There Might Be A Big Batman Problem In The Flash

Fans of the DC Extended Universe got the biggest treat when they got the first look into the upcoming The Flash film. The movie has been under development for quite a long time now and it is intended to be one of the most interesting additions to the movies based on DC characters. Flash and Cyborg were scheduled to get their solo ventures quite early but these plans were delayed over the years even though these characters played essential roles in all DCEU projects. The sneak peeks that we got for the movie have given way to a lot of questions regarding the project. Especially surrounding the two Batman’s that the movie will feature and probably play a massive role in the movie. There seems to be a Batman problem in The Flash considering that the caped crusader will be an essential part of its narrative.

The Flash

The Flash will see Ben Affleck’s Batman reunite with Ezra Miller’s Flash in a DCEU project. Not only that we will also get to see two Batman’s set two decades apart in the same project. We don’t know yet if we will get to see both of them in the same scene together but let’s not kill hopes of that happening yet. It is rather interesting to imagine how the movie will bring the two Caped Crusaders together in the movie considering both belong to completely different renditions of Gotham and the entire world around Batman.

Ben Affleck had actually decided to leave the franchise and it seems that the actor will return to the role again. We don’t know if it will be his last time but considering Michael Keaton made a comeback for the role anything is up for a chance. The sneak-peek is filled with easter eggs and has definitely left fans to think about multiple things. Earlier fans were wondering if Keaton will put on his suit for Batman. It seems that we can be sure that he will indeed be putting on his iconic cowl according to the trailer.

Michael Keaton’s Batman

We don’t have any idea to what effect the Batman’s of both Affleck and Keaton is going to be a part of the project. According to what we saw in the trailer, Barry Allen finds himself in the Tim Burton Batman universe where he gets to meet Keaton’s Batman. There was no clear suggestion on how Barry was able to do this but considering the Scarlet Speedster has time-traveling capabilities we can be sure that there is a fair chance of this happening in the DCEU. The trailer focuses majorly on Keaton’s Batman as we get to see Barry explore both the Wayne Manor and the Batcave. Even the revelation of the 1989 Batmobile seems like a very important moment the way it was had a buildup in the trailer itself. This puts the problem of the Caped Crusader’s return as the highlight of the film at a time when the movie is itself Flash’s first solo venture.

Michael Keaton has definitely had a major impact amongst fans with his major impact as the main villain of the Vulture in Spider-Man’s first solo venture in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans are definitely hyped up to see the actor re-assume his role as the Bat after 20 years. DC definitely invested in the recent popularity the actor has had to make sure they can continue with Michael Keaton’s involvement in the superhero world. It would be interesting to see what arc the character is given in the movie considering they won’t simply rely on nostalgia surrounding the character. The trailer gives us a hint that the character will definitely have a major role in the story even though we can’t actually be sure how prominent the role will actually be.

Batman Problem In The Flash

The principal photography for The Flash recently wrapped up and this gives Andy Muschietti, the director, enough to put it all together. There is a major chance that we will see the final outcome look quite different from the things that we had gotten to see in the first sneak peek.

The Flash will be released on November 4, 2022. Ezra Miller reprises his role as Barry Allen from Justice Leauge joined alongside Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Ron Livingston replacing Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, Sasha Calle debuting as Supergirl, and the return of Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as their versions of Batman.

The rest of DC’s upcoming slate includes The Batman, which arrives on March 4, 2022, Black Adam on July 29, 2022, Aquaman 2 on December 16, 2022, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit theatres on June 2, 2023. DC also has films like a Superman Reboot, Black Canary, Batgirl, Static Shock, Green Lantern Corps. and Blue Beetle under development. But those films are undated till now.
