10 Things MCU Fans Wish To See In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

In terms of MCU movies, a lot of speculations are done before the release. MCU movies have a habit of keeping certain plot lines open for future installments. It can be in the form of a character or certain events. The same now applies to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The film was delayed for certain reasons and now it is finally arriving in theaters in 2023. Now a lot of theories are being put up along with the characters that MCU fans might get to see in the upcoming installment of the franchise. Now let’s have a look at all the speculations.

Things We Want To See In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

1. A whole new host of songs

We all remember these lines – “I can’t stop this feeling, deep inside of me.” The best thing about the Guardians movies is the soundtracks. They usually feature the best hits from the 1960s and 70s giving them a retro feel and establish a phenomenal character building for Star-Lord. Now the third film will also follow this track since music is an important part of its world. But MCU fans are expecting that the film will bring some changes in the soundtrack and keeping the same spirit alive. The film can bring 80s superhits like Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith with a different but nostalgic sound.

2. The backstory of Rocket

Rocket is a character that has been loved in the Guardians franchise. In the first film, he ranted about how it feels to be a genetic creation. Talking raccoons are definitely not something that is created by nature. Now there have been rumors that Rocket’s creator will make his way into the upcoming sequel. The character will be played by Mark Hamill. Now the backstory of Rocket can add some thrill and more excitement to the pacing of the movie. Moreover, it is important to add some elements to make the third sequel a hit when the first two have been loved by the audience and critics.

3. Adam Warlock

We all remember Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 teasing Adam Warlock with a gun. The character is one of the powerful creations in Marvel Comics and his overwhelming powers had led him to play an important role in the comic book Infinity Saga. For now, we can expect that the character could make his MCU debut with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It is impossible that James Gunn will easily let go of the post-credits scene of the previous film. So there is a chance that Adam Warlock might be the villain. The Guardians had a troubled past with its antagonists, so Adam Warlock can be a good choice. He is not a villain but has the potential to be a tough challenge for the Guardians.

4. Tension between Thor and Star-Lord (That isn’t just bickering)

MCU has a way of implementing comedy in its films. It is usually indirect and comes suddenly out of nowhere. There are a lot of good examples to be mentioned in this context. Recently, it was also seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now there is a possibility that it might happen between Thor and Star-Lord. The characters were seen clashing on Avengers: Infinity War. But the insecurity was more from the side of Star-Lord when Thor put his hand on Gamora. Star-Lord even tried to prove himself stronger than Thor by trying to imitate Thor’s voice. Now the clash might continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

5. The Grandmaster

The acting skills of Jeff Goldblum have always attracted the audience. He played the role of Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok. He was seen as a cruel ruler this time. His story did not get a clear ending. For now, the character is making his way to Thor: Love and Thunder scheduled to release in 2022. But he also might appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The character is perfect for the world created by James Gunn. His goofy comedy is something that can easily impress the MCU fans. Now we have to wait and see how he manages with the team and the problems it brings for Thor would cause some exciting and dynamic shifts in the group.

6. The MCU’s next big bad

Thanos was a villain that scared the hell out of all of us. He was so powerful that he even managed to defeat the Avengers at one point in time. Now the next villain taking on the place of Thanos would be Kang the Conqueror. Now this news is yet to be confirmed. But one thing I must mention here that the villain will need some more screen time in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Thanos and his intentions were revealed properly in Avengers: Infinity War but the Guardians have known him more. A similar approach can be used for the next villain. Now reports say that Kang the Conqueror will make his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but considering the kind of villain he is, he should get a chance to fight with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

7. More Howard the Duck

Howard the Duck is an absurd and goofy character in the Marvel Universe. The world of the Guardians is a perfect place for Howard. The character is in a position where he could expand. Those who are not familiar with comic books can also enjoy his big-screen appearance. Also, the casting of Seth Green would give him a cynical but boyish charm that could make him hilarious. There is no need to make him an important character but it is time to give the character some dialogue. MCU fans are not asking him to join the Guardians but they wish to see him spread his wings and fly.

8. A Flash Gordon cameo

Flash Gordon’s world is a wild and cheesy ride. Peter Quill must have seen him in his youth. It is a reference that could go over a few people’s heads. But it can be thematically right and make for an outstanding ride for those who spot it. Flash Gordon is a 1980 cult classic space opera film and it is based on the comic strip of the same name. The titular hero is an American football player and he gets sucked into an intergalactic battle to save the Earth from Ming the Merciless. In order to make this cameo, there can be a brief appearance from Sam Jones or they can run into a recast version of the titular character during their travels.

9. Drax and Mantis, a blooming friendship

Mantis was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The character’s innocence and loveable personality were liked by the MCU fans. But she got better after her blossoming friendship with Drax. The pairing was perfect since Drax had a mean-spirited sense of humor and lack of subtlety and Mantis had a gullible and easily confused mind. Now the third part of the franchise needs to keep this thing going. It can bring balance to the whole group and allows a lot of development. Drax might look at Mantis like a weird creature. She can slowly become more significant for Drax and there can also be some good emotional connection between the two characters.

10. Backlash from Endgame

Infinity Saga’s events had a substantial effect on Earth. All the Marvel projects after Avengers: Endgame had paid reference to the huge ramifications by talking about character death and the impact of the snap. But we don’t know how Endgame damaged the galaxy. Now Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 can be the best way to explore them. Now a few issues will arise between the Guardians. The return of Gamora’s earlier variant will cause problems for Star-Lord. The characters traveling to new planets and solar systems can be the best way to show how they are dealing with the return of the people.

These are the things that we want to see in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3.
