Marvel Creates Team of Mightiest Doctors:
We can never fall short of Marvel’s antics nowadays. Recently they revealed that Iron Man was a robot and his company now belongs to his relative from the future. Thor becoming the Gerald of Galactus was another shock. Now Marvel is again back to its usual goofy attitude with their newest addition to their ever-growing foray into Crazy Town. We all know the Avengers. They are called the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. But do you know that Marvel has also created a team of superheroes that are basically superhuman doctors?!?! They are the Medics of the Planet.
SPOILER ALERT: Major Spoiler for Valkyrie: Jane Foster #7 up ahead. Enter at your own risk…
After Jane Foster was revealed to be the new Thor, the entire world was taken by storm. Thor has been a traditionally male mantle but giving it to a woman, who held the hammer and became the Goddess of Thunder, was a gutsy but a much-needed move. Jane foster won many hearts with her sacrifice and heroics. She gave her life to protect people and land she was not even a part of. The Asgardians themselves hated Jane Foster for taking away the mantle. But in the end, Foster gave up her life protecting masses that did not even care about her in the first place. And that is what made her worthy.
Marvel brought back Jane Foster from the dead due to popular demand and gave her a new mantle to uphold after Thor became the God of Thunder again. Jane Foster became the Valkyrie – the Warrior Angel from Valhalla that guides departed souls of warriors to the after-life.
The War of the Realms story arc led to Thor taking over his rightful role as the new King of Asgard. The devastating battle almost wiped out the Valkyrie army that participated in the huge battle. Jane Foster is chosen to become the first and only Valkyrie in a long line of the new generation of winged warriors of Asgard that will now ferry souls to Valhalla. As Valkyrie, she witnessed Bullseye killing the Asgardian Warrior Heimdall and even investigated some matters related to the concept of Death.
Death was itself dying and the After-Life was being affected. So to ensure everything stays as it is and the general order of things does not collapse, Jane Foster, who has a medical background, gathers up a group of superheroes with a similar set of skills to venture into the unknown and find out the cause of Death’s dying breaths. The heroes that will aid her in this new adventure are Doctor Strange, Night Nurse, Minikin, Faiza Hussain, and Cardiac. The moment they enter through the portal into Death’s realms, a huge monster is seen eating up the entire world. They try to fight it and save the personification of death from bidding farewell. Earth’s Mightiest Doctors will encounter a lot more than what they fought and defeated this time. A lifetime of an adventure is waiting for them all.
