Once Again, Ben Affleck Confirms His Exit As Batman With The Flash

He's being written out for good! :(

Batman is definitely one of the most important comic book characters that have been adapted to the screen. It is the only character that has a certain realism attached to it and it is not easy for the character to be brought to screen. Each rendition of Batman has gotten a certain amount of fandom attached to it and that only helps the narrative of the character. Even Batfleck has become a significant adaptation even though it didn’t get a lot of chance to appear. Affleck recently revealed that his favorite Batman lines ever spoken were in The Flash. Big Ben Affleck also confirms his exit after the movie.

Ben Affleck’s Batman

Ben Affleck did not get much time to properly establish his rendition of Batman in the DC Extended Universe. The character did not get a solo project even though his movies are riddled with details regarding his arc. There was a lot of criticism when it was found that he will be taking on the role but that has always been the case. But his very appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice ensured that he is an interesting rendition of the character. Ben Affleck was able to give us a completely different take on the character and there was much excitement for the actors to take on the role going ahead in the DCEU.

There were plans for a solo Batman movie featuring Batfleck and the actor was even supposed to direct it. But these plans were dropped due to some reasons and that led to the new Batman project featuring Robert Pattinson in the role. Ben Affleck retired from the character and this led to much confusion regarding the status of the character in the DCEU. But the actor returned for the character in the upcoming The Flash movie and there is added excitement to this because Michael Keaton would also be seen reprising his Batman in the movie.

Affleck’s Favorite Batman Scene In The Flash

Ben Affleck Confirms His Exit

In a recent interview with The Herald Sun, Ben Affleck talked about his return to the role of Batman for one final time. The actor was actually excited about the fans to witness his appearance in The Flash. He said:

I have never said this — this is hot off the presses — but maybe my favorite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done, were in the Flash movie. I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting — different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character. Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn’t work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, ‘Wow — I think I have finally figured it out.’

Affleck also confirmed that this would be his last appearance in the role of the caped crusader. He was last seen taking on the role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League for doing the additional photography for the character. The actor said that that time and the time he spent on the set of The Flash was a really nice finish on my experience with that character.

Ben Affleck Confirms His Exit

We got to see a glimpse of The Flash during the DC FanDome event last year and it was a clear indication of what we might expect to see. A particular moment from the teaser clearly indicated that Batfleck might face his end here. There are various theories surrounding Michael Keaton’s take on the mantle of Batman in the DCEU. This might actually be true as the actor is also set to reprise his role in the upcoming Batgirl film. There is a possibility that the very particular moment that he was talking about could be the epic moment from Flashpoint Paradox where Flash returns to Batman.

The Flash will be released in theaters worldwide on November 4, 2022.
