In the real world, two Pantheons that used to be (and probably are) famous are the Greek Pantheon of Olympus and the Norse Pantheon of Asgard. In the comic book universe, the Greek Gods and the Norse Gods reign supreme. Their most well-known faces are Hercules and Thor respectively. Hercules started out as a demi-God, a champion of brute strength who won the Gods’ heart and became one of them after dying a hero’s death. Hercules is the God of Strength and Power in Greek Mythology and has been to a ton of adventures in the comic books. Thor – well, we all know how crazy powerful he is. The God of Thunder is strong enough to rip Thanos a new one. That alone is enough to explain his strength. So what happens when both these Gods decide to go toe to toe? Presenting – Thor vs Hercules – Can the God of Thunder defeat the God of Strength?!?!
Hercules has the typical abilities of an Olympian God. He has superhuman speed and durability, extraordinary stamina and Godlike endurance. He is completely resistant to diseases and poisons and has heightened longevity. Hercules also has an incredibly fast healing factor corresponding to his Godly status. As the God of Strength, Hercules has shown the ability to bring down two cliffs to trap an opponent with his bare hands, could snap rock into powder and punch gigantic yellow crested Titan monsters to a standstill.
Hercules even boasts of the ability to drag the island of Manhattan with his strength. He carries around with him an adamantine mace that is as strong and durable as Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir. He also has access to several magical items and is well versed in all forms of combat including Greco-Roman wrestling and the elite martial art he invented called Pankration. The guy is also completely immune to Magic.
Thor Odinson holds the might hammer of Mjolnir, a weapon forged within a dying star. As all Asgardians gods do, Thor possesses superhuman physical attributes. He also has a healing factor and is resistant to all known human diseases and poisons. Thor is the God of Thunder and hence, has complete control over lightning and thunderstorms. When he spins his hammer, Thor can fly by using his hammer as a slingshot.
Thor also has the ability to open portals to other dimensions and has access to Norse magic. Thor has a level of strength that far exceeds any Asgardians’ but it is said to be lower than Hercules’. He also possesses energy manipulation abilities. Thor is one of Marvel Universe’s greatest fighters and throughout his life, has been well versed in several forms of Asgardian martial arts. As a last resort, Thor can enter into a berserker stage where his strength and speed increases tenfold.
Final Fight – Thor vs Hercules
The situation could be pretty simple. Thor and Hercules have many times found themselves at the other end of the spectrum. One of these situations could be extrapolated to provoke a fight between the two Gods.
So who will win a fight between the two? Which God will reign supreme!!!
It is Thor!!! Thor’s mystical abilities far outweigh his lack of physical prowess compared to Hercules. The only advantage Hercules has is his vast strength. Thor can fly out of sight and just use devastating long-range attacks to take Hercules out. Hercules does not even have an answer for that kind of strategy should Thor decide to use it. There are just too many ways in Thor’s bag of tricks to count when it comes to taking out a guy like Hercules. Thor takes this fight fair and square.
Thor last appeared in Avengers Infinity war. The movie has already witnessed its Blu-Ray and DVD release. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
