry a little bit that the questions I was asking were too leading. I was speaking to Chris and he was talking about the OT. I said about how I grew up with the PT and the prequels were my entry point into Star Wars. I asked about elements of the PT coming into 9 and Chris said about how 9 unites all of it”.

He added that 9 definitely makes it feel like they’re all happening in the same universe, and there would be PT elements in 9. They could be visual or thematic, however, he didn’t overtly say that there would be returning planets or characters from the PT or anything.

According to a Reddit user who claims to have met Terrio and Abrams, posted his conversation on social media:

“They said that they’re going to be brave and there will be big surprises. I got the impression that JJ felt like he had to refresh previous Star Wars moments for a modern audience in TFA, and now it feels like they have free reign to do what they want. Apparently they’ve had no interference from Kathleen or Pablo or the Lucasfilm Story Group. 9 is also the film which unites all three trilogies and brings everything together. That’s all they would tell me.”

The director J.J. Abrams has been able to reinvent Star Wars franchise and generate buzz for the last installment of the trilogy. He is coming back for Star Wars 9 with a lot of big ideas with screenwriter Chris Terrio who is working on a screenplay.

He is promising fans that the conclusive installment will be unlike anything they have seen before. He intends to avoid repetitions and bring in many new elements onto the big screen. One of the biggest complaints of ‘The Force Awakens’ was that it seemed a rehash of ‘New Hope’ with latest computer graphics. Here’s what he said:

“Well, it’s certainly something that I’m aware of now working on Episode IX – coming back into this world after having done Episode VII. I feel like we need to approach this with the same excitement that we had when we were kids, loving what these movies were. And at the same time, we have to take them places that they haven’t gone, and that’s sort of our responsibility.”

There is a whole new generation of movie-goers who don’t hate the prequels as much as people above 30 age group. The new Star wars movies are for all generations so it makes perfect sense to give a reference to so-called “prequels”. Here’s what J.J. Abrams said to BBC in an interview:

He has assured the fans that Star Wars 9 will be truly different and satisfying. He feels if he can manage to tie in all the three trilogies, it would be a big milestone. Episode 9 is set to release on December 20th, 2019.

10 Supervillains You Didn’t Know Defeated Iron Man

Being one of the founding members of The Avengers and one of the smartest people alive in the Marvel Universe, Iron Man is a force to reckon with. With his countless suits of armor which are specialized to work in various circumstances and his genius level intelligence, Iron Man has proved his mettle numerous times. Iron Man aka Tony Stark has survived some exceptional battles in the past, surprising even his ardent fans. From standing up against the Mad-Titan Thanos to still being able to salvage his image from the terrible Iron Man 2 (Thanks to RDJ), Iron Man has come out victorious in most battles. But surprisingly, even the armor-clad genius had had his fair share of getting his ass kicked by a number of supervillains. Here, we present you the 10 villains who have defeated Iron Man in the past.

While Godzilla doesn’t even belong to the Marvel Universe, back in 1977, Godzilla appeared as the antagonist in Marvel Comics. Instead of being the protector of nature, Godzilla was depicted as a juggernaut that was hellbent on destroying cities.

In the comics, Godzilla arrived in New York City to satisfy his appetite for destruction. As the headquarters of The Avengers, it was up to them to stop the monster from laying waste to the city. But despite their best efforts, The Avengers were unable to stop the rampaging Godzilla. Even Tony’s ultra-futuristic beams were futile against the radiation powered beast. After utterly humiliating the earth’s mightiest heroes, Godzilla was persuaded by Rob Takiguchi, a young Japanese boy living in the United States, to go back to the sea, whence he came from.

Green Goblin

Though Green Goblin features mostly against Spiderman, there have been times when he faced Iron Man. In the Marvel Universe, Tony Stark is not the sole billionaire. From Black Panther to Norman Osborn, there are a few more billionaires who use their resources either for the protection of the innocent, or to be a massive pain in the back. You know where Norman Osborn lies.

During the events of Secret Invasion, Norman Osborn cunningly placed himself in the league of heroes who protected the earth from a deadly Skrull invasion. After playing the role of a major hero, Osborn went on to replace Stark to be the new head of S.H.I.E.L.D.  As the invasion happened when Stark was the head, Osborn decided to rename the organization as H.A.M.M.E.R. and used all his resources to hunt down Tony Stark.

In a desperate attempt to keep the confidential data away from Osborn’s clutches, Tony decided to wipe his own memory.

Like Green Goblin, Venom mostly belongs to Spiderman’s famous rogue gallery. Though Venom is an anti-hero, his actions put him at odds with the heroes.

In Iron Man #302, Venom tried to play the role of a proletariat, who had to overthrow the bourgeoisie aka Tony Stark. According to Eddie Brock, Tony Stark’s corporate nature was the sole cause behind the misery of the working class. In order to teach Tony a lesson, Venom arrived at his residence, only to find Tony stuck in a wheelchair owing to his previous injuries. While Tony had a few tricks up his sleeve, but it couldn’t do any considerable damage to the alien symbiote, which ripped apart his armor and sent him down a crashing elevator shaft.

Black Widow

Black Widow originally was a Russian spy who was sent to gain information by infiltrating The Avengers. In her time being a spy for the Russians, none of the Avengers suspected her of leaking vital information to a group named the Liberators.

