SPOILER ALERT – Major Spoilers for Thor #6 Up ahead. If you still have not read it yet and are intending to, then we suggest you look away….
The Thor issues by Jason Aaron and Christian Ward have taken down a trip to crazy town. The storyline begins billions of years in the future when the Marvel universe is slowly dying due to lack of energy to hold itself together. King Thor and Phoenix Force-Wolverine are the only two beings that have managed to survive the big crunch of the universe. And they decided to turn their rage towards each other.
In the end, Doctor Doom with the powers of Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Star Brand, and other magical forces decided to absorb both their powers to become the strongest being there is. Wolverine decided to give up his life and infuse King Thor’s hammer with the Phoenix Force as a last ditch effort to defeat Doom. It worked.
Thor pushed Doom into the core of the Earth where the two battled for literally centuries until Thor came out as the victor.
Little did he know that the troubles of this universe were far from being over! In the other end of the cosmos, another villain had risen up from the ashes. Loki had bonded with the Venom symbiote and was now more powerful than anybody could ever imagine.
We present to you the Symbiote Loki!!!
In the distant future, we see Ego the Living Planet scouring through the cosmos looking for life to consume. The sentient planet made famous after its cinematic debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had somehow managed to survive the end of creation. But how? It turns out Ego had with it the mystical necro-sword, a sword of pure black magic that had infused in Ego a level of power beyond imagination but had also increased his hunger for consuming life energy to catastrophic levels.
Within Ego there was a green worm. This worm whispered and moved around Ego’s surface so much that Ego decided to rip himself apart just so it could kill this worm. The worm only laughed and dodged every attack Ego threw at him.
In the end, Ego asked the worm what it wanted. And the worm replied that it wanted the thing that made Ego so powerful. It wanted the Necro-Sword. After Ego agreed to his demands and the worm got what it wanted, it transformed into its actual form. And it was none other than Loki.
Loki becomes a Cosmic God
The Necro-Sword is not an ordinary artifact. It holds immense power. It was the weapon that allowed the God of symbiotes, Knull, to fight the entirety of the Celestials. One guy fought the entire Celestial Host to a standstill with the help of this Necro-Sword. Loki knows this and he knows whoever has it will rule all of creation.
The pages of Thor #6 show exactly why Loki and Thor are fighting to take over the world. One is trying to save it while the other wants to destroy it and create life anew. Up until now, Loki was in hiding because King Thor was just too great an enemy to take on. But since he has the Necro-Sword, the tables might turn to Loki’s favor.
Loki is also in possession of the All-Black Symbiote. The All-Black Symbiote has been confirmed to be the strongest symbiote of them all in Marvel Comics. Combined with the prowess of the All-Black, his own magical abilities that have grown over time and the newly acquired Necro-Sword, Loki has become a force to be reckoned with, a force that might be too strong even for King Thor along with his Phoenix Force powered Mjolnir armor.
Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I’m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just… do things
