Avengers: Endgame – Here’s The Smartest Guess to Where The Ancient One Will Appear
We have arrived in 2019, the year of the biggest superhero film of all time, Avengers: Endgame! If you thought that Avengers: Infinity War was bigger in scale, scope, and magnitude, think again because the MCU mega finale will assemble the biggest roster in the entire Hollywood industry as well as the Superhero genre. From fresh new talents who we recently got familiar with to the veterans of Hollywood, everyone is going to be a part of the film.
The likes of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans are going to lead from the front while a massive roster of A-List actors is going to join them. As far as supporting small role characters go, we have the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Tilda Swinton, and probably even Cate Blanchett who will join the big team that takes down Josh Brolin’s Thanos once and for all. Since there is so much that will happen, and so many characters involved, we cannot possibly predict who will play what arc in the film.
As for some actors, their characters are not officially confirmed to be in the film. Those actors include Tilda Swinton, Peter Dinklage, Benicio Del Toro and so on. Among these folks, it is more or less confirmed that Tilda Swinton’s the Ancient One is going to be a part of the film. Reports suggested that she was seen on the set during the reshoots for just one day. Then Mark Ruffalo mentioned the fact that he recently enjoyed working with both Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton.
Now we know that he would have worked with Blanchett on Thor: Ragnarok, although they didn’t even share the screen once, Swinton and he have never worked together on any project. So, Avengers: Endgame is the only link that could be between these two actors.
Considering this, Redditor jackramz517 has based a good thought upon how the Ancient One could be in the film, as she has to appear with the Hulk at some point and not have a significant role to play overall.
So here’s the theory suggested by the Redditor:
“I have a theory that I’ve had for a while where it involves a scene that we got set photos from a while ago which involves older Tony Stark with greyish blond hair, what looks like present cap in OG Avengers attire, Hulk and Ant-Man with those wrist devices in the Final battle from the 1st Avengers movie. I, for the time being, am sold on the theory that the Avengers go back in time in different realities through the Quantum Realm to retrieve the infinity stones and bring them back to build their own gauntlet to reverse the snap and then Crusade Thanos with a fully intact team of all the heroes.
However, if you think hard enough there are 3 Infinity Stones that the Avengers can retrieve in the battle of New York. The Tesseract is on top of Stark Tower (then is given to Thor but presumably taken by Sheild before given back to him), The Scepter which Loki has and is taken by Shield which has the Mind Stone. But Tony and Bruce/Hulk know where the Sanctum is.
We know in the movie there is a door which leads to Karmartaj in Nepal which is like the center where all the Sorcers train and whatever. The Time Stone in the Eye of Aggamoto is there which means it is close to New York via a portal thing. What if the Avengers during the Battle of New York get the Tesseract and the Scepter and then have to fight the Ancient one and Sorcerers possibly including Kaceilius and Mordo. This is farfetched but makes sense due to the fact the Mark Ruffalo hasn’t worked with Tilda Swinton in anything until this movie. Maybe Mark Ruffalo is in a Mo cap suit as the Hulk fighting the ancient one for the time stone.”
As the redditor himself mentions it, all this is a little far-fetched, but this may be a cool way to bring her back, as this would dive into the history of Kamartaj and also give some weight to Kaecilius, who was a rather weaker villain. But given all that is going to happen in Avengers: Endgame, this may be a rather pointless way to acquire the Time Stone since it doesn’t really do the plot of the film any good. But let’s see what happens.
Avengers: Endgame hits the theatres on April 26.