Black Widow successfully managed to find the Hulk’s secret identity and revealed it to the public. Also, she managed to convince the public that Thor and Captain America nurtured anti-American values, which led to public distrust of the entire superhero community.

But in her masterstroke, she seduced Tony Stark to the point where he proposed her to marry him. Having accepted the proposal, she was provided with a black suit of armor by the enamored Tony Stark. But upon getting instructions from the Liberators to invade the U.S., she didn’t flinch while wiping out JARVIS and torturing Tony at gunpoint to exhort his billion-dollar empire from him.

MODOK, an acronym for Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing wastes no time in sharing pleasantries. With his oversized head and floating chair, MODOK may be mistaken for a goofy and a friendly robot, but with his genius level intellect, he has proved over and over again that he is a force to be reckoned with.

In Iron Man #74, MODOK is forced to deal with Iron Man’s suit which was taken over by the Thinker. Upon learning that the suit was being used to tail him by the Thinker, MODOK uses his genius intellect to track Thinker’s location, while also dragging Tony for a ride.

Doctor Octopus

What’s up with Spiderman’s antagonists and the not-so-beloved billionaire playboy? It seems like they have a special liking for Iron Man.

Doctor Octopus is a genius scientist but is also a vengeful man filled with rage and jealousy. When the mad scientist gets to know that Tony Stark managed to build futuristic armors loaded with insane firepower, his ego took a massive hit. To teach Stark a lesson, Octopus escapes from a prison by remotely using his mechanical tentacles. Upon hearing this news, Iron Man reaches to stop the break out only to be thrashed by him. Doc’s superior adamantium tentacles rip apart Iron Man’s armor to shreds. A defenseless Tony Stark literally crawls out, trying to survive.

Years later, Doctor Octopus again defeated Iron Man. Only this time, he decided to humiliate Tony by forcing him to grovel at his feet and call him ‘master’. Damn!

Ghost is the perfect enemy for someone like Iron Man. In a tragic event which led to the murder of his wife, Ghost spiraled into depression. His seething rage led him to develop a state-of-the-art suit made of GhostChips, which he previously made for the company he used to work for. It was also the same company which killed his wife because she was going to reveal that her superiors forced her to be a call girl.

In ‘The Big Bang Theory’ arc, Ghost was hired by A.I.M. to dismantle companies like Roxxon and Stark Industries. But at the same time, Tony Stark had infiltrated A.I.M. only to be found by Ghost. Ghost made sure to give Tony an ass kicking of a lifetime, and even managed to escape without any damage.

Erik Lehnsherr, or more commonly known as Magneto is one of the strongest mutants in the Marvel Universe. Having a total control over magnetism, Magneto is a force of nature.

Though Iron Man has certain suits which are immune to Magneto’s abilities, most of the times, he fails to estimate Magneto’s real power. Just to put it in perspective, in X2, Magneto was able to rip the iron straight out of someone’s bloodstream. If that didn’t impress you, Magneto once deflected a bullet in outer space, while still on Earth.

In his first fight with Iron Man, Magneto mercilessly beats him, leaving no space for any witty maneuver. Then again, Magneto has defeated both Iron Man and War Machine simultaneously, proving his superiority in style.

The Incredible Hulk is a beloved hero who uses his rage to gets stronger and scarier. But most of the times, the Hulk is more of a threat than being truly incredible.

iron man

In World War Hulk, Hulk returns to Earth to have his vengeance against the Illuminati, the group responsible for his exile to Sakaar and the death of his wife Caiera. Upon his arrival, he creates arenas for gladiator matches, often pitting the mightiest heroes against each other. In one instance, he fought Iron Man, who was clad in the famous HulkBuster armor. But the rage within Hulk had reached such heights that Hulk destroyed the armor to smithereens while also destroying the Stark Tower in the process.

Doctor Doom

Victor Von Doom is arguably one of the best comic book villains in existence. With his super genius level intellect, mastery in the mystic arts and his expertise on a vast number of subjects, Doctor Doom is not the one to be messed with. Doctor Doom also has his own armor, which is a bit superior to that of Tony Stark’s.

In his face-off with Iron Man, Doom easily crushed the hero with his superior abilities. Doom manages to easily break into Iron Man’s highly protected base and playfully manages to block all his attacks with a simple wave of his hand.

But the shocking part of the face-off is that Doom had actually come to recruit Stark to track down the Skrull invaders, during the events of Secret Wars. Well, Victor Von Doom might be a genius scientist; he still has a long way to go in learning to ask nicely!

Disney May Produce Batman TV Show If Fox Agrees To The Deal

The news about Disney acquiring the X-Men and the Fantastic Four from Fox has been making the rounds lately. But interestingly, Fox might end up losing the rights to the Batman TV show if the deal ever happens. So far, the major focus of Disney has been the Marvel characters, which it desperately wants to, merge with the successful Marvel Cinematic Studio. But, that’s not the end of it. Disney also wants to acquire the 20th Century Fox, the movie, and TV divisions of the 21st Century Fox.

The acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Walt Disney Studios will bring in many changes to some major franchises of Hollywood. Fox’s major properties like Alien, Avatar, and the Simpsons will then be a part of Disney. Apart from that, the deal might also acquire Fox Searchlight and FX network from Fox Studios.

