First Look At Moon Knight In Disney+ Series Leaked

MCU is having massive numbers of work coming out in the next few years with works ranging from movies to tv shows. A lot of Marvel characters are going to make their appearance on the small screen through the Disney+ shows. Amongst these, one of the most exciting projects is the mini-series on the character of Moon Knight. These projects have been so hush-hush that the recently leaked first look at Moon Knight has made people and fans go crazy.

Who is Moon Knight?

The character of Moon Knight first made its debut in the Marvel comics in the 1975 Issue#32 of Werewolf by Night.  It was created by Dough Moench and artist Don Perlin. The human alter-ego of Moon Knight, Marc Spector is a former boxer, Marine, CIA operative, and mercenary. He is betrayed by the person who employs him and left for dead until he is saved by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu in exchange for becoming his avatar on Earth. This results in Spector getting superhuman abilities and becoming the crime fighter, Moon Knight.

Amidst all the news, a look from the Moon Knight of the titular character has been leaked online. It’s not yet confirmed if that is entirely legitimate but it’s enough to keep us excited for the show. The internet has gone wild with this leaked look and already created copies and various versions based on the costume in the look. As it can be seen, the leaked picture is marked “Property of Marvel”, even though some of the other versions of the photo have cropped that out.

About the project

First Look At Moon Knight

Moon Knight was a project that was under development and had plans for a long time. There was an initial plan for a series quite early in the MCU. There was even a pitch for a movie adaptation by the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, which was dropped by him for not being able to commit due to lack of time. Disney announced the series, Moon Knight, first in 2019. Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac has been rumored to be in the running for the titular role since October 2020, when it was reported by Variety that he was in talks to join the project. Due to the Covid-91 related delays, the production started in Aprile and is still ongoing.

Ethan Hawke joins the project

Another, massive announcement regarding the series was that Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke has joined the project. Since the project is still under development, not many details are revealed regarding the character he will be portraying yet. But the actor did mention, during an interview, how he got to be a part of the show. Apparently, Oscar Isaac was the reason he joined the MCU.

Here’s what he had to say about it:

“Well, I heard about it from Oscar Isaac, who lives like, you know, three blocks down the street from me in Brooklyn. I was at a coffee shop. He came up to me, he’s like, ‘Hey, I really liked The Good Lord Bird.’ I was like ‘Hey, cool, I really like your work. You’re amazing.’ He’s like, ‘Hey, want to be in the Moon Knight with me?’ I was like, yeah. So, it happened the right way, you know?”

That may be one part of the story, there are reports that Hawke had to go through multiple meetings with the Marvel executives before joining the project. This makes the anticipation for the show even greater considering Isaac would be portraying the protagonist while at the same time Hawke is supposedly playing the yet to be known villain of the series. It would be a thrill to watch these stars share some scenes with each other.

First Look At Moon Knight Villain Played By Ethan Hawke

Set photos leaked earlier also gave us a glance at Ethan Hawke’s character from the series. Fans have suggested that Hawke’s look is reminiscent of Dracula, which may mean that the popular iconic vampire is coming to MCU. Ethan Hawke suggested that his character is inspired by the infamous cult leader David Koresh, who played a central role in the Waco massacre. If fans are right about their suggestion then this might mean that this might lead to a connection with another Marvel project under development i.e. Mahershala Ali’s Blade.
