List of All The Renewed Marvel And DC TV Shows

It’s that time of the year! The time where some hearts break and others rejoice. Yep, it’s the time when the fate of most TV shows is decided by the broadcasters. With a massive increase in the number of superhero TV shows, there has also been a gradual rise in the viewership and the fanbase of these shows. But that hasn’t exactly reflected in the broadcasters’ decisions to cancel or renew some much-beloved shows. While fan-loved shows like Lucifer faced the brunt of the axe, mediocre shows have managed to please the broadcasters for another season. Here, we have the list of all the renewed Marvel and DC TV shows which managed to get past this dreadful time of the year.

The Flash

The Flash is currently in its fourth season and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. After its spectacular first season, The Flash showed some signs of fatigue as the writing went a bit downhill with each season. From more melodrama to cheesy one-liners, The Flash has been dealing with poor writing for a while. But still, there’s a lot of potential from the series and the broadcasters have decided to exploit it in the renewed fifth season.

Arrow

CW’s flagship superhero show Arrow has been dealing with mediocre writing since its third season. While Arrow had some strokes of brilliance in a few episodes, the former grit of the show is nowhere to be found. The introduction of Prometheus was definitely one of the best moments in recent history of the show. Having said that, the producers have promised the disgruntled viewers that Arrow will return for its seventh season with the same grit and violence for which it became famous at first place. To take it a notch further, the show will also have Beth Schwartz as its new showrunner.

iZombie

This DC property has always managed to keep itself on the radar, thanks to its loyal fanbase. The show started off with an interesting take on the zombie folklore and has recently turned into a socio-political drama. Being renewed for a fifth season, the undead seems to walk on.

Supergirl

Supergirl is one of those shows which have a polarizing fanbase. Either you adore the show or you absolutely detest it. Despite having some negative reviews for its over-the-top dialogues and overall light background, Supergirl has always managed to make a name for it. Having the gorgeous Melissa Benoist playing the titular superhero, cousin to the Man of Steel himself, Supergirl has been renewed for a third season.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This one should not be least bit surprising. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which is broadcasted on the ABC network is arguably one of the best superhero shows on TV right now. Having a tightly written script along with spectacular acting chops from all the actors involved, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has managed to amass a massive fanbase over the years. While there were some speculations that the show might not get renewed for a sixth season, ABC has finally confirmed that the Agents will definitely make a comeback.

Legends of Tomorrow

Legends of Tomorrow didn’t have the ideal start for a superhero TV show. Badly written plot, too many characters and forced humor plagued the show for most of its debut season. But slowly, the show has managed to get right back on track by getting all the points checked. Currently, in its third season, Legends of Tomorrow is one of the hottest shows on the network with its witty humor and some serious action. Now, the Legends have managed to get the much loved Constantine on board and getting a renewal for the fourth season must have been a mere formality.

Black Lightning

The highly acclaimed DC TV show which airs on the CW network has managed to get a renewal for its second season. After having a spectacular first season, Black Lightning was bound to be renewed for its next season. But how long before this African-American hero becomes a part of the CW superhero roster?

The Gifted

This X-Men saga airs on the Fox network and has managed to get itself renewed for a second season. Set in an alternate timeline where the X-Men have disappeared, The Gifted revolves around a group of teenagers who have mutant abilities. Having received positive reviews for its first season, The Gifted is one of the best shows out there, along with its sister show revolving around another mutant, Legion.

Marvel and Dc Tv Shows

The fate of Legion is yet to be revealed. Though the show received critical acclaim on its release, the third season for the show is yet to be confirmed.
