Every Marvel Superhero Who Could Replace Thor as The New God of The Avengers

Marvel Superhero could Replace Thor:

Thor is the God of Thunder and the erstwhile King of Asgard in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the Strongest Avenger, there is, Thor has gone on several adventures with the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. His was a journey of epic proportions. But like all good things, Chris Hemsworth’s journey as Thor is also coming to an inevitable end. The saga of the Odinson coming to a halt will no doubt give rise to another hero who will take his place. But who is strong enough and capable enough to fill Thor’s shoes?? There might be a few possibilities here. These heroes already more or less exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so it will be easier to see them take over. We will let you guys decide.

 1. Captain Marvel

Marvel Superhero could Replace Thor

She is probably the most obvious choice on this list. Captain Marvel has the strength and power to rival that of Thor. She will probably outrun and outmaneuver Thor right now. Carol has the power bestowed by an Infinity Stone in her possession. She is literally unstoppable. With energy manipulation powers that are nigh God-like, not even Thanos could find a way to stop her in her tracks in Avengers: Endgame. Carol has also been around for decades in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Captain Marvel took place decades before the events of the Infinity War. So she even has the experience to back her claim to the throne.

Captain

Captain Marvel also has a lot of lore surrounding her. As we all know, Thor is not just famous because he is powerful. There is entire mythology surrounding the guy that gives him a hell of a background. Thor is the God of Thunder. He is the King of Asgard. He is royalty. Captain Marvel may not have royal blood but she does have lore around her. After going on adventures in deep space, she has developed a reputation for herself that can rival that of any God. But her brash and arrogant behavior might be too much for the fans to take on an extended dosage.

 2. Hyperion

Marvel Superhero could Replace Thor

Hyperion has not appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. But he is about to pretty soon. The Loki TV Series will be taking place in an alternate timeline. And it will also include the organization known as the Time Variance Authority. Wherever the TVA is, expect the concept of alternate realities and parallel universes to spring up. And that is where Hyperion comes in.

Hyperion is the leader of the Squadron Supreme of Earth. The Squadron Supreme is actually a team based on DC Comics’ Justice League. Every Superhero within the Squadron Supreme is an analog of their Justice League counterparts. Hyperion is basically Marvel’s attempt at Superman. Hyperion has shown tremendous feats of strength in the comics. Hyperion of Earth 13034 has stopped a planet from hurtling out of its axis with his bare hands, survived being sandwiched between two planetoids, has the strength to keep two universes apart, and fought beings like Gladiator and the Hulk to a stand-still.

Hyperion of Earth 13034 actually now lives in the mainstream Marvel Comic Book Universe after his reality was destroyed. He is even an Avenger. How perfect is that!! Besides who would be a better choice at replacing Thor than someone who is pretty much Superman him-self!

 3. Ikaris

Ikaris is Eternal. He belongs to the same race as Thanos. Ikaris is more or less considered the leader of the Eternal race – an evolutionary offshoot of humanity that have immortality and God-like powers due to being experimented upon by the cosmic beings known as Celestials. Ikaris him-self is about twenty thousand years old. He is known as one of the most well-known Eternals in human history.

Marvel Superhero could Replace Thor

Ikaris, in comic books, has helped humanity several times. When the Second Host of the Celestials sacked Atlantis and Lemuria, Ikaris helped the refugees escape to safety. Known for his ability to fly, Ikaris took forward scouting positions to spot enemies and destroy their ships before they could attack the refugee ships. Ikaris is a benevolent hero with a very complicated history. He once fell in love with a Greek woman who bore him a son, named Ikaris. His son wanted to fly like his father so Makkari, another Eternal, developed a flight harness for him. Ikaris’ son flew too high died due to a lack of oxygen, the sun’s rays burning his harness in the upper atmosphere. That was what led to the story of Icarus and the Wax Wings. Ikaris has amazing energy manipulation powers that put him on the same level as Thor, if not higher.

 4. Doctor Strange

Marvel Superhero could Replace Thor

Doctor Strange is such a versatile superhero that he could replace literally the entire Holy Trinity of the MCU. He could be the next Iron Man of the team. He could be the next Captain America and lead the Avengers. He could be the next Thor for the Earth’s Mightiest heroes. But the most he fits in for a role as a replacement is as Thor. Doctor Strange would be perfect to become a hero what Thor once was for the MCU.

First of all, he has that mystical aspect to him. Thor belongs to the mysterious realm of Asgard. He is now its King. Doctor Strange is the Master of Magic. He is the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. When it comes to the Role of a Protector and Guardian, Strange and Thor have similar roles. Thor’s powers are more or less mystic in nature. His hammer Mjolnir has multiple enchantments placed on it and grants him several amazing abilities. Doctor Strange uses magic as a weapon in combat. He has several artefacts that may not be as powerful as Mjolnir but do the trick just the same. Being Thor also means that you need to have an aura that is charming and Godlike at the same time. Doctor Strange has that. He will probably do a better job of being the God-Member of the Avengers than Thor himself.

 5. Jane Foster

Jane Foster Thor

Natalie Portman is already appearing as the Goddess of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder. She has appeared in the first two Thor movies. After having her contract revoked due to Portman and the Studio having creative differences, she returns only for the fourth Thor movie after negotiations restarted. He will be perfect for replacing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for several reasons.

Jane Foster

In the comics, Jane Foster’s avatar as Thor gained her widespread recognition. A recovering cancer patient who decides to become Thor even though the longer she uses those powers, the nearer she comes to death, is a story that resonated with many Marvel Fans. Jane Foster has been a damsel in the Thor movies since time immemorial. She has been a part of the Thor lore and she knows everything there is to know about Norse mythology due to her history with Thor. She could be a very easy replacement for the Odinson for one other reason – the Avengers need more female representation. Jane Foster Thor could help them achieve that much-needed quota.

Spider-Man could be removed from the MCU

The Last Solo Marvel movie to be released under the Disney banner is Spider-Man: Far From Home. The movie was released on the 2nd of November, 2018. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.

Avengers: Endgame Writers Hero Hulk
