10 Interesting Facts About Peter Parker and Tony Stark

Marvel Cinematic Universe is not just a franchise of superheroes and villains. It has explored other things as well like family, friendships, emotions, and much more. One of them is the relationship between Tony Stark and Spider-Man. Spider-Man made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War. The introduction between them happened in a more friendly way compared to other MCU debuts. Tony was like a mentor and a father to Peter Parker. Now since Tony is no more, let’s check out more about this relationship.

1. Peter’s room

Maybe most of us did not notice Peter’s bedroom after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Yes, it has changed a bit. Initially what we saw that Peter’s room had one bed, a messy desk, and no wardrobe. But the room kept upgrading with every movie. That one bed and messy desk were replaced by a fancy bunk bed and sleek desk. There was a well-designed cupboard for the clothes. Of course, Aunt May cannot afford all of this. It is Tony Stark for sure.

2. Difference between E.D.I.T.H. and JARVIS

Tony Stark always had an AI to operate his suits and complete his other work at the same time. Initially, his AI was JARVIS. After he was born as Vision, the place was taken by a female AI FRIDAY. Even Peter Parker received Stark’s glasses in Far From Home. It was equipped with the AI E.D.I.T.H. Now you might have noticed a difference between E.D.I.T.H. and JARVIS. JARVIS and FRIDAY were made by Tony. But they had a sarcastic attitude and also responded to Stark’s commands. But Stark gave a soft voice to E.D.I.T.H. for young Peter Parker.

3. Tony says “I lost the kid”

It has been mentioned earlier that Tony and Peter shared a father-son-like relationship. This was seen in every movie. Most of the MCU fans shed tears during the Thanos’ snap and half of the universe was wiped out including Spider-Man. He says to Tony that he is not feeling good and then he disintegrates. When Iron Man is rescued by Captain Marvel in space and he meets Steve Rogers on Earth, he says “I lost the kid”. This clearly shows that Tony considered Peter like his son.

4. Iron Monger and Mysterio

If you see the MCU movies without missing a single detail, you can find parallels between Tony and Peter’s life and also growing up and dealing with loss. The same type of role was played by Obadiah Stane and Quentin Beck in two men’s lives. Obadiah was a mentor to Tony when he lost his father. In the same way, Quentin appeared when Peter was dealing with Tony Stark’s death who was like a father. But towards the end, both the mentors turn out to be villains.

Both Tony Stark and Peter Parker have experienced death in the MCU. The Avengers tried their best to stop Thanos from getting the Infinity Stones. But they failed and with one snap, Thanos wiped out half of the universe. Most of the people disintegrated including some superheroes and Peter Parker. These were undone and Peter was brought back in Avengers: Endgame. Here the Avengers were able to stop Thanos but Tony Stark sacrificed himself and died in front of Peter Parker.

6. Following RDJ and Tony’s footsteps

MCU fans, particularly the fans of Iron Man might have seen the scenes where Tony and Peter play with tech. Peter’s suit was upgraded by mistake in Avengers: Infinity War when one of Tony’s suit accessories dropped on Peter’s suit. Now MCU did the best thing to keep Tony alive among all of us. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was seen making his suit in Spider-Man: Far From Home. This looks the same as what Tony Stark did in Iron Man.

7. Tony pays attention to Peter Parker

Tony has been an arrogant billionaire and genius from the beginning. We have mostly seen him ignoring the ideas of others. But as mentioned earlier, Tony maintained a father-son-like relationship with Peter Parker. This is the reason Tony cared a lot about him. Peter Parker left a voice note for Tony Stark and Tony listened to it carefully. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, he referred to the lady who brought Peter Churro and advised him not to chase Vulture. This indicates that Tony listened to all of Peter’s voice messages.

8. Peter sends Nick Fury to voicemail

In Avengers: Infinity War, Iron Man says to Peter that he is now an Avenger. But compared to other Avengers, Peter Parker was not much serious about the job. He didn’t care much about saving the world. He was more interested in enjoying his college life. This is the reason he used to send Nick Fury to voicemail. The same thing was also done by Tony Stark. This forced Nick Fury to hijack Peter’s high school trip and inform him about the impending danger.

9. Tony dies after meeting Peter Parker

Most of the MCU fans have spotted a connection between the characters in Peter’s life and their fate. Uncle Ben was not seen in this new Spider-Man universe. But one thing the MCU fans noticed here is that Tony Stark did not die till Spider-Man entered his life. A few have named it the Parker curse.

10. Tony’s inspiration for time travel

The Avengers tried to undo everything Thanos has done in Avengers: Endgame. They tried to do it through time travel. Now Tony had one reason to go back in time and it was to resurrect Peter Parker. He says, “I’ve got a mild inspiration…So, I’d like to run one last sim…. This time in the shape of a Morbius strip… inverted, please.” The inspiration to make it inverted came from a picture of Tony Stark and Peter Parker holding an inverted certificate.