But one of the most interesting parts of the deal is that the Mouse House might end up acquiring DC’s most profitable superhero, Batman.

Fret not, the deal will only give rights to the Batman TV shows, which date back to 1966 Adam West’s Batman. But getting the rights of a major DC property by a company which owns most of the Marvel rights is surely interesting.

The Batman TV Show dates back to 1966 starring Adam West as The Dark Knight and Burt Ward as the Boy Wonder, Robin. 20th Century Fox retains the production and distribution rights of Batman on the smaller screen, despite Warner Bros. having full authority over The Caped Crusader on the silver screen.

Before Warner Communications (later Time Warner) bought DC Comics, the Batman’s TV rights were sold to ABC by the National Periodical Publications, which owned the comic book publisher. Later, ABC sold the rights to 20th Century Fox, who developed the 1966 Batman TV series for ABC. Currently, the ownership rights of the Batman TV series is being shared among Fox, Warner, and Greenway Productions. This deal makes all the involved parties dependent on one another to produce any new content or merchandise regarding the series.

Currently, Fox is airing Gotham, a TV series which is strongly related to the Batman mythos. The deal between Disney and Fox might have led some fans to think that it is the end of the show, but thankfully, Warner Bros. holds the distribution rights, which means they can transfer the show as per their liking. But, if the deal does actually take place, the rights of the Batman TV series will be transferred to Disney, along with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

Don’t Miss: Harley Quinn Is DC’s New Joker

Harley Quinn Is DC’s New Joker

What happens when the Joker vanishes from Gotham City? Who can replace the Clown Prince of Crime? The answer is pretty obvious; it’s the Princess herself, Harley Quinn. In a shocking twist of events, Harley Quinn has stepped up to be the new Joker in Batman: White Knight. Sean Murphy’s avant-garde approach to the Batman mythos has not just one, but two Harley Quinns in Gotham. Batman: White Knight tells the tale of a cured Joker, who holds Batman accountable for all the madness that has been ravaging the city. But with the recent third issue of the comic book, it’s the story of a revamped Harley Quinn which has left fans awestruck.

In the previous issue, Sean Murphy brought back the psychotic girlfriend of Joker back to the spotlight, providing her a major role in the series. If the twist was not enough, the new Harley Quinn has a different name too; Marian Drews, who is on a mission to fill the vacuum left by the Clown Prince of Crime in the city of The Bat.

The return of a cured Joker didn’t really work out in his grand scheme of plans for the city. Taking a bold step to stop the abusive relationship the Joker had with Harley, it was revealed that in all these years of frenzied madness, Harley had been replaced. The old Harley Quinn or otherwise known as Dr. Harleen Quinzel left the entire crime syndicate, as she had no claim to the now cured Joker, devoid of his psychosis.

But in the shadows, Marian Drews was the imposter, playing the role of Harley Quinn. A sudden change in plans left Drews unsatisfied and crying for the injustice that had been done to her. The issue concluded by teasing the reunion of the Joker and the original Harley, but Marian Drews was already onto her new plans.

Issue #3 returns to the imposter Harley, who is seething in anger for the gross injustice that had been done to her. A cured Joker, who goes by the name of Jack Napier is still under medication, under the care of Dr. Harleen Quinzel, to gain back his sanity.

But despite all this, Marian assumes it’s all a facade. She fell for the Joker persona, not Jack Napier, who is slowly getting rid of his insanity. As far as her attraction towards the Joker is concerned, both Napier and Quinzel are obstacles in her path.

Thus, Marian Drews adopts a completely new persona. From new shoes to new make-up, she even gets the combination of Harley’s diamond pattern and Joker’s acid flower, showing how far she is willing to get back her puddin’. But during all these events, Drews actually becomes the new Joker, with a completely new make-over, which actually complements her own moniker.

On Drew’s interaction with the Mad Hatter, he refers her as the Joker’s stand-in. Marian’s neo-futurist-punk style infusion with the Joker’s persona gives her a fresh look, which has been dubbed as the Neo Joker. Right now, it’s almost impossible to predict what Sean Murphy has got up his sleeves.

With Jack and Harleen trying to go the legal way to rule over Gotham, it’s highly unlikely that the true Clown Prince of Crime is going to return anytime soon. Will Marian Drew become the new arch-nemesis of The Dark Knight? Or is she plotting a even more malicious plan to put both Jack and Harleen in her crosshairs?

harley quinn

Sean Murphy has confirmed that the next issue of Batman: White Knight will delve into the origins of the Neo Joker, explaining, how a presumably ordinary little girl grew up to fall in love with the craziest criminal of DC Comics.

But Murphy has assured the fans that he won’t be berating the classic Harley Quinn, but rather, give her a respectable story. It would be intriguing to see how Drew replaced Quinn, who was bored with competing with The Batman for her puddin’s attention.

Bringing in a completely new Joker is a terrific start for Batman: White Knight. In the series, the Joker used the Mad Hatter’s mind control card to manipulate Clayface into dissolving his body into all the other members of the Rogue Gallery, to gain absolute control over them. But the masterstroke of the series so far has to be Marian finding out about the Joker’s plan and using the Mad Hatter’s mind control technique to gain control over the members of the Rogue Gallery. The Joker has always been a cunning mastermind in such situations, but it’s thrilling to see a newbie outsmarting the Clown Prince of Crime, just under his nose.

