8 Keanu Reeves Cameos That Automatically Made The Project Better

We have seen Keanu Reeves playing a variety of roles throughout his career. The actor initially delivered a series of slops when he started but his good time began with The Devil’s Advocate released in 1997. He then appeared in many other films and is currently one of the popular Hollywood stars. There have been a few films that received a positive as well as negative reception from critics and audiences. But Keanu Reeves has appeared in a few of those movies and his appearance made the film more interesting to watch. Here are some Keanu Reeves cameos that certainly made the projects better.

Special Keanu Reeves Cameos

1. Always Be My Maybe

The romantic comedy film Always Be My Maybe was released in 2019 on Netflix with Ali Wong and Randall Park in the lead roles. It received a positive reception. In one of the scenes, Keanu Reeves made an unexpected appearance and played the role of a primo Hollywood beta hipster version of himself. He made fun of himself. But his comedy timing in the apartment scene grabbed the attention. Ali Wong said that most of the chaos in the scene was Keanu just doing his thing.

2. Toy Story 4

Keanu Reeves Cameos

The fourth installment of the Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 4 was an instant hit at the box office. It featured the voiceovers of many actors and the characters were fan favorites. A lot of new characters were introduced but the best one here was Duke Caboom voiced by Keanu Reeves. He left a pop-cultural impact. He was a retired Canadian stuntman. His story about his kid regime is one of the funniest vignettes in the history of the franchise. Keanu delivered his voice with complete sincerity. The press tour for the film was a gift of Keanu’s content and was the first time Keanu heard that he was the entire internet’s boyfriend.

3. Keanu

2016 buddy action comedy film Keanu received a positive reception from everyone around the world. The film’s title was based on a cat whose name was Keanu in the film. Its plot gently mirrors John Wick’s very sensitive dog situation is already the inception of Keanu references but they went and got the man himself and voice the little kitty in a feverish trip sequence. He gives call-outs to the mantra of Bill and Ted’s excellent adventure and the philosophy of the Matrix dialing up the Keanu lore within Keanu Verse even more. It is a short cameo where he just says ‘Meow!’ and this was sufficient at that time.

4. Between Two Ferns: The Movie

2019’s Between Two Ferns: The Movie was a spin-off of the web series of the same name. The inclusion of celebrities adds strange satirical energy but then Zack and his guests end up trading some less than gentle barbs. Here, even Keanu Reeves made an appearance and the appearance was similar to Always Be My Maybe. But the best part is the long-documented truth that Keanu is the loveliest man alive. Zach Galifianakis references some age-old criticisms about Keanu. Keanu then hits back a taste of vindication for a long time Keanu fans and even talks about the vampire rumors.

5. The Spongebob Movie

Directed by Tim Hill, The Spongebob Movie was based on an animated television series of the same name. Tim Hill says that Keanu was always the inspiration for Sage of the Sage Tumbleweed and he was thinking of Keanu as he wrote and had even drawn Keanu into the storyboarding before the actor agreed. He did the same in the case of Snoop Dogg before the rapper agreed to play the role of The Gambler in the film. The film received a positive reception for the animation and loyalty to the series.

6. Freaked

Keanu Reeves Cameos

Directed by Alex Winter and Tom Stern, 1993’s Freaked played on a few screens at the time of release. But it later became a cult classic. Keanu Reeves had an uncredited appearance in the film as Ortiz the Dog Boy. It was kind of a cameo and supporting role. Finest prosthetics were applied on Reeves to make him look like a Dog Boy. This was considered as the best thing a low budget passion project can afford to make an actor look like a Dog Boy.

7. Neon Demon

2016’s Neon Demon was involved in a few controversies for some reasons. The film also received mixed reviews from critics and grossed less than its budget. Keanu did a cameo appearance opposite Elle Fanning. He was playing the role of Elle’s character Jesse’s landlord who is less than happy when a big cat gets into Fanning’s squalid apartment. But the best part was where he shows up as little more than a silhouette and opens a door and says “Relax, okay?” He doesn’t call the cops that add to his general feeling of not quite trustworthy just like the other characters in the film.

8. Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 falls under the list of the most highly anticipated games. Most of the details related to the film were kept a secret from the public. Keanu Reeves made an unexpected appearance at the E3 but there was no confirmation on the role he would play. But fans were delighted when they got to know that would be sharing brain-space with a hostile Keanu. This proves the saying that it is better to be bullied by a mean Keanu in your mind than to have ever loved Keanu at all.
