Ultra Instinct Goku And Spirit Control Vegeta Fuse Together:
The Dragon Ball series has introduced the world to the wonderful genre of action based anime. Martial Arts and fight scenes are the bread and butter of Dragon Ball. But sometimes, Goku alone is not enough. No matter how hard he trains, Goku always meets an enemy who is better in the art of combat than he could be. As a matter of fact, many times our resident Z Fighters meet bad guys with enough firepower to decimate them one on one. So Akira Toriyama came up with a novel method for the warriors of Dragon Ball to combine their powers against a common foe. The process of fusion can be accomplished via various means in Dragon Ball. It gives the combined entity the power of two martial art Gods. We all know Vegito and Gogeta. But what happens when Goku in his Ultra Instinct Form and Vegeta in his Spirit Control state fuse together?
Before we move on to the outcome of that combination, we will dive into the process of fusion itself a bit. In the process of fusion, two or more independent entities are combined to form a singular force that has the powers, speed, reflexes, endurance, dexterity, agility, and durability as a factor of the combination of the parent entities. In short, the fusion results in a rather powerful warrior that has the combined physical attributes and Ki of all those that merged. It has been shown in Dragon Ball that there are as many as six different kinds of ways to fuse together. The resultant entity has a power level that far exceeds that of what the individual warriors could have accomplished together.
The types of fusion that exists in Dragon Ball are Namekian Fusion – an innate ability found in all native residents of the Planet Namek that allows them to merge together. There is the infamous Fusion Dance. The alien species from Other World called the Metamorans came up with it. It lasts for around 30 minutes and the fused form will have Metamoran attire. Goku first learned the dance when he was in the Other World right before the Buu Saga. Potara Earrings are another way to do it. A technique that was once exclusive to the Supreme Kais, it is later revealed that the secret to the fusion is the Potara Earrings that the Supreme Kais wear. If mortals use Potara Earrings to fuse, then they have only a one-hour time limit.
There are also other forms of fusion. Capsule Corp came up with their version called EX-Fusion, which is an unnatural and volatile form of the fusion technique that needs equipment called the Metamo-Ring. There is also God Fusion which requires individual entities to be of the same power level.. Freeform fusion was first seen in Dragon Ball Fusions. It is done using the Metamo-Rings as well as the Fusion Dance. The Free Form Fusion technique can result in more than 50,000 odd combinational possibilities, which makes it very similar to Buu’s absorption technique and Namekian Fusion.
As Dragon Ball has progressed, we have seen more and more powerful versions of Fused Warriors. After Gogeta and Vegito, we saw the debut of Fused Zamasu, which was the fusion of Zamasu, the evil Kaio-Shin, and Goku Black, an alternate reality Goku who had the power of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in the form of Super Saiyan Rose. Fused Zamasu helped us realize that there are other outcomes of Fusion. Since Zamasu merged with Goku Black while he was in his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan state, Fused Zamasu ended up being in a permanent form of Super Saiyan Rose. This proves that there is more to Fusion than what meets the eye and the Z Warriors have barely scratched the surface of it all.
So what happens if two of the greatest warriors amongst the Z Fighters, in their most powerful iteration, merge together? What if Goku fuses with Vegeta, while the former is in his Ultra Instinct State and the latter is using his Spirit Control Powers?
Ultra Instinct has proven to be a true Game Changer. It has given Goku the literal power of the Gods. By channeling the Godly Ki inward and letting him-self be driven into a state of Zero Thought, Goku can let his body take over, piloted by the element of divine intuition. As a result, the time delay between thought and action is removed. This leads to a significant increase in speed and agility, along with no wasted movements and minimal wastage of energy. Ultra Instinct was powerful enough to over-power Jiren, the Multi-Verse’s strongest mortal during the Tournament of Power arc.
Vegeta, who could not master Ultra Instinct, went on a different path to achieve power and surpass Goku. He decided to become stronger on his own terms. Vegeta traveled to the planet Yardrat, where he met the Elders of Yardrat, the people who have mastered the ancient and potent art of Spirit Control. It was Spirit Control that taught Goku the technique of Instant Transmission – an ability that allows Goku to travel at the speed of light across time and space. And that was Spirit Control’s most basic ability!! Experts of Spirit Control gain a dramatic increase in strength, speed, and agility, as well as other abilities like regenerative healing factor, cloning, and size alteration.
Currently, Vegeta has returned to Earth and so has Goku. Both are fighting Moro, the ancient magician who has the power to absorb energies of entire planets at a swing. Goku has mastered Ultra Instinct Sign: the initial stage of the technique of the Gods and the gateway to Ultra Instinct. Vegeta looks like he has mastered Spirit Control and is about to give Moro a run for his money, a guy who managed to defeat Goku in his Ultra Instinct Sign state.
A combination of the two will certainly shine a light on whole new levels in Dragon Ball. Earlier we had discussed how Vegeta might have developed a Stand Power very similar to Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. If we follow on the precedents set by previous Dragon Ball arcs, if Goku could not defeat Moro, so can’t Vegeta. His Spirit Control power will not be enough to get the job done. But if his Stand power could combine with Ultra Instinct, it could be a whole new ball game.
So if Goku and Vegeta do fuse together, Vegito will have the power of Ultra Instinct combined with Spirit Control. Maybe then Vegito could finally surpass the limitations of Ultra Instinct Sign and manage to sustain the Godly Ki within him-self now that he also has Spirit Control in his arsenal. It will be a sight to behold nonetheless.
Vegito with the power of Ultra Instinct and Spirit Control will be a true God. If Goku and Vegeta could combine their powers to unlock new levels of their combined form, then they just might be enough to take down not just Moro but also Whis and Beerus if need be. Dragon Ball’s future will be changed forever!! Imagine Vegito using Ultra Instinct with an armor of Ki all around him. He will have the ultimate offense and the absolute defense in his possession. He will be undoubtedly unstoppable.
The last Dragon Ball arc to have been featured in the Manga is the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Released in the year 2018, the Manga is still on-going and again sees the Dragon Ball Universe in grave danger from an ancient enemy that has broken free of its prison. The official synopsis for the arc reads:
Galactic Patrol Kidnapping. Following the ordeal surrounding Broly, Goku trains with Vegeta in the Gravity Training Room. … Vegeta asks why he needs Buu and Merus explains that a dangerous criminal has broken free of the Galactic Prison and in order to recapture him they need the assistance of the Grand Supreme Kai.
