10 Major Movie Franchises That Venom Has (Partially) Beaten at The Box Office
Sony is swimming in the pile of money that has been enabled largely by China! Venom had a budget of just $100 Million which is why it turned out to be one of the most profitable Superhero films of all time with $852.8 Million at the worldwide Box Office. It hasn’t just beaten single films, but also major franchises in Hollywood. Sure some franchises are extremely huge due to the number of films they have put out, but Venom has managed to take down majority of movies in all major Hollywood franchises. Here’s a list of every movie franchise that Venom has totally or partially beaten.
1. Almost the entire DCEU
Batman V Superman stands tall at $873 Million as Venom could not take it down. But it took down all other Worlds of DC movies, and even Aquaman will probably not be able to beat it. Rest of the DCEU movies with their earnings include – Justice League ($656 Million), Man of Steel ($668 Million), Suicide Squad ($745 Million) and Wonder Woman ($821 Million).
2. Blade Trilogy
This was Marvel’s first Superhero movie trilogy, and it sure does deserve the same respect that all other Marvel movies do. At least 2 of the 3 films managed to be critical and Box Office achievements which is a good thing, but venom has beaten all 3 of those easily. Box Office – Blade ($131 Million), Blade 2 ($155 Million) and Blade: Trinity ($128 Million).
3. The Whole X-Men Franchise
Another competitor in the Superhero Genre was Fox’s X-Men Universe, and it has taken every movie out with ease. 4. Almost all the Spider-Man films
It was really important for Sony to see where venom stands with the Spider-Man movies as it has begun Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters which is going to full of Spider-Man characters. Except Spider-Man 3 ($890 Million) and Spider-Man Homecoming ($880 Million), it has beaten all other Spider-Man films. Box Office – The Amazing Spider-Man ($757.9 Million), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($708.9 Million), Spider-Man ($821.7 Million), Spider-Man 2 ($783.6 Million).

6. The Matrix Trilogy
This is surely one of the best movie trilogies of all time and it’s fair to say that the rate of inflation would almost certainly place The Matrix trilogy over Venom if it were released today. But still, Venom has managed to beat the trilogy which is a big achievement in itself. All three Matrix movies earned a fair sum of money- The Matrix Revolutions ($427.3 million), The Matrix ($463.5 million), The Matrix Reloaded ($742.1 million).
7. All These Fast And Furious Movies
Box Office: Fast and Furious 6 ($788 Million), Fast Five ($626 Million), ($363 Million), The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift ($158 Million), 2 Fast 2 Furious ($236 Million) and The Fast and The Furious ($207 Million). F7 and F8 obviously remain unbeaten having grossed over a Billion Dollars each.
8. 3/5th of the Transformers franchise
The hype for this franchise had died with The Last Knight and Bumblebee sure looks to be good enough to bring back some fans. But let’s be honest, it cannot beat the mammoth total of Venom which is nearing $853 Million. Venom has beaten 3 of the five Transformers films which include – Transformers ($708 Million), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($836 Million) and Transformers: The Last Knight ($603 Million).
