In the movie Venom, we see that one of those hyped-mistakes make their appearance in the early scenes of the movie when we see that the deadly symbiotes have arrived on earth. Riot is the first symbiote which gets stuck to one of the first responders and then transfers to an old lady for almost a time period of six months. A lot of questions have been raised regarding the reason for this scene and the director Fleischer has agreed to the claims that it is a plot hole in the movie.

While doing an interview with GameSpot, a lot of questions have been asked by the fans and people about the reason because of which Riot was with the same host for a period of 6 months and on this question the director gave a very simple answer by stating that it was necessary to show that big leap of six-months for Eddie Brock and also commits that it (plot hole) was a by-product. The director has stated,

“Our idea was that Riot was using up the life force of whoever he took, and then he jumped ship when he’d consumed them and then find a new host to carry him further on his journey. …Yeah, that’s a good question. That’s one of our few – hopefully – few logic bumps. But we had to have a passage of time in order to show Eddie’s downfall, and that was the one thing that doesn’t entirely track.”

The director accepts that it’s a plot hole but immediately added to his reply with a mix of humor by saying that he loves to think that the elderly lady just simply went to Malaysia for that period of six months in order to murder people with those spikes in her back before heading towards San Francisco to lock horns with Venom. He said,

“But I like to think that old lady was going around murdering all throughout Malaysia, and she was just having a good old time just shooting shards through different people in Malaysia.”

But for now, moviegoers and the fans of the comic book should enjoy the whole movie and don’t screw the taste of the movie with this question in their mind.
