10 Theories About What Happens In The MCU After Loki

The sixth episode of Loki left a lot of questions unanswered for the MCU fans. But the biggest one is what’s going to happen next in the MCU. Loki has implied a lot of what is on the horizon and there are various future projects whose titles have been already announced. Loki has teased more about the future of Marvel in comparison to WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It also has bigger complications that are going to change the face of the MCU forever.

1. X-Men or Sony’s Venomverse could Enter the MCU

Using the multiverse idea also lets Marvel reuse pre-established movie continuity. Fox’s X-Men films have been liked by everyone and have the best cast that can be integrated into the MCU through the multiverse. WandaVision also teased this by casting Evan Peters as Quicksilver, although it wasn’t Quicksilver. Venom did well and is now getting a sequel. Venom is incomplete without Spider-Man and so the multiverse can also integrate Spider-Man. This way Morbius can also be introduced.

2. A Secret Wars Event

In the sixth episode of Loki, Kang the Conqueror mentioned a war between different versions of himself that destroyed almost all of the reality. The description sounds reminiscent of what happened in Secret Wars. In that story, the Multiverse was destroyed and Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange, and Molecule Man managed to use the powers of the Beyonders to meld Earths from across the Multiverse into one planed called Battleworld of Latverion. Possibly, MCU is leading to a multiversal conflict where various versions of Marvel heroes and villains come into conflict because of the manipulations of some iteration of Kang himself.

3. Loki Returns in various Marvel Movies

What Happens In The MCU After Loki

Possibly this is not the last we will get to see of Loki. A second season of the Disney+ show has been already announced. So possibly, the character will be seen again in another Marvel movie. Well, this may not be the same Loki we know and love. It can be Sylvie or one of the other variants that were introduced throughout the series.

4. The Multiverse Gets Explored

The concept of the multiverse is not going to be the main theme and plot point in Marvel movies in the upcoming future. Doctor Strange sequel has been titled In The Multiverse of Madness. The rumors of Spider-Man: No Way Home implies multiverse shenanigans with villains and prior Spider-Man actors being involved. Kang the Conqueror will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It may revolve around time travel and universe hopping. Miss America or America Chavez will be present here coming from another dimension called the Utopian Parallel.

5. Captain America and Iron Man will return

This can be a way to bring back Steve Rogers and Tony Stark through some method. They might not cast the same actors considering that it will be an alternate timeline but it is a way to get back the beloved characters for some time. This is the only way to resurrect dead characters going forward although that is famously a slippery slope in the superhero comic book scene.

6. The MCU collides with Marvel Comics

It is very wild speculation and it is hard to imagine what this will even look like. But possibly there can be a meeting point between Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Comics Universe at some point. The multiverse has opened many possibilities and the MCUB has an Earth designation, which is 199999. Possibly, they would meet in the comics but the multiverse has opened a lot of doors.

7. Kang the Conqueror becomes the new Big Bad

What Happens In The MCU After Loki

Kang the Conqueror can be a recurring figure after his apparent death in the final episode of Loki. Also, he is confirmed to be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But possibly, he might appear in Doctor Strange and Spider-Man’s upcoming sequels. He held a grudge against the Fantastic Four for a long time. A new Fantastic Four reboot has been already announced. Possibly, Kang will threaten Captain Marvel, Ironheart, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, and many more characters.

8. Thanos Return from an Alternate Timeline

Thanos could return at some point and it looks very easy to make this since Thanos is from an alternate timeline. We now know that one exists and it’s because of the Thanos-copter in Loki. Bringing back Thanos can be an easy way to make whatever coming threat even more palpable and overwhelming; although the trivialization of the Infinity Stones in Loki has done that to some degree.

9. Fantastic Four or X-Men Arrive from an Alternate Universe

The Fantastic Four and X-Men may originate in an alternate universe at this point. It lets the characters be introduced and meet the pre-established MCU cast without a film dedicated to their origin story. It has to be mentioned that Kang the Conqueror is a descendant of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman from an alternate timeline. So, this alternate timeline can be the native timeline of Fantastic Four.

10. The MCU explores futures like 2099 or The Guardians 3000

Alternate timelines and unlocked futures can also bring some well-loved alternate futures from the comics. It can specifically bring the 2099 timeline along with its own Spider-Man and X-Men. It can also bring Guardians of the Galaxy from the year 3000 which is the original version of the Guardians of the Galaxy seen in the comics. This team has a very different lineup that fights to free Earth from the alien Badoon in the 31st century.

So according to us, this is what happens in the MCU after Loki.
