It’s Official: Thor Becomes the Goku of Marvel Comics!!

At the epitome of power lies a throne. And on that thrones sits the God of all the power that could ever exist – Goku of Dragon Ball Z. Marvel Comics may have many superheroes but no one was even near to Goku’s power levels. The amount of upgrades the Super Saiyan God has had is insane and nobody would have thought that a comic book superhero could top the anime legend. Amongst Marvel’s most powerful superheroes is Thor, the Norse God of Thunder and one of Earth’s Mightiest Avengers. While in the movies he may have been relegated to a second or third position, the comic books tell an entirely different tale. Presenting – It’s Official: Thor becomes the Goku of Marvel Comics!!

Thor Becomes Goku of Marvel Comics

The new Thor run by Donny Cates and Nic Klein is sweeping the fans off their feet with the level of power boosts it is giving the God of Thunder of the Marvel Comic Book Universe. The Black Winter is coming. The last universe that existed before the mainstream Marvel Universe was destroyed by the Black Winter, an unstoppable force which the heroes of the Marvel Universe cannot defeat. The only known survivor of the Black Winter was Galactus who was endowed with the Power Cosmic and became the Devourer of Worlds of this universe. Galactus is the only hope of this universe to stop the Black Winter. But there is a catch.

To become all-powerful, Galactus needs to regain his strength. Right now, Galactus is in a terribly weakened state. He needs to feed and the Silver Surfer reveals that there are five specific planets scattered across the universe that can help Galactus gain power beyond his wildest imaginations once he consumes them. To help him locate these special planets, Galactus chooses the might All-Father Thor Odinson to become his new Herald. Thor already had the Odin Force in his possession. Making him gain the Power Cosmic added a huge upgrade to his arsenal. Thor’s wounds were completely healed and he became an avatar of primordial energy.

The power boost remind us of one other hero, who is known to be the most powerful of his lot. Yes we are talking about Goku, the Blonde haired Super Saiyan who does not know the concept of bodily limitations. Think about it. Goku, when in Super Saiyan form has an aura of energy surrounding him. So does Thor now in his Herald of Galactus form! Goku recently was granted the ability of Ultra Instinct, a level of power not even the Universe’s God of Destruction possesses. Thor possesses the Power cosmic and the Odin Force which makes him several times stronger than any Herald of Galactus or a Power cosmic user for that matter. In effect, he is actually stronger than Galactus as well.

And the similarities do not end there. Beta ray Bill, an alien warrior who possesses the Stormbreaker hammer, a weapon that is considered to be one of the most powerful in the Marvel Universe, tried to stop Galactus from wreaking havoc on the universe in his quest to consume these five planets. Beta Ray Bill had to face Thor, who was now a Herald of Galactus and effectively his bodyguard.

Beta Ray Bill’s Stormbreaker hammer had literally no effect on him and Thor managed to withstand Bill’s blows without even flinching. This has an uncanny resemblance to Goku’s fight with Jiren in the Dragon Ball Super tournament. In the final moments of the fight, Goku showed a level of power that could easily take on Jiren. Is Marvel trying to copy Dragon Ball’s Goku?? It sure does look like it.
