Round 9 Premier League Review

To the relief of many, Premier League action resumes after the international break. With a set of some exciting fixtures, the most unpredictable and entertaining league in the world saw 23 goals scored in the 8 games that were scheduled for Saturday, 17th October.

The action kicked-off at White Hart Lane as Liverpool, under their new manager Jürgen Klopp held Tottenham to a goal less draw. Sam Allardyce couldn’t bring Sunderland their first win of the season as the Black Cats went down to West Brom by the narrowest of margins. Manchester United returned to winning ways with a totally unpredictable score line against Everton at Goodison Park.

Leicester City came away with a point from Southampton after yet another comeback. Manchester City annihilated newcomers Bournemouth at the Etihad. A little pressure off Jose Mourinho and a lot of pressure on Tim Sherwood as Chelsea beat Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge. 10-man Crystal Palace fell at home to giant killers West Ham. The late kick-off saw Watford going down to high flying Arsenal at Vicarage Road.

Goal tally rose from 23 to 32 as the remaining two games which were played on Sunday and Monday saw 9 goals. Newcastle had some relief after thumping Norwich City while Stoke City visited the Liberty Stadium and returned with all three points after a narrow win over Swansea.
