Iron Fist vs The Hulk: Can the Immortal Iron Fist Survive the Smashing?

This battle may bring an insane amount of laughter to the general audiences, but if you have read the comics and really know about Danny Rand, you would know that he can hold off his own even with the likes of the Green Goliath! Without wasting much time, let’s analyze their strengths and deduce who’s gonna win – Iron Fist or The Hulk.

Iron Fist

The immortal iron fist is, in reality, a child with a trust fund and too much free time on his hands. Or rather this is what the Netflix series will lead you to believe. In reality, Danny Rand was another attempt by Marvel to use and apply the batman formulae in their comics to come up with a relevant character to rival the dark knight. A broken man with a broken past and too much money hoping to correct the status quo of the world he lives in. this is the reality of Danny Rand.

The heir to the Rand Corporation and world’s greatest martial artist (at least in the Marvel comic universe). He lost his parents at the age of nine when his father decided to take a hiking trip to the Himalayas in search of the doorway to K’un-Lun (K’un-Lun is a separate dimension of martial artists which is where the Rand family hails from).

The journey to look for the Nexus to K’un-Lun claimed the lives of Danny’s parents and ended with Daniel being saved by vestiges of K’un-Lun. He was trained by ancient heroes in this dimension and he slowly forged the way to become the immortal Iron fist over the next ten years. He has an amazing set of powers and most of them have not even been touched by the Netflix version of the character. His life-long training has granted him unmatchable skills that allow him to knock down even the strongest. He has also attained magic immunity.

Other than harnessing powers from his chi, Danny is able to absorb powers from his surroundings and put them to use pretty effectively. He has perfected the ability of the Hypnotic fist which allows him to hypnotize opponents in the middle of a battle. By harnessing his chi, he gets the ultimate control over all his senses and since he has that, he is actually able to shut off pain and that makes him a rather unbeatable fighter in combat. His immense focus upon chi also allows him to hop through dimensions!

Most importantly, he has the Iron Fist which is the most basic and lethal weapon that he possesses. He fought the Serpent Dragon and defeated him. In the end, he plunged his hands into the vase and from the molten heart of the serpent, he received the power of the Iron fist. He packs another insane trick up his sleeve which is turning the non-living buildings and monoliths into chi powered weapons of the Iron Fist.

The Hulk

Hulk is a force no one can control, not even he himself. When he is ‘Smashing’ no one stays standing. Hulk is probably the strongest Avenger (well according to Tony he is) and no one would want to cross paths against this giant green rage monster. Bruce Banner is a scientist with a genius level intellect and he became the Hulk when he was accidentally exposed to Gamma rays during the detonation of an experimental bomb as they were trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. Instead what was created was this big Green Goliath.

Marvel Comics

When Banner transforms into the Hulk, he becomes extremely powerful and loses control being subjected to emotional stress, at or against his will, often leading to destructive rampages and conflicts that complicate Banner’s civilian life. His Strength is often proportionate to the level of anger he possesses at a time.

Attacking the Hulk will make him angrier and hence even stronger, so that would be a foolish mistake to make for anyone. His powers include superhuman strength and durability. He can run really fast despite being so heavy and can jump higher than a building.

Iron Fist vs The Hulk

Iron Fist cannot match the Hulk’s strength and he can certainly not match him shot per shot! But his Iron Fist can really cause some temporary damage to the Hulk! He will have to fight long and smart here and use almost every ability that is at his disposal!  The use of dimensional walking could allow him to make sneak attacks upon the Hulk while using the buildings and other surrounding things as Chi Powered weapons could come in handy for Distracting the Hulk.

Danny’s training would allow him to even resist certain blows of the Hulk, but he will have to dodge most of them and be able to attack with many blows using the Iron Fist. Iron Fist can actually last survive the Hulk if the battle has to be for a limited time period. He can even have the upper hand for a while, but his constant attacks are going to make him angrier, thus stronger, so he will ultimately be smashed! If he is not vigilant right from the get-go, then the Hulk might end the battle within minutes. The Netflix version of the Iron Fist won’t actually last seconds!