10 Terrible Superhero Movies Which Scored A Higher RT Score Than Justice League

Justice League, the recent addition to the DCEU roster was underwhelming in the box-office collections. But apart from that, the superhero mash-up also failed to score a decent score on review site Rotten Tomatoes. With a dismal score of just 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, Justice League failed to impress a lot of critics. Despite being studded with a stellar star cast, Justice League managed to open with $95m, which was quite less than the expected opening collection.

Justice League

But as usual with the DCEU movies, Justice League had its fair share of a polarizing fan base. With a considerable number of fans not shying away from showing their contempt for the movie, another dedicated faction of fans has wholeheartedly defended the movie. The contrast between Snyder and Whedon’s directorial skills is apparently cited as the follow-up to the polarizing reaction Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received. With some fans praising Whedon’s light humor and others criticizing for ‘too many jokes’, Justice League suffered in its quest to shatter box office records.

But nothing comes close to Rotten Tomatoes rating, which completely butchered any hope for the movie to even gain huge profits, let alone achieve the elusive billion dollars. But despite a rotten score of just 40%, the audience score for Justice League is 82%, which is a bit encouraging. Justice League is a flawed yet enjoyable movie, especially when compared to some truly awful movies that fared far better with the site…

Thor: The Dark World

One of the weakest movies of the successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Dark World failed in some major parts which define a superhero movie. Shoddy writing, a forgettable villain, uninteresting characters and forced humor entirely butchered the movie.

Though there were some amazing action sequences, nonetheless, Thor: The Dark World failed to impress the audience. But surprisingly, it scored a decent rating of 66% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Iron Man 2

iron man franchise actors

If there’s one movie which gets unanimous contempt from all the fans, this is it. Iron Man 2 is a fundamentally wrong movie which was a huge letdown after the highly successful Iron Man. The flaws were so glaring that even the charismatic Robert Downey Jr. couldn’t salvage the movie.

The movie surely boasted of some brilliant scenes, but an underdeveloped villain and a choppy narration failed to live up to the hype of the first Iron Man movie. Iron Man 2 has 73% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite unbelievable.

The Amazing-Spide-Man 2

The collective effort of Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Marc Webb went into vain as corporate greed took apart the movie piece by piece. In a desperate attempt to keep hold of the rights, Sony Pictures rebooted the Spiderman franchise, which was actually supposed to be a sequel to Sam Raimi’s successful Spiderman-Trilogy (barring Spiderman 3, obviously).

The film surely has some great CGI, action sequences and great chemistry between the lead actors, but the badly written plotline and horrible antagonists couldn’t save the movie. The most egregious mistake of this movie was wasting the talents of Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, which can never be forgiven.

X-Men: Apocalypse

It would have been spectacular to look at the faces of the creative team and the producers who were present during the making of X-Men: Days of Future Past. What could have gone wrong with the ensemble of some of the best actors on the planet and a truly terrifying villain from the comic books? EVERYTHING!

Apocalypse is supposed to be in the same league as that of Thanos, and yet, the movie successfully managed to make him look like a doofus who gets beaten by Quicksilver. The script was so terrible, that even Oscar Isaac failed to save it with his charisma and elegance. Also, the movie ignored strong female characters like Storm and Psylocke, which was one of the major reasons behind the backlash it got. But nonetheless, X-Men: Apocalypse managed to score 47% in Rotten Tomatoes.

Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk was an ambitious movie which wanted to take a philosophical narrative. Well, a superhero movie with some philosophy and psychology sounds great, doesn’t it? Quite surprisingly, it backfired for Hulk. The reason being pretty straightforward, the movie didn’t really know what it really wanted. The entire movie was a mixture of different plotlines which were far from being coherent.

By 2003’s standard, Hulk’s CGI was pretty darn good. But a good CGI can’t save a movie if the characters in it cannot resonate with each other. And how can you forget those Gamma Dogs? Despite so many flaws, Hulk managed to score a decent score of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Power Rangers

Revisiting the good ol’ ‘90s is a profitable business. Enter 2017; we had a re-vamped Power Rangers of the classic ‘90s. The movie was a hybrid of The Breakfast Club and a generic superhero movie. Doesn’t sound terrible, does it? Well, it didn’t work out that well for the movie.

Power Rangers got the casting and the acting performance right. The chemistry between the characters was pretty great. But, being a superhero movie, it failed to cater to the action and adventure part of the movie. A lacklustre performance in the action department left the audience dazed and utterly unsatisfied. Yet, Power Rangers scored a tad bit higher of 44% on Rotten Tomatoes.

One of the most charismatic and witty characters from the DC/Vertigo comics got the green light back in 2005 to get a shot at the silver screen. In the history of miscasting, Constantine pretty much ranks at the top. Keanu Reeves is a versatile actor with a wide range of abilities, but, was he fit for Constantine? Absolutely not! It’s not the lack of his blonde hair or the lack of a sexy British accent; it boils down to the comfort zone of Reeves to play the cynical, wise-cracking chain-smoking magician.

The biggest problem with the movie is not even the blunder of casting Reeves as Constantine. It’s the dull approach which turned some greatest one-liners from the comics to a soulless adaptation which left the audience yearning for the interval. Well, Constantine still sits at 45% on Rotten Tomatoes.

