Facts About Adam Warlock:
Adam Warlock is perhaps one of the most awesome Marvel characters ever created and he is the ideal model of a Human Being. He was teased in the second Guardians of the Galaxy movie and we can only hope that he shows up for the third movie, as it would be completely amazing to see him on the big screen.
#1: Creation and Debut
Adam Warlock made his first appearance from the comic book Fantastic Four #66-67 back in 1967. He was created by the legendary duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby but major contributions to his character development were provided by Roy Thomas and Jim Starlin. Adam Warlock was created as a symbol of power and hope.
#2: He is an Artificial Human Being
Adam Warlock is not a human being in reality and he was created by some Scientists on Earth who referred to themselves as the Enclave. They aimed to create an artificial human being that had no imperfections and they succeeded. Warlock initially referred to himself as “Him”. He then rebelled against his creators and he even had a conflict with Thor.
#3: He is one of the most powerful beings
Adam Warlock is without a doubt one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Apart from having Superhuman strength, speed, agility, and durability he also has the ability to manipulate Energy. Adam Warlock can manipulate matter and he is even an expert magician. Adam Warlock is strong enough to use Infinity stones without breaking a sweat.
#4: The Soul Gem is his Possession
The High Evolutionary requested Warlock to help their artificially created planet called Counter-Earth from the evil villain Man-Beast. Warlock accepted their request and to help him in his quest, the High Evolutionary gave Warlock the Soul Gem, to enhance his powers. Due to this, Adam Warlock got the ability to capture the souls of other beings.
#5: His future self is his worst enemy
After encountering the Universal Church of Truth, an intergalactic religious organization led by the corrupt Magus, Adam allied with Pip the Troll, and Gamora along with the supervillain Thanos, to oppose Magus. As it turns out, Magus is the future version of Adam himself, who traveled back in time after being driven insane by the use of the Soul Stone.
#6: One of the Original members of Guardians of the Galaxy
During the 2007’s Annihilation: Conquest storyline, Adam Warlock was revived to fulfill his supposed prophecy of saving the Kree Empire, which he was ultimately able to do with the help of the misfit group including Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Phyla, Gamora, Mantis, and Groot. This marked the origin of the modern-day Guardians of The Galaxy team.
#7: The Goddess – Personification of Adam’s goodness
The Goddess is Adam Warlock’s personification of goodness, which Adam detached from his body. The Goddess took it upon herself to purge the world by taking over their hearts and minds. Heroes like Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and Storm were captured by her spell due to their strong beliefs. The Goddess eventually decided to remove all the evil from Earth, by eradicating everyone. She was ultimately defeated by Warlock.
#8: Warlock can wield the Infinity Gauntlet
Adam Warlock was already overpowered before he got the Infinity Gauntlet, and after wielding the Gauntlet, he became a near-supreme being. The Living Tribunal, one of the few stronger beings than Warlock, instructed him to divide the gems. Warlock kept the Soul gem and gave one gem each to Pip, Gamora, Drax, Moondragon, and a changed Thanos. This group was named as “The Infinity Watch”
#9: Thanos became Adam’s friend
In the comics, Thanos and Adam have locked horns several times, but later on, they became allies and even friends, to some extent. Both of them helped each other out on several occasions in times of crisis and they had a very peculiar relationship. Adam even entrusted Thanos with an Infinity Gem for its protection.
#10: Warlock’s power increases with each resurrection
Adam Warlock has died several times in the comic books and as mentioned, he is an artificial human being, he has also been resurrected several times. His power grew many folds each time he was resurrected. He is already one of the most powerful characters, and on top of that, he cannot stay dead for long.
