6 Problems In WandaVision That Were Ignored By The Audience

WandaVision is one of the most unique projects of MCU. It has been loved by everyone. It is one of those shows that kept the audience guessing from beginning to end. In my experience, I didn’t feel like pausing it for a second. When one episode ended, I didn’t even take a break and instantly jumped on to the next episode. It’s a series that started in a very hilarious way but ended on a very emotional note. But still, there were a few problems in WandaVision that were ignored.

Problems In WandaVision

1. Agatha’s Motivation

The character of Agatha Harkness made its debut in WandaVision. The character was a witch masquerading as Agnes. Agnes was Wanda and Vision’s neighbour. She is the main villain of the show. But her actual motivations were not so interesting. She wished to become the most powerful witch. It was quite shocking when her identity was revealed in Episode 7. This is something that cannot be digested so easily. Compared to other MCU movies and TV shows, this motivation was quite mediocre.

2. Tyler Hayward was ridiculed

Problems In WandaVision

Tyler Hayward was also another antagonist in WandaVision. He planned to revive the original Vision and use him as a weapon. Hayward’s character can be compared to John Walker in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Although we saw John Walker as a villain after he killed a Flag Smasher, we were still able to connect with his character emotionally. A lot of credit for that goes to Wyatt Russell. But unfortunately, Hayward was shown as a usual government figure who thought he knew more about everything than the protagonists. He was also seen shooting at Wanda’s kids. WandaVision was putting more focus on the world that Wanda created for herself and Vision.

3. Unnecessary final battle sequences

WandaVision started off as a sitcom. The series was falling short of action sequences. But it is surprising that MCU fans did not complain about it. It was expected that maybe WandaVision will not follow the routine plot of other MCU movies. But as usual, the same things were repeated. We saw Vision fighting his own self called the White Vision. But Agatha and Wanda’s fight sequence can be considered similar to Thanos and Iron Man’s scene in Avengers: Endgame.

4. The character of Quicksilver felt like a joke

Pietro Maximoff was not seen again after his death in Avengers: Age of Ultron. His name was mentioned in Episode 4 of WandaVision. The character then actually appeared in Episode 5. Fans were very much excited to see this character. But unfortunately, Pietro’s presence felt more like a joke. It was revealed that this Pietro is fake. He was another person being controlled by Agatha Harkness. WandaVision could have used Pietro later as the main character but that did not happen. It was all nothing but a big “Boner” joke, and that became one of the problems in WandaVision.

5. Less screen space for Darcy Lewis

The character of Darcy Lewis was seen in 2011’s Thor. When it was announced that she would appear in WandaVision, fans were excited to see her again. The character got a very good start. She played a major role in helping S.H.I.E.L.D. to understand what’s going on inside Westview. Eventually, Darcy lost her importance as the show started giving more screen space to Wanda and Vision. WandaVision was the perfect opportunity to explore more about Darcy but now it looks like a missed opportunity.

6. A lot of Setups

Problems In WandaVision

WandaVision let us develop our own theories about the show but it did not reveal much in all the episodes. There were various setups for future MCU projects. The first one is the mystery engineer linked with Monica Rambeau. There were also various Easter Eggs that teased Mephisto. Fans thought for a second that Mephisto might be seen in any one episode.

In one scene, Agatha says that Wanda revealed a powerful entity. But the identity of that entity was not revealed. We can assume that it might be Mephisto. There were references to Nightmare. The secret of the dark magic book and Nexus commercial was also not revealed. Then there was a setup for Monica Rambeau to meet Nick Fury. But with so many setups, we never really got any payoffs. that’s what left the fans a bit disappointed.
