Infinity Stones Vs. Mother Box:
The Infinity Stones are Marvel’s most powerful cosmic objects that can tap into the very fabric of the universe. The Mother Boxes are tremendously powerful supercomputers that are powered by extra-dimensional, reality-altering energy called the Source. In the movies, we saw first-hand just how powerful these objects are. The Infinity Stones could change and manipulate time, reality, space, energy and a lot of other things. The mother Boxes can help its wielder teleport anywhere he wants to as well as terraform an entire planet. The Applications are huge for either. But there can be only one champion. For months now, the mother box and Infinity Stones are tied as the topmost contenders for the most powerful comic book object in the superhero genre universe. It is time to finally know the one that reigns supreme!
1. Ease of Use – Mother Box
If you consider the Mother Box and the Infinity Stones, both grant crazy abilities to their user. The Mother Box does better in this aspect since it grants way more abilities to its user than an Infinity Stone. An Infinity Stone merely lends its power to a wielder. The mother Box is just what it sounds like – once she latches on to a host, she will stay by her hosts’ side forever and will everything in her power to protect him or her.
Every Mother Box is a sentient being powered by the Source, the one true God of the DC Universe. The Mother Box scores high in terms of ease of use since the user does not have to do much unlike the wielder of the Infinity Stones, who require some training for the stones to be used properly.
2. Power Source – Infinity Stones
Like we said, every Mother Box is powered by the Source. That is the single most potent energy source in the DC comic book universe. The Infinity Stones are not powered by any energy source. They are the literal embodiment of the several aspects of the universe given a material form.
As a result, whosoever holds the Infinity Stones is actually holding the universe in his grasp and can do whatever he or she wishes. The Mother boxes, on the other hand, are known to be very vulnerable if the connection to their singular energy source, that is, the Source is lost.
3. Analytical Ability – Mother Box
In Justice League, we saw first-hand the power of a Mother Box in anticipating and predicting the future course of events. After Steppenwolf lost the first Invasion of Earth to Earth’s combined forces, the Mother Box decided to stay on Earth and analyze the environment for the perfect time for Steppenwolf to strike again. The Death of Superman and the advent of chaos all over the world was the perfect moment for Steppenwolf to return. The Infinity Stones do not possess such advanced analytical talent since they are not powered by such sophisticated A.I tech like the Mother Boxes.
4. Pure Destructive ability – Infinity Stones
This one’s a no brainer at all. The Infinity Stones have far more destructive potential than DC Comics’ Mother Box. They can bring down planets, stop and rewind time as well as control reality and grant its user limitless energy to harness. Combine the abilities of these stones and you get one hell of a cosmic juggernaut. The Mother Boxes are also capable of creating chaos on an unprecedented scale but not as far-reaching as the Infinity Stones.
5. Safety of Use – Mother Box
The point of a Weapon of Mass Destruction is to deter the enemy from taking another step sin fear that that WMD will be used again by the enemy. That is the rule of détente. But when it comes to the Infinity Gauntlet, you can be pretty sure that the rule of détente can be flushed down the toilet.
What exactly is the use of a WMD if it kills you or gives you terribly, life-threatening side effects only after using it just one?!?! If you are not strong enough, the Infinity Stones could even kill you in a split second. The mother Boxes could be used by anyone. Even human beings like Batman have used the Mother Box and lived to tell the tale.
6. The practicality of Use – Mother Box
To use the Infinity Stones, you need to not just be strong enough to withstand the recoil. The practicality factor is also a big issue. The fact that using an Infinity Stone is like holding a rock in the middle of a battle must be taken into consideration. The Infinity Gauntlet is also very huge and has the disadvantage of being stolen or snatched away very easily. In DC Comics, the Mother Boxes are not only easy to use but are also more practical in nature. They come in various shapes and sizes and could easily fit in and be used as a warrior’s weapon.
7. Altering Reality – Infinity Stones
It is not like the Mother Boxes cannot restructure reality. They can control the minds of opponents, control the emotions of people and even manipulate them, heal their hosts and create impenetrable force fields. But when it comes to altering reality, the Mother Boxes have to adhere to certain ground rules and there is a certain limit to which they could do it. The Infinity Stones have no such boundaries. The Reality Stone can change logic and reason within the universe on the go, making impossible stuff look real and possible events look improbable.
8. Teleportation – Mother Box
The Space Stone allows its wielder to traverse great distances in a matter of seconds and control the forces of gravity. Using its power, it can grant its wielder the ability to teleport. In the DC Universe, the ability of teleportation granted by the Mother Box is called a Boom Tube, and that may not be enough to control gravitational forces but it allows instantaneous transportation to anywhere in the universe, just like the Space Stone.
But here’s the thing – to use the Space Stone requires strength and skill. Not everyone can use teleportation ability. Apart from that, there is also the fact that it is not as accurate. The Mother Box allows for teleportation with navigation backed by a freaking cosmic supercomputer. There is no way an Infinity Stone could beat that.
9. Ability to grant Super Powers – Mother Box
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, two individuals got their powers from being exposed to an Infinity Stone – Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The way in which they got their powers is never mentioned but if we take an educated guess, we believe that the Maximoff siblings had to go through several rounds of experimentation by Hydra to actually gain superpowers.
The Mother Box does not have such restrictions. All it took was one human scientist to activate the alien object and it not only healed Victor Stone but even gave him superpowers that were ten times more interesting and powerful than the Maximoff twins’. The ability to grant superpowers is like a piece of cake for the Mother Box.
10. Milestones Achieved – Infinity Stones
There are so many down-right impossible and miraculous achievements and milestones that the Infinity Stones has achieved that it is almost impossible to jot down a few and leave the rest. There is the Snap and the fact that Thanos pulled down an entire moon and made it crash into another planet. The comics have several other interesting feats that are just impossible to explain. The DC Comics’ counterpart for the Infinity Stones is the Anti-Life Equation, not the Mother Box. The ALS allows the wielder to prove that life is virtually meaningless and then control every sentient being that gets exposed to the sad reality to become a mindless slave. The mother Boxes do not have any noticeable feats at their disposal and so the Infinity Stones take this one fair and square.
