Avengers: Infinity War – Here’s The Reason Why Hawkeye And Soul Stone Are Not Shown In The Trailers

Avengers Infinity War will mark the beginning of the end of all the major plots and storylines that have started in the three phases of MCU. It is the greatest comic book ensemble movie in the history of Hollywood, no studio has ever tried anything of this scale and magnitude. We will witness history as this is totally unprecedented.

According to sources, there will be around 67 major comic book characters which will be featured in the movie and half of them are superheroes. The first official trailer showed us Thanos in action for the very first time as he was only seen in the post-credits of Marvel movies until now.

With the explosive second trailer of the much awaited Avengers: Infinity War out, the Marvel camp has gone pretty much berserk. To say the least, the latest trailer is probably the best trailer to come out in recent history. With some pretty bone-chilling scenes of Thanos’ infamous Black order to Captain America standing up against The Mad Titan, the trailer is every fan’s wet dream.

But the trailer does raise two important questions which might be pivotal to the entire plot:

Where is Hawkeye in the trailer?

Where is the Soul Stone?

In both the trailers, we haven’t yet had a glimpse of the greatest marksman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though it is widely believed that Clint might have actually retired after the events of Captain America: Civil War, it’s definitely not going to be the case. When Steve Rogers helped Clint and the other captured members of #TeamCap at the end of Captain America: Civil War, Clint most probably went back to his cozy little home in the countryside to his wife and kids.

But now with Thanos on the planet, the Avengers would definitely need their master archer back, and, it’s too big an opportunity to miss for Clint. So, what if, both Hawkeye and the Soul Stone are linked to the plot, instead of being mutually exclusive to each other?

The recent costume of Hawkeye has hinted to his transformation into Ronin. When Hawkeye’s story surfaced for Avengers 4, it was shown that Hawkeye would undergo the transformation into Ronin, after suffering a huge personal loss.

According to MCUExchange, a reliable source for comic book news said:

“one specific tragic event will shatter Clint Barton’s world and he will give up his identity as a Hawkeye and embrace a new secretive identity of Ronin”.

According to the inside sources, the event or circumstances of Clint are so dark that studio may well cut those scenes during the editing process. The best guess is that Thanos’ Black Order may have targeted his family and killed all of them which would push him to the breaking point and put him on a darker path.

So, is Hawkeye on a clandestine mission the entire time the big guns from the Avengers are trying to repel Thanos and his Black Order?

It was also believed that Ant-Man would retire after the events of Captain America: Civil War. But, that’s not the case. Ant-Man will be returning for Ant-Man and the Wasp, and most definitely for Avengers: Infinity War. While there’s a huge chance to see Ant-Man and Hawkeye returning to the screen in style, our bet is that Hawkeye/Ronin will turn out to be the unexpected savior when the Mighty Avengers fall.

In the trailer, it’s quite evident that Wakanda might fall. From toppling down the colossal Hulkbuster to isolating Steve Rogers to fight Thanos alone, it’s a possibility that the advanced Wakandan army might not triumph against Thanos’ extra-terrestrial army. So how does Hawkeye become the unexpected hero in this case? It gets quite interesting from here.

If the rumors are to be believed, Hawkeye will face a huge personal loss which will transform him into Ronin. In Japanese, Ronin translates into a Samurai without any master, or more specifically, a lone warrior. With Clint losing his family to Thanos’ attack, his new persona of Ronin is more violent and ruthless, with a sole goal; revenge. But that’s not the only reason for keeping Hawkeye out of any promotional material.

Some previously released set photos of Avengers: Infinity War had revealed the set position to be Japan. Also, there was news regarding the Yakuza, or, the Japanese Mafia. According to reports, there might be a sequence with the Yakuza in the movie. With so many hints, it’s not hard to guess that the most important object in the universe might actually be hidden in Japan. Based on these speculations, Hawkeye/Ronin could come out of his retirement to secure the Soul Stone.

Till now, Marvel has been successful in keeping the location of the soul stone under the wraps. While there are so many ways to link the Soul Stone with the ancient history of Japan, it’s pretty much clear that the Avengers will need an expert in clandestine missions to recover the final stone. The race between Thanos and The Avengers to lay hands on the Soul Stone determines the fate of Earth, and also, the Universe.

If the ending of the second trailer of Avengers: Infinity War is to be considered, it’s quite clear that ‘The Battle of Wakanda’ sequence will result in the defeat of the joint task force of Black Panther, Captain America, The Winter Soldier/White Wolf, The Hulk, Black Widow and The War-Machine, along with the Dora Milaje and rest of the Wakandan forces. Will Clint Barton clinch his moment of glory at the end of that battle?

Nobody can wait any longer for this movie to hit the screens. The cast is beyond amazing as it has got so many great actors including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Pratt (Starlord), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Wong (Wong), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Dave Bautista (Drax), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Evangeline Lilly (Wasp), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Josh Brolin (Thanos).