After the unprecedented success of Spiderman and X-Men in the early 2000s, Fox thought it could make some more profit by bringing in The Man Without Fear to the silver screen. Naturally, fans of Daredevil were excited to see their favourite superhero on the silver screen. Well, the excitement fizzled out faster than a soda bottle.

Daredevil gives a tough competition to Constantine if miscasting is considered. Casting Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, and Colin Farrell were the first of many mistakes. Corporate greed along with studio interference managed to paint a horrible image of arguably one of the best comic book heroes for years. The film still managed to score 44% despite having a visible contrast between the director’s gritty vision and the studio’s desperate attempts to create another friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.

Iron Man 3

If there’s one movie which can compete with Iron Man 2 for the title of incompetency, then it’s this one. The successor to a really terrible movie, it didn’t have much to do to be more likable than its predecessor. Well, that didn’t happen. The movie manages to put in so many plot twists that at the end of the movie, you feel like you watched Inception, but in reality, it was a B-grade movie with some cheap vodka.

From utterly destroying Mandarin to not getting any worth of money out of someone like Ben Kingsley, this movie got everything wrong. And yet, Iron Man 3 successfully sits at a staggering score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Spiderman 3

Ah, how could you forget the crown jewel of horrible movies without including Sam Raimi’s Spiderman 3? This movie had Sandman, Venom and New Goblin. That sounds amazing! Let’s start by butchering Venom, one of the greatest villains from Spiderman’s rogue gallery.

Living up to Sam Raimi’s Spiderman 2 was definitely a mammoth task. But, the moment corporate greed sets in to capitalize on the success of the previous movies; it can be assured that the movie is as good as dead. From questionable casting choices to snappy plotlines, Spiderman 3 got everything wrong which can possibly happen in a superhero movie. By this time you won’t be surprised anymore, Spiderman 3 has a rating 62% on Rotten Tomatoes. Kudos!

Hugh Jackman Turned Down James Bond Role

Hugh Jackman is fairly a household name by now. After portraying the iconic role of the Wolverine for over 17 years, Jackman retired the character in Logan. But according to recent reports, Hugh Jackman also had a chance to play another iconic character on the silver screen.

The Australian superstar recently spoke about being offered the role of the most scintillating British spy, James Bond. Jackman turned down the offer to play 007, whose immediate predecessor was Pierce Brosnan. But he had some valid points to turn down the offer, so it seems.

“I was about to do X-Men 2 and a call came from my agent asking if I’d be interested in Bond,” said Jackman in an interview with Variety. “I just felt at the time that the scripts had become so unbelievable and crazy, and I felt like they needed to become grittier and real. And the response was: ‘Oh, you don’t get a say. You just have to sign on. I was also worried that between Bond and X-Men, I’d never have time to do different things,” Jackman said.

The extravagance of the then Bond-era movies was one reason for Jackman to not sign up for the role. Also, taking up the lucrative offer would have restricted him from exploring new ventures, as both Wolverine and James Bond require immense dedication, both mentally and physically.

The silver lining which came out of this was the decision taken by the studio to reboot the entire series. The pre-Craig era Bond had started to go stale with its over-the-top action sequences, heavy usage of Computer Generated Imagery and cheesy one-liners.

The decision to start a fresh chapter in the Bond movies was one of the most profitable maneuvers taken by the studio.

Daniel Craig currently plays the suave British Spy and will probably feature in his last Bond movie. His portrayal of a vulnerable, dark and mysterious James Bond has been well received by the audience and is reflected in the box-office collections as well.

Starting from Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), and the critically acclaimed Skyfall(2012), Daniel Craig has redefined the approach towards James Bond. His upcoming unnamed Bond movie is being called Bond-25 and is set to release in late 2019.

Hugh Jackman

Though Hugh Jackman denied once-in-a-lifetime chance to play Agent 007, his career has been nothing short of stellar. From Prestige to Les Miserables, Jackman has deftly managed to make a name for himself among the big stars of Hollywood. His last venture as Wolverine in Logan was universally acclaimed by fans and critics alike. For diehard fans of Jackman, his latest movie, The Greatest Showman will be premiering in theatres on December 20th, 2017.

Avengers: Infinity War: Is Captain America Leading The Secret Avengers?

The Avengers: Infinity War trailer took the internet by storm with its multitude of characters and the big baddie Thanos. While the threat of Thanos in his search for the Infinity Stones is definitely fascinating, but, the icing on the cake would be Steve Rogers/Captain America finally donning a full beard. Though currently, Captain America is in exile, it’s obvious that he has a major role to play. From his disappearance to the company he’s been keeping, the Avengers: Infinity War trailer has raised a lot of questions regarding the First Avenger. While we do see Captain America back in the leadership role, but is his team really the MCU version of the Secret Avengers?

But who are the Secret Avengers?

Following the events of Civil War and the subsequent fallout between #TeamStark and #TeamCap followed by the ‘Secret Invasion’ storyline, Captain America had to be reinstated to service after breaking with the government over the Superhero Registration Act.

The new team led by Steve Rogers consisted of Black Widow, Agent 13, War-Machine, Nova, Ant-Man, Valkyrie, and Beast. Later, Hawkeye, Mockingbird, Hulk, Maria Hill and Agent Coulson were also inducted into the team.

