Captain America 4 Could Change MCU in 10 Major Ways

A few of the MCU’s characters are finally getting a chance to explore more of their origins. One of them is Sam Wilson aka Falcon. The character recently appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Disney+. Now we all saw that he was not ready to take the mantle of Captain America in the beginning but he finally took it towards the end while defeating the Flag-Smashers. Now a few reports say that Captain America 4 has been officially confirmed, although the announcement is yet to be made by Marvel Studios. Now let’s see how Captain America 4 could change MCU.

How Captain America 4 Could Change MCU

1. Sharon Carter Could Sell Government Secrets

After she helped Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes in getting their gears back, Sharon Carter was termed as the enemy of the state. Although we don’t get to see that, she has been holding a lot of anger against the government. Now it was revealed in the final episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that Sharon Carter was the Power Broker who was referenced throughout the series. After she was called back to the CIA, she called someone saying that now she has access to everything. Possibly, the character could sell classified information on the black market, and eventually, that could bring down the government.

2. General Ross might recruit John Walker to lead the MCU’s Thunderbolts

General “Thunderbolt” Ross is a character that has appeared in a few MCU movies. Now MCU fans are also expecting Ross to assemble his own Thunderbolts team with the characters from the franchise. According to the comics, Thunderbolts are a team of reformed supervillains and it is like Marvel’s Suicide Squad. Now John Walker’s character was considered to be a villain in the beginning. But towards the end, we saw a changed John Walker. So possibly he might be recruited to lead the MCU’s Thunderbolts team as its Rick Flag figure.

3. Sam could reform the Avengers

The Avengers have disbanded after the death of Tony Stark and the retirement of Steve Rogers. But still, Avengers: Endgame was the highest-grossing film of all time. Marvel will not keep them disbanded for a long time and will now start to build Avengers 5 to reunite the team again with some new members. Also, in Captain America 4, Sam could reform the Avengers and put a new line-up. This could include She-Hulk, the Mighty Thor, and others taking on the mantle of the other superheroes in the Avengers team.

4. U.S. Agent could be a serious threat

John Walker was a character that was hated by most of the MCU fans. It is because the character turned out to be evil in one of the episodes and even fights with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes when they ask him to give back the shield. Now the character changed towards the end and helped Sam and Bucky to fight the Flag-Smashers. He was given a new costume and codename “U.S. Agent” by Valentina. Considering that, the character can prove to be a serious threat to the America that Sam wishes to protect.

5. Sam might dig deeper into Isaiah Bradley’s history

Captain America 4 Could Change MCU

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was inspired by Truth: Red, White & Black which was one of the darkest storylines of Marvel and was told through the eyes of Isaiah Bradley. The character was introduced in the Disney+ series. We got to know a few things about his history but the show did not have enough time to explore more about him. Now there is a chance that Sam can dig deeper into Isaiah’s history and find out what happened to the other Black soldiers who were wrongfully imprisoned and experimented on.

6. Chris Evans might return as Steve Rogers

MCU fans were expecting that Chris Evans might appear as Steve Rogers in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But that did not happen. Despite that, the appearance of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes was something that kept the audience engaged till the end. The show implied that Steve has died because of his old age but this was not verbally mentioned anywhere in the show. Now there is a chance that Steve Rogers might appear in Captain America 4. He might make an appearance to put on some advice for Sam Wilson as the new Captain America.

7. Contessa might be rebuilding HYDRA

We were clear about every character while watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But one character that kept us guessing towards the end was Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. The character was even thought to be the Power Broker and many MCU fans thought that the show had maybe revealed the identity of the Power Broker. The character is known as “Madame Hydra” in the comics. Considering that, she might be rebuilding HYDRA after it was taken down by Steve Rogers and his team in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

8. Sam could be grappling with the pressure of continuing Steve’s legacy

Captain America 4 Could Change MCU

Steve Rogers handed over his shield to Sam Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Sam was not willing to take on the mantle of Captain America immediately but he finally took it towards the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now it is very hard for Sam to take on the duties and responsibilities as the new Captain America. Steve Rogers was known for his decency and habit of saving the life of every civilian. Sam needs to gain the same trust from the public and that is the only way he can be the perfect Captain America. Now, Captain America 4 might be dealing with this pressure that is being faced by Sam Wilson.

9. Clear up what’s going on with the Sokovia Accords

The storyline of Sokovia Accords was left incomplete in Captain America: Civil War. Tony Stark, Colonel James Rhodes, and Vision signed it. But after that, there was a bombing at the UN, and King T’Chaka was killed. The Accords storyline was discontinued from there and the film got involved in the capturing of Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes and T’Challa trying to kill Bucky Barnes for killing his father, although he did not. The rest of the films dealt with the Avengers trying to stop Thanos from getting his hands on the Infinity Stones. Now Captain America 4 can finally reveal the status of the Sokovia Accords. We can finally get to know if it is active or has been withdrawn.

10. Bucky Barnes could get a new name

Bucky Barnes is a character that has changed throughout his journey in the MCU. The character was introduced as Steve Rogers’ friend, then a villain as the Winter Soldier and then becoming a good guy again. Now he is the good guy. Now he might team up again with Sam Wilson in Captain America 4. Bucky maintained a good relationship with Wakanda since they helped him to get rid of his brainwashing. They might have been unhappy when Bucky broke Zemo out of prison. But still, there is a possibility that he could get a new name if he appears in Captain America 4.

So this is how Captain America 4 could change MCU.
