15 MCU Villains Who Are Alive And Could Come in Phase 4

Many people are concerned that Marvel is going to face a shortage of MCU villains in Phase 4 because there’s no news of new villains in the market but still we have a lot of villains in the timeline of MCU who could make a return and challenge the superheroes. Also, the biggest reason we could see a lot of villains returning to Phase 4 is that there are a lot of movies which are running out of a sequence.

MCU Villains Phase 4

For example, the movie Captain America is going to show us a lot of things about ‘Ronan the Accuser’ and with the confirmation of Crossbones returning in the Avengers: Endgame, we can see that there are a lot of ways with which we can bring the villains who aren’t dead yet in the MCU. With the possibility of time travel and resurrection in Avengers: Endgame, there are chances that we will see villains like Klaue and Killmonger returning for the sequel of Black Panther.

MCU Villains Phase 4

But, in this list, we aren’t going to talk about the villains who could come back from death as there are a lot of villains already in the MCU. We are not going to take the finalized names into the list as Vulture and Ghost are already confirmed to be in phase 4, we are going to look towards other villains.

 15. The Abomination:

MCU Villains Phase 4

Well, I’m one of those people who want to see this villain making an entry into phase 4 of MCU as I really liked this villain and with technological advancement and also seeing Marvel bringing some top-level work in this arena, I’m sure if they’ll take this villain into their hands then Emil Blonsky from the movie The Incredible Hulk is going to be a very-very incredible villain.

MCU Villains Phase 4

There are chances that Blonsky was broken out of the S.H.I.E.L.D.’s cell in Alaska as we saw in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier that Hydra was too powerful and uprising in the movie.

 14. Batroc The Leaper:

MCU Villains Phase 4

He is one of the most interesting villains out there who could possibly add an extra dimension in the villains’ world of phase 4 because he’s a kind of villain who doesn’t want to win every time and prefers losing when his plans don’t match the reality of events. We saw him in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, hired by Nick Fury to capture ‘The Lemurian Star’, we also saw a good fight by him in that mission and there are chances that we could see him out of the jail legally in phase 4 or by any other means.

 13. Dormammu:

MCU Villains Phase 4

When in the movie ‘Doctor Strange’, Dormammu made an appearance, a lot of people got confused and disappointed because the fans of comics know that he was nothing like those vertical lines on the face of the villain in the comics. Also, he didn’t have that character-defining flame which Dormammu had around his giant head in the comics.

MCU Villains Phase 4

In the comics, we all have seen that Dormammu is always surrounded with flames and fire but in the movie, we saw a completely different visual appearance of the character. But still, we all know that he’s one of the most powerful villains of the MCU and having him in the comic approved appearance will be like having a brand new villain. The chances and possibilities are high because with the incoming of Doctor Strange 2.

 12. The Grandmaster:

MCU Villains Phase 4

The character of Grandmaster shows us a bored old cosmic being who has almost limitless power and who chooses to use such power to pass his time by forcing powerful beings from other cultures and realities to fight for his pleasure. So what do we know? We know that the Grandmaster was first introduced in Marvel comics in Avengers #69 as the main antagonist of the ongoing arc.

MCU Villains Phase 4

He was the one who abducted the Avengers from their home and forced them to compete against other powerful beings for his own pleasure. Although the Avengers have survived their various and numerous encounters with the Grandmaster over the years, they have barely scraped by in most encounters. But, I simply hated the way they showed Grandmaster in MCU because I wanted that character to be quite serious and not like a street punk searching for fun things all the time.

 11. Helmut Zemo:

MCU Villains Phase 4

Baron Zemo has many different costumes over the years in the comics but one thing that has been part of all his costumes is the purple mask he wears in order to hide his face completely. But, in the movie ‘Captain America: Civil War’, we have seen that the makers of the movie gave him more of a human appearance and also did not give him his famous mask, one of the defining things of this character which is very menacing. With the confirmation of having Ghost in Phase 4, we could see Zemo for the famous Thunderbolts Projects.

 10. Justin Hammer:

MCU Villains Phase 4

Iron Man 2 had the former CEO of Hammer Industries, Justin Hammer and there are chances that we will see him incarcerated in Seagate prison and Phase 4 as we all know that they still build a lot of enhanced weapons as shown in Luke Cage Season 1, that a tech of Hammer industries made a weapon which can neutralize even powerful beings like Luke Cage. So, that’s why we could expect him to be in Phase 4 with some deadly and lethal weapons in his hands.

 9. Karl Mordo:

MCU Villains Phase 4

The chances of Mordo’s return are very high as he was one of the students of Ancient One and was trained alongside Doctor Strange but Mordo wasn’t a big fan of Doctor Strange’s work and wanted to use magic in a bad way as he thinks that just like everything, there’s price for even magic. In the post-credits scene of the movie, we saw that Mordo decided to launch a campaign in order to drain out all the magic present in the world. So, there are very strong chances that we will see him in the movie Doctor Strange 2.

