Gionee Marathon M5 Launched with 6,020mAh Battery

At an event in China, the manufacturer, Gionee introduced the latest addition to its Marathon series of smartphones. We related Marathon smartphones to their superb battery life, just like the Gionee Marathon M3 which flaunted its 5,000mAh battery. Just like every other brand in the market, Gionee to shared the same vision of improving with time – so hence, they introduced the Gionee Marathon M5 today. The Gionee Marathon M5 not only comes with a stunning 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, but is sourced by a massive 6,020mAh battery.

Gionee’s key focus has always been on the design and looks of the smartphone. And therefore, they have restricted the thickness of the Marathon M5 to 8.5mm which is absolutely amazing considering that it houses a 6,000+ mAh battery inside. Talking logically, the previous statement isn’t really possible – but Gionee has made it possible by placing two 3,010mAh batteries inside, rather than a single block of battery. Gionee has played intelligently with the hardware and in addition to this, the company also claims that the M5 will give you a standby time of over 62 hours on 5% of battery.

On the specifications front, the Gionee Marathon M5 sports a 5.5-inch HD display, with a 1280 x 720 resolution. The Gionee Marathon M5 runs on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 Ghz and comes with 2GB of RAM. The Android Lollipop (Android 5.1) based smartphone can be expanded upto 64GB of storage, along with the 16GB of internal memory. Connectivity options that come along with this device includes WiFi, 3G connectivity, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0. The dual-sim smartphone offer users a 13MP rear camera, along with a LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The phone’s performance is sourced by a massive 6,020 mAh battery.
