SPOILER ALERT: Major Spoilers for Annihilation: Scourge #1. If you have not read it yet, we suggest you look away…
Marvel has a fairly vibrant outer space element. Their Annihilation comic book series, in particular, are known to be set in the far reaches of the vacuum of space and beyond. In Annihilation of 2006, Annihilus tries to use his Annihilation Wave to conquer and destroy the Universe. In Annihilation: Conquest, the robotic Super Villain called Ultron gets his hands on the Phalanx and tries to use them to turn the entire population of sentient life in the cosmos into mechanical entities. The newest entry to the Annihilation series titled Annihilation: Scourge, reveals a very disturbing fact about the future of the Marvel Universe in its first issue. The forces of the Cancer-Verse, a universe where death has lost all meaning and nobody can ever die (so everyone is basically like a living, breathing and walking tumour), attack the Negative zone. Blastaar and Annihilus is no match for the Cancer-Verse, who swiftly takes them down.
The Cancer-Verse has its own version of the Avengers. They are called the Revengers. The previous leader of the Revengers – Lord Mar-Vell, is no more. He died during the events of The Thanos Imperative. But the team has found out another straddle that has joined their ranks. This particular guy is actually the most powerful superhero in the Marvel Universe. Not even the Ghost Rider or the Hulk could hold a candle to his skills. The Revengers of the Cancer-Verse now have the Sentry as one of its core members!!
The Sentry was once a lowly drug addict. By Luck, he stumbled upon an experimental serum that was being created to replace the Super Soldier Serum. The Serum, after being injected into the Sentry, gave him the power of a thousand exploding suns. The Sentry also gained a fragile mental state as a side effect and is locked up in an eternal war with the Void – a malevolent force that wants to take over his body – within his mind. The Sentry was killed during the events of Siege but later resurrected by the Apocalypse Twins to become the Horseman of Death. A couple of deaths and resurrections later, the Sentry was finally freed of the Void persona and he escaped to the far reaches of space, never to be seen again.
It turns out he somehow found his way into the cancer-verse and has joined the Revengers, whom he now leads into battle. The Sentry was already super strong and unbeatable. After becoming part of the Cancer-Verse and gaining immunity to death itself, he is at a power level that is way above God Like. We just hope the heroes will manage to push him back this time, which sounds like an impossible thing to do already.

Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I’m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just… do things
