Today, we are talking about incredible movies of 2018 which we all thought would be a disaster. Well, there were a lot of analysts and predictors out there who said a lot of cruel things about some movies which were going to release in 2018 and quite heroically the movies turned out to be quite successful.
The bad thing nowadays is that, there’s a trend going on in the media industry that saying bad things about a mega-budget movie or a movie having a lot of buzz gives them a lot of views and is the reason why we hear so many bad things, even about a movie as good as Avengers: Infinity War because negative remarks are getting views and clicks nowadays.
But, there were some movies who passed that river of negativity and became massive hits. So, I’m sure that those people will surely be having a smile full of embarrassment on their faces and I have to admit it quite proudly that I wasn’t one of them (Okay I was, now put that revolver back in the drawer). So, before the end of this year, we are going to appreciate the movies which were really unique, fresh, excellent, and successful.

The movie was predicted to be a big flop but after the release of the movie, it was the storyline which people loved the most as the movie was directed by Paul Feig and is based on the novel of the same name by Darcey Bell. The story of the movie revolves around a small town vlogger who wants to investigate the disappearance of her rich and mysterious best friend in the movie. The movie has Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Henry Golding, and many others. The movie went on to collect $94.8 billion.
9. Annihilation:
This horror movie wrapped in science fiction was one of the best movies of 2018 as it was directed by Alex Garland and was based on the novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason, and many others gave one of the best performances of their careers.
The story is about a group of military scientists who went into a mysterious quarantined zone full of mutating transforming creatures and landscapes and a lot of events happens with them which make this movie the best pick before going to bed as the movie was praised by critics a lot.
8. The Christmas Chronicles:
The story of this movie is really unique and if Netflix keeps on bringing movies like this, then they will soon have no competition around. The story of the movie is about a brother and sister who crash with the sleigh of Santa Claus accidentally are now saving the Christmas as time runs out.
The movie is directed by Clay Kaytis and Kurt Russell has portrayed his character of Santa Claus with perfection and the movie was praised by the critics all over the world and also the screenplay of the movie is one of the best. Do watch this movie if you haven’t watched it yet.
7. Blockers:
The movie was directed by Kay Cannon, as it was her directorial debut and no wonder she got a lot of praise for a debut movie like this because the movie is phenomenal and having Leslie Mann, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz, and many others was also quite incredible in the movie.
The movie earned a sum of $93.7 million as it’s the story about the trio of parents who are trying their best in order to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on the prom night. The movie is a pain to the jaws because of its fantastic comedy and dialogues. A must watch for sure.
6. Creed II:
The movie was a sequel of the movie Creed (2015) and the story follows a fight which has been in the making for the past 33 years as Adonis Creed stands up against a new opponent Viktor Drago, who is Ivan Drago’s son. Viktor is the one who killed the father of Adonis.
The story of the movie was really gripping as the movie collected a sum of $134.1 million and also received a lot of praise for the way they’re building the characters. The director of the movie is Stephen Caple Jr. and everyone should watch this great inspiring sports drama film.
5. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again:
The movie is directed by Oliver Parker and is a follow-up of the movie we saw back in 2008 with the name Mamma Mia!. The movie is kind of both prequel and sequel as the plot of the film deals after the events of the first film and there are also flashbacks of 1979 also in it. The movie collected a sum of $393.8 million.
The movie is going to blow your mind with its story and also the musical numbers which are a treat to the ears and eyes. This movie is a must watch for all of you out there as it has stars like Lily James, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Alexa Davies, and many more.
4. Outlaw King:
I become a fan of Chris Pine after seeing this movie and also the direction of David Mackenzie was again outstanding as it should be. The story of the movie is about Robert the Bruce, who was a 14th-century Scottish lord who launched a guerrilla war against the English army with no fear.
The premiere of the movie was at Toronto International Film Festival and went on to collect a lot of praise from a lot of big names of the industry and it was the performance of Chris Pine which collected all the limelight and appreciation as the man is looking incredible in the movie.
3. Bumblebee:
Well, we all are glad that this movie has beaten us and turned out to be really good because somewhere deep we all wanted to see the Transformers back on the top but didn’t know that Travis Knight is going to do just that with this movie. The movie is getting a lot of praise and love form the people out there.
The movie has stars like Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, and many more. The story of the movie is completely unknown and the only thing we are hearing is that the movie is the best Transformers movie to this day. So, I think this will be enough for you in order to go to the theaters now.
2. Set It Up:
Netflix’s growing power can be seen by this movie as it turned out to be a really good one and the people and critics really liked the story as it is about two overworked assistants who are trying their hard in order to set-up their too-demanding bosses on a date in NYC.
The movie is directed by Claire Scanlon and is written by Katie Silberman. The acting of Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Taye Diggs, and Lucy Liu is great and they simply nailed their respective work. I will highly recommend this movie to all of you and you’ll thank me later.

There were a lot of people who said that a movie without Spider-Man isn’t going to work out and Sony Pictures is putting in too much confidence in their character but Venom paid-off the trust in the best way possible as the movie went on to earn a sum of $854.5 million. Huge! Isn’t it?
The movie was directed by Ruben Fleischer and casting Tom Hardy was a very good and crucial decision and also the way they showed up the character of Venom was really incredible and viewers are simply in love with this character and a sequel is on the charts already my friends.
