The Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 had a very bad impact on the film industry. Production of various films had to be stopped and the release dates had to be postponed. But the horrors are finally over. The pandemic changed Hollywood’s theatrical layout with a few films going for a streaming release and others going directly to PVOD. A vaccine has been produced and people are now expecting things to get back to normal. A few delayed movies are hitting the screens this year. Here are the 10 most anticipated action movies of 2021.

1. Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to 1986’s Top Gun. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski. It features Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer. The film is scheduled to release on November 19, 2021.

2. Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise is a fantasy adventure film. It is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. It is based on Walt Disney’s theme park attraction of the same name. It features Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti. Jungle Cruise is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 30, 2021.

3. F9 (Fast & Furious 9)

F9 or Fast & Furious 9 is the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise. Justin Lin has returned to direct the film after helming Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6. It features Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. The film is scheduled to release on June 25, 2021.

4. No Time to Die

No Time to Die is the 25th installment in the James Bond film franchise. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the film features Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, and Ralph Fiennes in the lead roles. It is scheduled to release on September 30, 2021. The film will mark Daniel Craig’s last appearance as James Bond.

Black Widow is the 24th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first solo film of the lead character. The film is directed by Cate Shortland. It stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz in the lead roles. Black Widow is scheduled to release theatrically and through Disney+ with Premier Access on July 9, 2021.

6. The King’s Man

The King’s Man is the third installment in the Kingsman film series. It is a prequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The King’s Man is directed by Matthew Vaughn. It features Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance in the lead roles. The film is scheduled to release on December 22, 2021.

7. Free Guy

This sci-fi action comedy film has been directed by Shawn Levy. It features Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Corner, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi in the lead roles. Free Guy will be released theatrically in Real D 3D and IMAX 3D on August 13, 2021.

9. Snake Eyes

Snake Eyes is a spin-off of the G.I. Joe film series. It is directed by Robert Schwentke. The lead role of Snake Eyes is being played by Henry Golding, replacing Ray Park. 10. Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard

Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is a sequel to 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes. It features Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L.
