But the question is – whom does Harley Quinn have a crush on? Clearly Mr. J aka Joker might come to mind but as far as we know, after seeing the trailer of Birds of Prey, Harley has finally decided to part ways with the Clown Prince of Crime and let go of that toxic relationship she had with him. So who is the lucky guy within the cross hairs of the hot and beautiful Harley Quinn?? According to DC Comics, the guy Harley would like to be with is a member of the Avengers from Marvel Comics.

SPOILER ALERT: Major Spoilers for Harley Quinn #66 up ahead. Enter at your own risk……

Harley Quinn Revealed She is Huge Fan of Hawkeye

It is common knowledge that Harley Quinn breaks the fourth wall time and time again in the comic-books. She has been seen mentioning characters from other comic books and even talked to the readers on several occasions. She is Marvel Comics’ equivalent of Deadpool in these regards. In Harley Quinn #66, things really take a twisted turn for the better when Harley Quinn hints at the fact that she is a fan of a certain superhero belonging to a rival comic book publication. To be precise, we are pointing out a Marvel Comic book character.

The #66 of Harley Quinn shows us the contents of Harley Quinn’s back-pack. It contains what appears to be several issues of comic books as well as superhero merchandise of different types. One such superhero item from her back pack looks eerily similar to the superhero emblem of Hawkeye of the Avengers. The backpack contains what appear to be three pins jaded on the outer layer of the bag. One pin is a bandaged broken heart symbol. The second pin is the Batman symbol. The third pin is what piqued our interest. It is a purple and white bulls-eye pin that is the symbol of none other than Hawkeye, the eagle-eyed Avenger from Marvel Comics!!!

This is taking the fourth wall breaking antics to a whole new level. To be honest, it is kind of poetic if the comic book issue actually used Harley Quinn to reference Hawkeye, a character who is not even part of the DC Comic book Universe.  Both Harley Quinn and Hawkeye share a similar set of skills and origin stories. Both do not possess superpowers and are extremely good at close quarter combat. Both were part of some really toxic relationships (Hawkeye started out as an accomplice to Black Widow, who seduced him into working for her to help her commit crimes). Harley Quinn is a clown-themed supervillainess while Hawkeye once used to work in a circus.

We may not be sure about this. Right now it is all speculation. DC does not have a tendency to reference other comic book publications. Maybe that pin was just a generic-looking symbol and really does not mean anything. Maybe it was referencing some other superhero that we still might not know of as of yet.

But connecting Harley Quinn with Hawkeye and shipping them together is so much fun than speculating that Harley was actually referencing say, Target, with that pin (since it does look like the Logo of Target if Target’s logo replaced red for purple, that is).

The last movie to be released under the DC banner was Joker. The movie is currently in theatres. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Harley Quinn Revealed She is Huge Fan of Hawkeye

Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks — the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he’s part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.