Basically, the Secret Avengers act like a Black-Ops team who had a proactive approach towards neutralizing threats in contrast to the traditional way of reactive approach, which was still followed by the original Avengers.

But where do the Secret Avengers stand in the current MCU?

As the Avengers: Infinity War trailer revealed, Steve Rogers was called to battle by Tony Stark by using the same phone Steve had left with Tony at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Though the status of the rocky relationship between the billionaire and the patriot is yet to be addressed, Avengers: Infinity War trailer has shed some light on it. In Spiderman: Homecoming, it was seen that Tony Stark had been working on a prototype shield which was based on the original shield used by Steve Rogers. It might be a possibility that Tony Stark has sanctioned the creation of the Secret Avengers while maintaining a facade with the government.

One of the most iconic scenes from Avengers: Infinity War trailer was the final shot where the Winter Soldier/Bucky, Black Panther, Black Widow, War Machine, Falcon, and Hulk are following Cap’s lead, possibly into the battleground. Currently, Scarlet Witch and Vision’s status are yet to be revealed, but it has been known that both War Machine and Vision were sympathetic to Cap’s cause while still siding with Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War.

Whether Vision and War Machine were already aware of the Secret Avengers or Avengers: Infinity War will spend some time on a not-so-friendly re-union that is yet to be addressed.

Coming back to the original Secret Avengers from the comics, the team also had Valkyrie, Nova, Moon Knight and Beast. While Valkyrie has been a surprising hit among the fans, thanks to the spectacular performance by Tessa Thompson in Thor: Ragnarok, Moon Knight and Nova can be added to the team earlier than you expected.

The Nova Corps was shown in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). If rumors are to be believed, MCU has grand plans for Moon Knight in the upcoming years. And, if the deal between Fox and Disney gets finalized, we might finally witness Beast joining the legions of the Secret Avengers.

Avengers: Infinity War

After Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2, MCU can also showcase the different divisions of the original Avengers. With Secret Avengers, the road can be paved for the New Avengers, West Coast Avengers and even, the Uncanny Avengers! The Secret Avengers acting as a Black-Ops team dealing with espionage is a very interesting venture which can be easily exploited by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers: Infinity War opens in theatres on May 4, 2018.

The Justice League’s Original Script Could Have Saved the Movie

While the release of the Justice League was a dream come true for many hardcore DC fans, but it has not been able to live up the hype and its original mythos. The movie underperformed both in the realms of critical review and box-office collections. After the personal tragedy which befell on Zack Snyder, the throne was passed on to director Joss Whedon (Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron).

But repeated studio interferences and corporate greed butchered the original vision of Snyder and also didn’t leave much room for Whedon to pursue his creativity. While a lot of rumors regarding the original script couldn’t please all the fans, but it was universally accepted that it was way better than the crammed up storyline which had to follow the ridiculous 2-hour mandate.

Zack Snyder’s original script was not just a darker or a lengthier version, it actually delved into the exciting DC Universe which the fans have been craving for. From the appearance of Darkseid to the Green Lanterns, the original script had everything which can be described as a DC fan’s wet dream.

The original script was not a sure-shot recipe for success, but it was ambitious and had a lot of fan service which might have delivered the box-office success Justice League truly deserves. With the rushed script facing maximum fire from the critics and the fans, a lot of demand has been spiking for the original vision of Snyder.

Recently, director Kevin Smith, a longtime comic book aficionado re-ignited the interest for the original script by praising the presence of a corporeal Darkseid in the movie. This point holds considerable weight because that’s what has been capitalized in the entire movie. And for a movie riddled with Parademons, Apokolips and Mother Boxes, an ending with the arrival of Darkseid would have been more coherent than the shoddily executed ending.

With the stupid 2-hour mandate plaguing the Justice League, it was probably decided to remove Darkseid from the movie. Or maybe, was it to not take the Marvel way of introducing the big baddie? We never know, but what we surely know is that this decision proved quite expensive for the studio. By removing a major character, you also remove a significant scene which might have been coherent to the movie.

Going back to the Knightmare scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the importance of Darkseid in Justice League gains some momentum. In the scene, Batman stands on a scorched earth, filled with parademons, while looking up to the sky in search of the ruler of Apokolips.

But the most important part of the vision was an evil Superman, who was probably mind controlled by Darkseid. The vision was a warning for Batman to unite the heroes to stop the dream from becoming a reality. But apparently, the studio deemed it correct to throw it straight out of the window.

But how does this affects the movie on a huge scale? Well, it makes Steppenwolf a dumb villain who just wants to destroy Earth without any strong motive.

The ancient mother boxes guarded by humans, Atlanteans, and the Amazonians, are a source of great power which can destroy planets. But did the movie invest some time in explaining them? You wish. From the very first scene, the studio decided to throw away logic behind the mother boxes. Instead, the filmmakers decided to go with the dumb way of drawing three mother boxes whenever a parademon died, or as a mural on a wall where Bruce Wayne tried to recruit Arthur Curry/Aquaman. This is just lazy writing at best.

