Shazam vs Black Adam – Who is The Greatest Champion?
Shazam vs Black Adam:
Even though these two characters belong to different eras, they are still the greatest enemies of each other. While there’s still time before we get to see this battle take place on the big screen, we can just take a look at the characters ourselves, and decide who will be the one that emerges victorious. Keep in mind that we are not judging the fight in a hero vs. villain battle, as that’s where the hero ends up winning 90% of the times. So, without any further ado, let’s just analyze each of these individuals and pit them against each other.
Shazam
Billy Batson was a normal kid with nothing special to boast about. Then with fates mysterious die sealing his fate with a weird twist, Batson became the avatar of Gods. In the Rock of Eternity sits the Wizard Shazam, who saw in Billy a kindred soul who could be turned into a force for good. Billy, by literally uttering the name Shazam, could turn into a hulking of a man.
Billy Batson gets his Powers from 6 Gods Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury (SHAZAM) and his magically bestowed powers include Superhuman strength, speed, durability, and longevity, Flight, Spell-casting, Control of magical lightning, Knowledge, and focus of the gods and Teleportation via the Rock of Eternity. His name was originally Captain Marvel but it was changed due to legal issues.
He has the strength and durability to take on the likes of Superman without much difficulty, and he has done that many times in the comics. He is also as quick Flash (if the speedster runs at his normal speed). The Powers from Solomon grant him vast intelligence and knowledge, so he may be as innocent as a teenage boy, but he is certainly as intellectual as the greatest minds of the DC Universe.
Black Adam
Black Adam is an ancient Egyptian corrupted anti-hero attempting to clear his name. Due to the tragedies he has faced, he turned on to a villainous path. He is extremely powerful. He was an ancient Egyptian named Teth-Adam (Mighty Human), who was chosen by the wizard Shazam to be his successor due to his presumed moral purity. But, the power he got made him a little vicious and he decided to overthrow the old king Pharoah, and he has fought his way to the modern times since then.
His powers include the powers of the six ancient Egyptian deities. When Teth Adam says the magic word “Shazam,” he is transformed into Black Adam and granted the powers of these 6 deities – the stamina of Shu, which allows him to withstand and survive most types of extreme physical assaults. Additionally, he does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe and can survive unaided in space and this makes him an immortal God, the swiftness of Heru, which allows him to fly and run at speeds up to Mach 500, the strength of Amon which gives him super strength, the wisdom of Zehuti which makes him vastly knowledgeable, the power of Aton, which gives him the lightning and magical powers and the courage of Mehen which makes him psychologically and spiritually unbeatable.
Billy vs Teth
While both these individuals have powers based upon thunder attacks, we have to admit that their attacks are going to be pretty similar using thunderbolts. But since they are powered with the abilities given to them by 6 different Deities/Gods, their other range of abilities do differ.
Both of them can fight for as long as the fight goes on due to their vast durability, stamina, and unlimited strengths. Both of them can match each other shot for shot. But every time these two gladiators have fought in the comics, Black Adam has shown levels of strength that are much greater than Shazam.
It is because Shazam fights for what’s right and is generally a good guy, he finds a way to turn the fights to his advantage. More often than not, he gets assistance from the likes of Superman to beat Adam, so if Black Adam can hold his own against Shazam and Superman together even for a short while, we have the answer to who is stronger among Adam and Shazam. So, I just cannot wait for the Rock to kick Shazam’s ass on the big screen until Shazam obviously finds a way to win.