 8. The Leader:

MCU Villains Phase 4

We also saw Samuel Sterns in the movie, The Incredible Hulk as he was destined to be known as ‘The Leader’. He was a scientist who was really fascinated by the Gamma-irradiated DNA. A wound on his head was exposed with Bruce Banner’s blood as a result of which, he underwent mutation process. But, it has been stated by Kevin Feige that he hasn’t forgotten The Leader and is just looking for a better opportunity to bring him back in the MCU.

 7. The Mandarin:

MCU Villains Phase 4

It’s not easy to get Mandarin alive on the big screen because of the look it has in the comics but in Iron Man 3 we saw that the makers of the movie went on a different approach as they made the character more of a genius from mind and changed their character to an English actor who decided to make propaganda films in order to make some money. So, as we all know that the real Mandarin is out there and could return any time. He is such a dangerous character that he could bring a lot of interesting things in the MCU.

 6. Red Skull:

MCU Villains Phase 4

One of the earliest Marvel villains we got a chance to see was Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger. He’s one of Cap’s most nefarious villains as the leader of Hydra. The character earns this spot because his look and the performance was handled extremely well. While he may have died in the film and was a little underutilized, he certainly stands as one of the MCU’s best villains so far and after seeing him in the movie Avengers: Infinity War, there are more indications that he is going to be in the plans of Phase 4 of Marvel Studios.

MCU Villains Phase 4

Also, he has intimately tied with two infinity stones but also has the copy of Yggdrasil with him, which some of you will know that is an Asgardian book in which the Infinity Stones are described in the simplest way and also has some cosmic history and secrets in it. There are chances that killing Red Skull is going to be too much for any superhero because of the way he appeared in the Infinity War was quite scary and by using the book of Yggdrasil he could do a lot of damage to the universe.

 5. The Scorpion:

MCU Villains Phase 4

We saw a lot of Spider-Man villains in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming but some of them weren’t at the point of being the sole or the main villain of any Spider-Man movie and Scorpion was one of them. Scorpion is a cybernetic killer, in other words, a very brutal and lethal crime boss. The man was seen in the movie when he tried to get some very advanced tech from the Vulture gang. Also, we saw him in the post-credits scene when we saw him imprisoned with Vulture. With the reports of having Vulture in Phase 4, there are chances that Marvel will bring this strong character also in some time.

 4. The Shocker:

MCU Villains Phase 4

On one side where fans were happy seeing the Vulture in more of a modern technological costume, they got absolutely shattered when they realized that Shocker is going to be an ordinary person in comparison to the Shocker we have in the comics. In the movie, the position of Shocker was shifted from one team member of Vulture to another. Still, we haven’t seen any resemblance of the character to the one we have in comics. If we talk about his return in the MCU then we all know that for the moment he is behind bars and could come with Scorpion on the big screen.

 3. Thanos:

MCU Villains Phase 4

Well, it was a no-brainer that Thanos was going to top this list. Thanos was being set up as the big bad guy of MCU and he actually proved to be one! He came in, beat every Avenger he fought, sacrificed his loved one for the cause he believed in and ultimately did what no other villain was able to do. Thanos was the only one who actually defeated the Avengers, and in doing so, he wiped out half the population of the entire Universe!

MCU Villains Phase 4

Thanos was the hero of his own story and we could absolutely relate to his motivations! Well, there are very high chances that Thanos isn’t going to be dead anytime soon even after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will resume his career as a lethal warlord in the Phase 4 of MCU.

 2. The Tinkerer:

MCU Villains Phase 4

We saw this character in Spider-Man: Homecoming, as he was one of the members of the Vulture gang and was playing a tech expert. He was involved in a lot of alien technology for many years. But, he’s still in the safe zone and could make a return in future Spider-Man movies as he is one of the villains of Spider-Man’s world who have certain things with them as Scorpion have Cyborgs, Mysterio has the technology, and Tinkerer has alien technology and hunger for knowledge.

 1. Ultron:

MCU Villains Phase 4

Ultron was accidentally created by Tony Stark. Stark meant for him to be the protector of the world and bring peace but he misunderstood that notion. He thought that peace can only be brought by the destruction of humanity and starting over. Ultron was pretty destructive and took a great toll on the Avengers, becoming one of the factors that lead to the Civil War.

MCU Villains Phase 4

Talking about his return in the Phase 4, we all know that Tony Stark had the duty of destroying every single piece of Ultron technology from the world but he couldn’t do his job properly as in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming we saw that Vulture gets his hands on Ultron tech and there are chances that there is a lot like it out there. So, Ultron, for now, is dormant but not ended.

So, these are the villains who could make a return in Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, which villain do you want to see again? Tell us in the comments section down below.