According to the original script, the mother boxes actually contain Steppenwolf’s mother Heggra. The communion of the three boxes would grant Heggra her true power, which in turn could have been used by Steppenwolf to conquer Earth and end his exile from Apokolips. But after the arrival of Superman and Steppenwolf’s subsequent defeat, he goes back to Apokolips to either get punished/killed by Darkseid himself. Then, Darkseid takes further interest in the Kryptonian present on the Earth and hence starts the true invasion.

Justice League

The most obvious omission would be the lack of Green Lanterns in the movie when an invasion of this scale is taking place. As the protectors of the entire universe, there should have been at least one Lantern present alongside the League to fight Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.

justice league

According to the original script, the Green Lanterns were a part of the movie, but in the cameo instead of a full-fledged scene. In the cameo, Bruce Wayne wakes up at night (an off day for The Dark Knight) to get a visit from two Green Lanterns, Kilowog, and Tomar-Re. But sadly, the Lanterns never saw the light of the day (sorry for the pun).

The Justice League movie has a strong ensemble cast including Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder-woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Mamoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). The movie is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio based on the characters of DC comics. The story of Justice League will follow the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and mark the Phase 1 of DC Cinematic Universe. The movie will assemble the greatest DC superheroes under one roof against a terrifying adversary Steppenwolf.

At the end of the Batman v Superman, the Man of Steel was dead, while Batman and Wonder Woman had begun to assemble the Justice League, an elite team of superheroes to fight a supervillain Steppenwolf who has been awakened in the wake of events. The Steppenwolf is basically the military general of Darkseid who have sent parademons to interrogate/kidnap Batman and Earth’s scientists to retrieve Apokoliptian Motherbox which is the most powerful object in the realm.

Initially, the center of attention was Ben Affleck’s Batman as he is responsible for putting together an elite team of superheroes to protect the planet from the ultimate destruction. This was also reflected in the first line of the old synopsis.

Here’s the synopsis of JL:

“In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of meta-humans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions”.

But in the new synopsis, the role of Wonder Woman was shown to be prime. Here’s the new official synopsis:

“Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of meta-humans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

We demand the original Snyder cut from the studio and we shall not rest until then.

Armie Hammer Reveals The Brutal Fight In Justice League Mortal

With the most anticipated Justice League finally in the theatres, yet, not living up to the hype for most fans and critics alike, a lot of fans have been speculating about the canceled ‘Justice League Mortal’. First announced in 2007, Justice League Mortal was set to be directed by Mad Max: Fury Road’s director George Miller. But due to the writers’ strike and other internal conflicts, production was delayed to 2009. Finally, the entire project was scrapped, paving way for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, which was the stepping stone to the current DC Extended Universe.

The underwhelming performance of the Justice League, both critically and at the box office has led to a spike in interest for the canceled Justice League Mortal. Thankfully, Armie Hammer, who was supposed to play the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the scrapped project, has shed some light on the matter. In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hammer has revealed a very interesting piece of news which is bound to make hardcore DC fans weak in their knees. In the movie, Megan Gale was supposed to play Wonder Woman and her entrance was nothing short of jaw-dropping. With a brutal entrance by severing the head of a Minotaur, she could have easily given Gal Gadot a fierce competition.

But, Hammer has something more in his closet. Yes, the fight between two gods. Considering George Miller’s attention to detail, the fight between Wonder Woman (Megan Gale) and Superman (DJ Cotrona) could have paved a completely new path for ultra-realistic superhero battles.

“Superman and Wonder Woman have or had the most brutal fight with each other that you have ever seen,” Hammer said. “And I mean it would be like when two superheroes actually fight. Like, they destroy multiple cities like by accident ’cause they’re just like, they don’t even see anything else other than like trying to destroy the other person in front of them and it was incredible. At one point they destroy an aircraft carrier by accident and then also the death count was going to be extremely high.”

A scenario of an ultra-realistic fight between the two strongest characters from the DC Universe sounds very tempting, considering the fact that the current Justice League was cut short by Warner Bros which in turn led to minimal fight scenes between a temporarily hazed Man of Steel and the rest of the Justice League. A movie which could have been totally different from its current edition is definitely worth a discussion.

Justice League Mortal had also roped in Jay Baruchel for the role of supervillain Maxwell Lord. In the movie, Baruchel’s Lord resembled Julian Moore’s character from the Kingsman: The Golden Circle. But instead of drugs, Maxwell Lord had an evil plan to lace all the addictive junk food with nanobots to create his own army of cyborgs.

“Then at one point like he pushes a button that’s like activate and these nanobots literally like kill almost every person that has eaten his food and turn them into these like cyborgs,” Hammer said. “Then all of a sudden you have to fight these nanobot humans who are now programmed to be like ‘kill all these guys.’

With Snyder/Whedon’s Justice League failing to live up to the expectations of many and also underperforming at the box-office, it’s tempting to take a peek at the canceled Justice League Mortal (only if we were the Flash). The grand battle between the last Kryptonian and the Princess from Themysicira could have redefined superhero movies as we currently know. But, the only silver lining which came out from abandoning the project is probably the fact that there could have been two Batman(s) existing simultaneously.

As the project was pitched in 2007 and was delayed to 2009, Christopher Nolan’s universally acclaimed The Dark Knight could have competed with Justice League Mortal, which would have been catastrophic for Warner Bros, considering the massive production and distribution costs of the two movies.

