One-Punch Man Has The Most Negative Fanbase In Anime

One-Punch Man has been crowned with the most negative fanbase in anime, according to an online poll conducted by UberFacts on Twitter. The poll quantified the highest amount of negative words used in fandoms on the platform, with the superhero series coming out on top in the anime category, with 174 negative words in every 1000 words spoken about the series. This statistic placed it above many other shows, including Attack on Titan and Death Note.

The first season of One-Punch Man premiered in 2015, quickly becoming one of the most popular anime series alongside other mainstream hits like Attack on Titan and Death Note. However, the reception to the show’s second season, which arrived in 2019, was less than stellar due to a switch in animation studios from Madhouse to J.C. Staff. The lackluster image quality and pacing disappointed many fans of the series.

The poll also revealed that other popular anime like Death Note and One Piece fell just shy behind One-Punch Man, hitting 172 negative words spoken. Demon Slayer and Fullmetal Alchemist were close behind with 170 negative words, while Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and Neon Genesis Evangelion rounded out the list. The poll wasn’t limited to anime, as other categories like video gaming and movie franchises also saw backlash from their communities. Some of the titles that received poor showings were Call of Duty, Mortal Kombat, and Sonic The Hedgehog for video games, and Transformers, The Twilight Saga, and Star Trek for movie franchises.

However, the fandom that topped the list with its negativity was Rihanna fans, with 186 negative words spoken. One-Punch Man is an action comedy series based on the manga written by One. It tells the story of a hero named Saitama, who wins every fight he takes part in with one punch. While that sounds great, it acts as a huge problem for the hero, as he is forced to succumb to the overwhelming boredom of being overpowered in a world where power is everything. A host of characters, such as heroes like Genos, Bang, Metal Knight, and Tornado, soon join him on his adventures.

Despite the negativity from some fans, One-Punch Man remains a popular series. Its third season was confirmed to be in production in August 2022, with rumors swirling that Mappa would take over for the third outing. However, this has yet to be officially confirmed, and fans eagerly await news of its release date. In conclusion, One-Punch Man’s negative fanbase is a reflection of the high expectations that fans have for the series, which wasn’t entirely met in its second season. Nonetheless, the popularity of the series remains strong, and fans eagerly anticipate the release of its third season.
