Well, we have seen a lot of times that the sentiments of a lot of religions and people get hurt when certain things are depicted in films, books, poetry, or TV shows. The most common and easy example for understanding this issue is the portrayal of Muslims in a bad light as we have seen it a lot of times.

But, this time it is about another religion as it is about Hindus this time and it has been reported that a Hindu cleric wants Marvel Entertainment to apologize as soon as possible for the mistake they’ve done as in the comic Hinduism has been called as a false religion.

So, the matter of the whole story has been reported by none other than The Hollywood Reporter that Rajan Zed is the person who pointed towards the destruction of Hindu Temples in the relaunched version of the Uncanny X-Men, as we can see the destruction of some temples including one famous temple, Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple.

The temple is really famous and also one of the most popular temples in India as it is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The temple was built in an indigenous style of Kerala and it has a mixture of Tamil style in its architecture as well.

Rajan statement clearly shows the pain he felt after seeing the destruction of Hindu Temples in the comics as he stated,

“It was very hurtful to the Hindu community because a popular platform like Marvel labeled a sacred and highly revered Hindu temple as a fake house of worship. Comics publishers should be more sensitive while handling faith related subjects; as these being a powerful medium; left a lasting impact on the unsuspecting minds of highly impressionable children, teens, and other young people.”

Well, in the comics we have seen that the character with the name ‘X-Man’ is the one who is very unstable and also kind of mentally ill. Some people can also call it an alternate version of none other than Cable. The character believes that he is the God of the universe. Also, there’s another character by the name of Apocalypse in the comics.

Fans of Marvel Comics will definitely know the name Apocalypse as he is one of the most powerful and famous villains of Marvel Comics and is the villain in the comics here also who is responsible for all this controversy as he stated in the comics that, “Mankind is being led down the wrong path by religious leaders”.

Marvel X-Men ComicSo, this is the reason why this Hindu priest wants Marvel Entertainment to apologize in front of the whole world for the portrayal of Hinduism in a bad manner as calling their gods and idols ‘False Gods’ has hurt the sentiments of Hindus deeply.

Marvel X-Men Comic

Well, we have to see what kind of apology Marvel Entertainment will issue in regard of this controversy but we have to say that there are chances that other religions will jump into this as the villain in the comics has spoken evil about all the religions in the world.

So, this could turn out to be a big problem for Marvel. But, this is what ‘Religion’ is all about and people are really sensitive about it nowadays. There can be a debate on this topic and there will be people who’ll say this is quite childish but there will be some who’ll be hurt by this thing.

So, this is the reason why we really want to know about your views on this story. Should Marvel Entertainment apologize to the Hindus or is this just too much exaggeration by this person named Rajan? Do tell us about your take in the comments section down below.
