MCU Characters Who Appear in Nick Fury’s Disney+ Series:
Back in September, it was revealed that Samuel L. Jackson will appear in his own Disney+ series. For a whole year now, we’ve heard rumors that a SWORD series is in development for Disney+. It will carry MCU’s Secret Invasion plot forward. So, along with Fury, many other characters could appear in the series. This show could actually become what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was originally meant to be as many characters of the MCU could just show up for 1 or two episodes and just leave. So, here’s a list of characters that might crossover into this series.
Maria Hill
The last time we saw the real Maria Hill appeared on screen was in Avengers: Endgame. Since Nick Fury is involved in the series, we have to believe that Maria Hill will also be there with him. Yes, she did not show up on the big SWORD base in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but she could definitely appear on the base now.
Talos, Soren & Skrulls
Nick Fury & Talos were working together in Far From Home. Since Fury was last seen on the SWORD base full of Skrulls, we reckon that Talos, his wife and other Skrulls will definitely return in this show. After all, there will be a secret invasion plot tied to this series! So, their presence is essential.
Yon Rogg & the Kree
In Far From Home, we heard Fury saying that there are Kree sleeper cells on Earth. So, the Kree people who look like humans could actually be the ones causing the Secret Invasion just like Hydra did in Phase 2. And Jude Law’s Yon Rogg might be the one to lead this invasion.
Monica Rambeau
Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau will come in as a SWORD agent in WandaVision. So, it is likely that she could continue in the SWORD series as well. But the only difference with her character could be that she might gain her comic accurate powers when she appears in the series. In the SWORD series, we might see her as Photon or Spectrum.
Darcy & Jimmy Woo
Kat Dennings was seen as Darcy among the SWORD agents in the latest WandaVision series. So, she could also continue to appear in the SWORD series after WandaVision. Set photos have shown Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man and the Wasp as a SWORD agent as well. So, the Darcy rule also applies to him.
Erik Selvig
Nick Fury recruited Doctor Selvig for S.H.I.E.L.D. back in Thor. His last physical appearance was in Avengers: Age of Ultron at the Avengers HQ. Now, he could be working for the SWORD.
Carol Danvers
A latest rumor has suggested that Brie Larson is in talks to appear in in the SWORD series as well. Given her connection with Fury & Talos, and the fact that the SWORD series will be tied to Captain Marvel 2, It is easy to believe that Captain Marvel will at least have a cameo in the show. But because the series is about Secret Invasion, she could come in and do much more.
Nova
Richard Rider aka Nova might connect with SWORD on Earth. In fact, his future film could actually be set up through the SWORD series. It remains to be seen how Nova will be brought into the MCU. But, don’t be surprised if his debut actually happens through SWORD.
We believe that several other Avengers could appear in this series. Spider-Man is one the candidates to have an appearance. Rhodey could definitely show up in it. Members of the Young Avengers could also be certain candidates. In fact, even Sam & Bucky could have roles to play in the show.
Apart from the characters we’ve already mentioned, several new characters could also follow Nova, and make their debut through SWORD. Blue Marvel, Abigail Brand & Beast could be among them. And, SWORD could further crossover into many other MCU projects too.
So, let’s wait and see which characters find their way into Agents of SWORD.
