Dragon Ball Super: Vegeta Finally Returns. He is Now Stronger Than All The Z Fighters

Dragon Ball Super Vegeta Finally Returns:

Dragon Ball Super is changing the very definition of the anime and manga series that has captivated audiences for decades. After so many villains and so many story arcs, Dragon Ball seemed to have become predictable and monotonous. The focus has shifted solely on Goku and his development as a Warrior. But Dragon Ball Super aims to change that. The new series that is supervised by Akira Toriyama is breaking multiple norms and it is doing it with style. The recent arc – the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, has shattered several stereotypes, chief amongst which is the amount of attention and spotlight the other Saiyan Warrior – Vegeta is getting. Vegeta has returned from a long and hard training session and he is now more powerful than ever. Not even Goku stands a chance to beat him.

Dragon Ball Super Vegeta Finally Returns

SPOILER ALERT: Major Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super Chapter 60 Up Ahead. Enter at your own risk…..

It was in Chapter 57 that Goku returned back to Earth to stop Moro from wreaking any more destruction. Moro is an ancient sorcerer that once led a trail of death and destruction before the Gods joined forces and stop him in his tracks. Using the Dragon Balls, Moro freed his henchmen to build up his army and wished himself back to his physical prime. An ancient foe that was once a match for the Gods was too much for Goku and Vegeta to handle. They decided to go their separate ways and train their butts off to understand their innate qualities and become strong enough to repel Moro’s attacks.

Goku trained under Merus, a former Angel who was now a part of the Galactic Patrol, to master his still untamed and volatile Ultra Instinct ability. He returned to Earth with the mastery of Ultra Instinct Sign – the Initial Stage of the technique of the Gods. With Ultra Instinct Sign, Goku made short work of many of Moro’s men but the head of the snake itself proved too much for the Saiyan Warrior. Moro seemed to have beforehand knowledge of Ultra Instinct and he was quick to figure out the flaws within Goku’s Ultra Instinct Sign technique. Moro realized that Goku can only sustain it for a very short period of time and he decided that he will just use his magic to stall until Goku runs out of energy and loses the battle.

Ultra Instinct Goes Against Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 60 has proven that Goku and Ultra Instinct do not go together. Like a monkey will never know the true taste of ginger, for Goku Ultra Instinct is just like any other technique. He is treating it the same way as Kaio-Ken or Spirit Bomb. He believes that if he pushes himself hard enough, he will master it. But Ultra Instinct is not any mortal technique. It is a technique for the Gods. It was built for Godly entities. Goku’s traditional approach to learning will not work here. And Dragon Ball Super has proven it time and time again, the latest being the Moro arc.

When Goku realized that Moro has already identified the massive hole in his armor, he did what he does best – charges him-self to full power and throws him-self at Moro with whatever energy he has left as an act of last resort. Merus, his mentor, is surprised and disappointed by Goku’s move. He is heard saying and we quote:

“No, Goku! You can’t! How long can he keep up that form while fighting at full power,” Meerus is seen asking Whis.

Goku has had practice with sustaining greater levels of Ki within his body. But that was Mortal Ki and it was the Super Saiyan form he trained in. Obviously that will not work with Ultra Instinct. Using Ultra Instinct requires Goku to forget all of his previous training. It required Merus to make Goku unlearn and re-learn a lot of things. If Goku ends up going against everything Merus has taught him till now, then not even Ultra Instinct will be able to save the day.

So why are we saying so much about Goku right now? It is because Akira Toriyama has finally realized that even Goku can falter sometimes. That there will be times when the other Saiyan Warrior – the Saiyan Prince Vegeta will have to step in to save everyone!

And that is EXACTLY what has happened. Vegeta has finally completed his Spirit Control training on Yardrat. Under the tutelage of the Combat Elders of Yardrat, Vegeta learned a lot about Ki Control and how to use it to enhance one’s own strength. Spirit Control is an ancient discipline that Yardrat Elders use to even the playing field with other physically stronger opponents. It grants the user abilities like cloning, size alteration, a teleportation ability called Instant Transmission as well as an advanced Healing factor. Vegeta also learned how to use Spirit Control to augment his combat abilities, the very reason he decided to go to Yardrat to learn this art in the first place.

Dragon Ball Super Moro Arc Could End

Vegeta then asks Elder Pybara to take him back to Earth so that he could help his friends defeat Moro. Pybara states that Yardrats cannot use Instant Transmission to leave the planet. Moreover, Goku is using Ultra Instinct so they cannot lock on to his Ki, which is the prerequisite for someone to use Instant Transmission. Back on Earth, Goku finally realizes that he does not have enough power to defeat Moro. He reverts back to his normal Saiyan form after spending all his Godly Ki. When Goku starts using Mortal Ki, Vegeta can sense him. He has already learned Instant Transmission by then and locks on to Goku’s Mortal Ki and returns back to Earth in an instant (pun intended).

Dragon Ball Super Vegeta Finally Returns

The only two beings that now stand between Moro and total destruction of Earth are Android 17 and Android 18. Since they are androids, they do not use Ki and so Moro cannot use his energy absorption power on them. The Androids are losing the battle. Vegeta coming back to Earth is a sight for sore eyes of the Z Fighters. He boasts about being more powerful than Moro and that Vegeta will be the one to beat him to a pulp. Vegeta transforms into the Super Saiyan Blue form. Piccolo and Gohan sense something different about Vegeta’s new Super Saiyan form. They realize that Vegeta is hiding a trick up his sleeve, something not even the Z Fighters have knowledge of as of now.

Dragon Ball Super Vegeta Finally Returns

Vegeta does not like to be shown his place. A proud warrior, he believes in always being on the top of the food chain – the apex predator if you will. All his life he has been second best. In New Namek, Moro proved to be stronger than him as well. That defeat seemed to be the final straw. Vegeta pushed him-self very hard to learn the secrets of Spiriti Control on Yardrat. It is time we see it in action.  The Saiyan Prince will finally fulfill his lifelong dream of showing the world that he is no longer the second best of them all. He is now once again at the top of the food chain. He is now the Apex Predator.

The last Dragon Ball arc to have been featured in the Manga is the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Released in the year 2018, the Manga is still on-going and again sees the Dragon Ball Universe in grave danger from an ancient enemy that has broken free of its prison. The official synopsis for the arc reads:

Galactic Patrol Kidnapping. Following the ordeal surrounding Broly, Goku trains with Vegeta in the Gravity Training Room. … Vegeta asks why he needs Buu and Merus explains that a dangerous criminal has broken free of the Galactic Prison and in order to recapture him they need the assistance of the Grand Supreme Kai.
