Real-Life Saiyan Pod Landing in Japan Excites Dragon Ball Fans

Dragon Ball fans are going crazy over a mysterious metal ball that washed up on a beach in Japan. The ball looks just like the “Saiyan Pods” from the anime series, which were used by some of the show’s most iconic characters, including Vegeta, Broly, and Son Goku, for intergalactic travel while seeking out new worlds to conquer or destroy. While authorities are still trying to figure out what the ball is made of and where it came from, Twitter users have been quick to make jokes and memes about the possibility of a Saiyan invasion. Take a look at the metal ball which fans are referring to as the real-life Saiyan Pod:

Some fans have suggested that the arrival of a Saiyan Pod in the real world would be bad news, but others are taking it as a lighthearted opportunity to have some fun. Many have come up with creative theories, such as Raditz searching for Goku or the sphere being the cursed “Rolling Stone” stand from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. There are even some pessimistic fans who believe the ball is a Godzilla egg or one of the black spheres from the psychological horror anime Gantz. But despite the skepticism from some party poopers who claim that it’s just an old oil drum or naval mine, the online otaku community continues to share their theories and memes.

But that’s not the only Dragon Ball news making waves. The series recently announced a One Piece x Toriko crossover episode that will finally debut in English on Adult Swim. Although the special first aired in Japan back in 2013, it has been unavailable on North American streaming services like Crunchyroll and Hulu for almost a decade. Fans can catch the crossover during the Adult Swim Toonami block on Saturday, March 4, and this news has been celebrated as a major victory by Toonami staff and fans alike.

For those who can’t get enough of Dragon Ball, both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super are available to stream on Crunchyroll. So whether you’re a die-hard fan or just curious about the hype, there’s never been a better time to dive into the world of Saiyans and intergalactic adventure.
