Future MCU Movies:
Avengers: Endgame is done, and Spider-Man: Far From Home is just about to arrive, so we could expect a great conclusion for Phase 3. But what’s going to happen after that? Avengers: Endgame tied a lot of dangling story threads, but it also brought in some new ones. But obviously, all the MCU setups haven’t been completed just yet. There are still a bunch of unanswered questions left in this shared Universe and those have to be answered in Phase 4, or perhaps Spider-Man: Far From Home. Here are all those:
Earthquake under the Sea?
So far, Marvel has handled Namor by not handling him at all, just as Okoye suggested in Avengers: Endgame. But that indeed was a Namor reference that we saw in Endgame. Ever since we’ve seen the first Black Panther movie, we’ve been rooting to see Wakanda vs Atlantis in the second one. Kevin Feige addressed it last year that we will see Namor soon enough. So, all signs point to the fact that Black Panther 2 will finally answer the questions posed by Iron Man 2 and Avengers: Endgame. Yes, Atlantis in under the Atlantic Ocean.
Brian Braddock aka Captain Britain?
During the 1970s montage in Endgame, we see a “Blink and you’ll miss” tease for Brian Braddock aka Captain Britain. Peggy Carter is handed a file and she says “Braddock hasn’t checked in. I’m not a meteorologist and it’s not lightning.” Braddock here most probably refers to Brian Braddock who goes on to become Captain Britain. Perhaps this is a tease of his entry.
There has been a rumor that Guy Ritchie will helm a Captain Britain and Black Knight project. Black Knight is even being looked upon as a future member of the Avengers. So perhaps their team up film is the answer that we were looking for. The directors of Avengers: Endgame were asked about the Captain Britain reference, and here’s what Joe Russo laughingly said:
“I think we uh, maybe… or maybe it’s just a guy named Braddock.”
Who Bought the Avengers Tower?
Well, since the Avengers tower was bought in a Spider-Man movie, we can bet on the fact that this character will surely be related to Spider-Man. The person who bought the tower has to be super rich, and perhaps the only name rich enough that comes to our mind is Norman Osborn.
Spider-Man: Far From Home may answer this question, but perhaps the right question to ask is that which alter ego will Osborn take on. He will gather the Sinister Six for the third Spider-Man movie, but he will also be leading the Dark Avengers in the future. So will it be the Green Goblin or Iron Patriot? Let’s see.
What Happened in Budapest?
“You and I remember Budapest very differently,” “We’re a long way from Budapest.” This Budapest conundrum has been teasing us for more than 7 years now and we can only imagine that Endgame brought it back only to set up the solo Black Widow movie. perhaps it will finally tell us what really happened in Budapest, and how was Clint Barton involved in the story.
The future of Harley Keener!
Avengers: Endgame brought back a familiar face, connecting Endgame from Iron Man 3 as we saw Harley Keener (Ty Simpkins) also mourning the death of Tony Stark. This probably means that he could actually have a future in the MCU but we’ve all been asking what it could be. Avengers: Endgame did set up a Young Avengers movie, and Simpkins has revealed that he would love to play Iron Lad. So, perhaps that’s the answer we will be getting in an upcoming movie.
Nova’s Origin
Xandar was destroyed and no one batted an eye. We though that Avengers: Endgame would lead us back to it, but it did not. Although Nova was supposed to be in Infinity War earlier. The writers revealed Thanos would have completely obliterated the entire Nova Corps who were trying to protect the Power Stone, except leaving one soldier alive, Richard Rider. He would then have taken all the power of the Nova Corps for himself, being the only one alive. And then he’d do the job that the Hulk was put in for.
This would have been his origin. But since Nova wasn’t in Infinity War & Endgame, and MCU is developing a Nova movie, we could only imagine that his roots are going to be laid down in Infinity War. Perhaps Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could give him a cameo and the solo Nova movie could solve all our queries. Let’s see.
Loki’s Mischief?
The Russos have confirmed that Loki survived as he created an Alternate branched timeline. So people have been asking the real significance of him escaping with the Tesseract. Well, we can be sure of the fact that he will certainly return in an upcoming solo series for Disney+ and answer all the questions for us.
Where is Adam Warlock?
In MCU years, it has been almost 9 years since we’ve had that Adam Warlock tease in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Ayesha’s Cocoon should have hatched in these past 9 years so where has the Golden being been all this time. Endgame’s 5 year time jump could cause a lot of problems if not handled properly. So, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should come up with suitable answers to solve the Warlock problem because Ayesha wanted immediate revenge and the Guardians were totally fine when we saw them in Avengers: Infinity War.
How Far from Home is Miles?
Spider-Man: Homecoming teased Aaron Davis being the uncle of Miles Morales. So the question that we have is that will Spider-Man: Far From Home introduce Miles Morales. Even if it does, will he be from the same Earth as Peter Parker is, or will it be a Multiverse thing? Let’s wait and watch!
Where Has Captain Marvel been?
Captain Marvel 2 needs to solve not 1 but 2 Outer space questions. Ever since Captain Marvel left earth in 1995, she only came back in 2018 and 2023. The only answer that we’ve got for her whereabouts is that she has been saving other planets in the Galaxy. So, we can expect the Captain Marvel sequel to be set fully in space and answer where she was in between Captain Marvel and Infinity War, and what did she do during the 5 year time jump.
The 10 Rings?
One of the long lost setups that hasn’t been paid off yet is the Real Mandarin and his significance in the MCU. Marvel One Shot – All Hail the King revealed that the REAL Mandarin is still out there in the MCU, and he isn’t happy that his identity was taken up by someone else. The first Ant-Man movie proved that the 10 Rings are in fact active and we could still get to see their leader. So the question that arises is that when can that happen? Iron Man is done, so who could the Mandarin be pit against? Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Marvel has plans for the REAL Mandarin, so we could assume that he’d be the main villain in Shang Chi. Let’s wait and watch.
What’s going on with the Leader and Abomination?
We’ve only seen General Thunderbolt Ross return from The Incredible Hulk and none of the other characters from the film have made their come back. It has been so long that people have been asking the whereabouts of the Leader and Abomination. Marvel has been quiet on that subject but we can only assume that Ross returned for a reason. A recent leak confirmed the fact that Marvel is planning a Thunderbolts movie and the likes of Abomination, Red Hulk, Zemo, Justin Hamme & Ghost will team up to take on the big-headed Leader!