Another interesting rumor regarding Armie Hammer might just soothe your nerves if you wanted to see him as The Dark Knight. According to the popular rumors, Armie Hammer might play Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

10 Craziest Deadpool 2 Fan Theories That Might Actually Be True

Way back in 2014, the test footage of Deadpool took the internet by storm. Cometh 2016, the Ryan Reynolds starring Deadpool which was directed by T.J. Miller shattered box office records with just a meager production budget of $58 million. With such unprecedented success, Deadpool 2 was pushed into the pipeline. Staying faithful to the character, the teasers have been hilariously satirical. But frustratingly, they have stayed mum on the plot…or is it so? Thanks to the devout fans of The Merc with the Mouth, some light has been shed on the possibilities for the sequel. From antagonists to X-Men cameos, here are 10 craziest Deadpool 2 fan theories that might actually be true.

Uncle Ben died in the first teaser

Remember the first ever teaser of Deadpool 2? The one where the friendly neighborhood assassin mocks the Man of Steel’s usual style of going into a telephone booth to change his costume. While a lot of people focused on that part of the teaser, a detailed eye managed to delve a bit deeper. The man who was shot dead on the street was…UNCLE BEN!

This theory was given more weight when Deadpool 2 director David Leitch answered a question concerning the man’s identity during an interview with The Huffington Post. “That’s a really interesting question. I think that people should continue to theorize who that old man was.” If that wasn’t enough, there are also nods to both Spider-Man and Uncle Ben in the second teaser trailer.

Hope Summers plays a major role in Deadpool 2

For the uninitiated, Hope Summers was the first mutant child who was born after the catastrophic events of M-Day. M-Day is the event in which Scarlet Witch strips a prominent number of mutants of their abilities, reducing the mutant population of millions to a few hundred. How is Hope Summers connected to Deadpool 2? Well, after the events of M-Day, her protection from Bishop was entrusted to Cable by no other than Cyclops.

In the first teaser, Hope’s name is clearly written on the telephone booth. Also, in the first released image of Josh Brolin as Cable, there’s a teddy bear on his utility belt, which indicates the presence of a child.

Deadpool 2 might be connected directly to New Mutants

While Deadpool 2 is set to release on June 1st, 2018, Fox has also a new movie called New Mutants releasing on April 13th, 2018. While these movies might be the beginning of the X-Force, there might still be some doubts regarding the link between these two movies. The most obvious link is probably the temperamental teenager from the first Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead. With her bright yellow and black costume, it has been speculated that Deadpool exists in the same timeline. Interestingly, Deadpool also debuted in the New Mutants comics.

Cable will be a messiah figure

In the comics, the Askani Clan – a sisterhood which elevated the ideologies of X-Men in the 37th century as a religion used time travel to propagate the same in the present era. Considering Cable’s origins, it’s very much possible that Cable might be acting as a prophet in the search of followers in the 21st century. After all, everyone has got one, grumpy, heavily armed Uncle from the future.

There might be a new Wolverine

While Logan marked the end of Hugh Jackman, the tale of Wolverine is yet to end (we hope). The throne was passed from Logan to his short-tempered and badass surrogate daughter Laura, or more commonly known as X-23. Though it’s really a long shot to see X-23 kicking some serious ass in Deadpool 2, for you know, TIMELINES, there’s still some chance that she could have hitched a ride with Cable to the current timeline.

Cable might have an evil clone

In the comics, Cable’s doppelganger was stolen from the Askani Clan by Apocalypse to become his next vessel. But after things went south, this murderous clone who goes by the name of Stryfe became the major antagonist of the Messiah War.

While Deadpool 2 has teased heavily about the Askani Clan, a recent image posted by Josh Brolin shouting at a cracked mirror in his Cable costume has piqued the possibility exponentially.

Wade Wilson was a mutant from the beginning

This might be a long shot but bear with us. Before Wade Wilson went through the horrible operation and gained his regenerative abilities, he was already a brilliant marksman. By brilliant, we don’t mean Hawkeye/Arrow level brilliance. It’s actually way above that. His natural inclination towards marksmanship might not just be a talent…it might have been his primary mutant ability.

The movies take place in X-Men comics from Logan

Remember the comics which Laura possessed in Logan? While the comics irked Wolverine, but it might have deeper inclinations that it seemed. Upon closer inspection, the Colossus which featured in Deadpool was exactly the same in the comic book. Could it be possible that the current movies are actually present in that book?

Vanessa is Death

In the first movie, Wade Wilson’s lady love, Vanessa Carlysle was shown to be a normal human being exhibiting no special powers. While her name is quite similar to another mutant named Copycat, it just might not be the case. She might be Death, the one true love of Deadpool. This arises from the fact that a commitment-phobic Wade decided to settle with Vanessa. Also, the day Vanessa entered Wade’s life, he was diagnosed with cancer! And how can you possibly explain the fact that she survived the fall while being trapped in a glass box?

Deadpool is the antagonist

The one theory to rule them all. Remember the scene from the first movie, where Deadpool manages to saw off his hand to escape from Colossus? Well, what if the sawed-off hand managed to regenerate into…an evil Deadpool? (As if he is not evil already) In the comics, Deadpool has fought with an evil version of himself which was created out of his discarded limbs. It might be a long shot, but it can surely prove to be pivotal to make Wade and Cable join forces.
