Apart from Iron Man, Steve Rogers is considered one of the best MCU superheroes. The reason is that Rogers was not arrogant like how Tony Stark was from the beginning. Rogers is one of those superheroes who ensured that not a single civilian should lose their life. It is true that he has also done some mistakes. But they did not have any sort of severe impact on anyone. So, let’s have a look at the great things Steve Rogers has done in the MCU.
1. Supported and believed in Natasha Romanoff
Steve and Natasha shared a very close bond with each other. Their friendship was also one of the main highlights of MCU. Both the characters are loyal to each other. They took care of and helped each other after 2014. Steve always listens to what Natasha has to say. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Natasha was mad at Steve after Nick Fury’s death. But she came back to help him when she got to know that Steve has been framed by S.H.I.E.L.D.
2. Saved Bucky Barnes’s life
Bucky Barnes has been Steve’s closest friend. Initially, Steve was a bit shocked when he discovered that the Winter Soldier is none other than Bucky. Bucky even failed to recognize Steve. Despite that, Steve was hesitant to fight Bucky. Bucky pulled Steve out of the river. Later when Bucky was framed by Zemo in the murder of King T’Chaka and the bombing of the UN, Steve came to his rescue. Both of them escaped together. Steve was aware of the fact that Bucky is innocent.
3. Visited Peggy in the hospital
Steve and Peggy were finally united towards the end of Avengers: Endgame. A few MCU fans were not so satisfied with this. But still, Steve proved that no one forgets their first love. Steve was seen meeting Peggy despite the fact that she has become old and bedridden. When the Avengers were quarreling on the signing of Sokovia Accords, Steve received a message saying that Peggy is gone in her sleep. He immediately went to her funeral.
4. Broke Sam and others out of The Raft
In Captain America: Civil War, Steve, and Bucky escaped in a jet. But Wanda Maximoff, Sam Wilson, Scott Lang, and Clint Barton were caught and put in The Raft. Sam supported Steve since he has been his friend since Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Others supported Steve because they had their own reasons. So, as a kind of payback for their support, Steve broke them out of jail.
5. Threw himself on the grenade to save others
Steve proved a long time back that he is the perfect choice for the Super Soldier Serum program. He was already a superhero from his heart. This happened before he became Captain America. He threw himself on a grenade to save others. Although the grenade turns out to be a fake one, Steve proves that he is ready to sacrifice himself in order to save others.
6. Sacrificed himself by crashing the Valkyrie
Towards the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, Rogers climbs on Red Skull’s aircraft when it takes off. During the fight, the Tesseract’s container was damaged. It burns through the plans and is lost in the ocean. Seeing no way to land the plane without detonating the weapons, Steve says goodbye to Peggy Carter and crashes the plane in the Arctic. Once again, he proves that others’ lives matter for him more than his own life.
7. Believed Bucky and tried to find a safe place for him
The disagreement between Tony and Steve was unexpected in Captain America: Civil War. No one expected that the Avengers will start to fight among themselves. Bucky was framed by Zemo in the bombing of UN. When Bucky said Steve that he was not in Vienna, Steve believed him. It is a truth that Bucky was brainwashed by HYDRA. But still, Steve remained loyal to him since he knew that somewhere, the old Bucky was alive inside the Winter Soldier.
8. Took down the Helicarriers
Steve was framed as a fugitive from S.H.I.E.L.D. Initially, he was against Project Insight. Later it was revealed that HYDRA has been secretly operating for a long time inside S.H.I.EL.D. HYDRA planned to use those Helicarriers to eliminate everyone around the globe. This is the time when Steve decided to take down S.H.I.EL.D. He and Sam together replaced the controller chips of the Helicarriers and made them fire at each other.
9. Spent Time with Wanda Maximoff
Steve and Wanda did not share much screen space with each other. But they shared a very good friendship. As seen in Avengers: Infinity War, Steve, Sam, and Natasha were seen helping Wanda and Vision to live together. In Captain America: Civil War supports her after the incident in Lagos. He feels guilty for the loss of many lives. Hew then tries to help Wanda understand that it was not her fault.
10. Chose Sam Wilson as His Successor
Steve did well by not choosing Bucky to carry his shield. He wanted his friend to finally live his life. So instead, he consulted with Bucky and passed the shield on to Sam Wilson, who truly deserved it. And now, Sam has finally stepped up as the new Captain America. He has already proven Steve right.
