Ryan Reynolds Addresses Rumors About Playing Green Lantern In Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Green Lantern In Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will arrive on HBO Max next year. The visionary director is currently working hard trying to complete the movie. He has promised us a trailer for his version of the movie on August 22 at the DC FanDome event. And we’d find out other details of his 4 hour Justice League cut. These details will include the revelation of whether this project is a film or an episodic series, its title, and possibly its release date as well. About the story details, they will probably be revealed with the teaser. What people really want to know more about is the role of heroes like Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern in the film. And, that’s especially after the rumors of Ryan Reynolds playing Green Lantern in the Snyder Cut.

Ryan Reynolds hated his time as Green Lantern. In fact, Green Lantern nearly killed his career. He wasn’t getting any good films after it. He hated the fact that he had to wear the motion capture suit. He didn’t like the whole experience of being a part of the film, and he even shot himself in Deadpool 2 for having signed the script of Green Lantern. As of now, he likes to pretend that he was never a part of the Green Lantern movie. But despite that, the rumor mill came up with a statement that Reynolds secretly shot his scenes as Green Lantern for Justice League back when Zack Snyder was in charge.

Back in May, Cosmicbook.news reported that Reynolds is actually back as Green Lantern in the Snyder Cut because he was having problems with Marvel regarding Deadpool. Marvel wasn’t giving a solid answer for when the next Deadpool movie would happen, so Reynolds opted to return as Lantern in the Snyder Cut, looking at Green Lantern as his second major superhero character that he could play when Deadpool isn’t happening. Then in June, YouTuber Grace Randolph also tweeted that she has heard this not from one, but 2 different sources.

“Now that I’ve heard it from a second source it seems word is indeed getting out and so I can confirm the #SnyderCut cameo I’ve been teasing is indeed Ryan Reynolds for #GreenLantern!! I’m hearing WB is working on putting the deal together now to make it official!”

People started to believe in this rumor because back in December 2019, Reynolds himself did something interesting when he mentioned the Snyder Cut at Brazil Comic-Con Experience. His comment in the above video came out of nowhere, so it almost seemed that Reynolds was teasing his role as Green Lantern in the Snyder Cut. And now, he has finally addressed this rumor in the typical “Ryan Reynolds fashion.”

Ryan Reynolds Rumors Green Lantern In Zack Snyder's Justice League

“I’m not playing Hawkman in Black Adam. Although I generally do whatever the hell @TheRock tells me to do. I would however love to be in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie and I’ve heard I may already be in it? #SnyderCut”

This gives us a confirmation that he most certainly isn’t playing Hawkman (where’d that come from?). But the interesting part follows right after it. He trolls the Green Lantern rumor we’ve been talking about, and at the same time, he teases that he’d love to be in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Uh, What?! We don’t know what we should make out of it, but it almost seems as if the Green Lantern rumor is actually false. The way Reynolds says that he has heard that he might be in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. If he would’ve been in Justice League then he won’t just have known about it, but he also wouldn’t have spoiled such a massive surprise.

Ryan Reynolds Rumors Green Lantern In Zack Snyder's Justice League

An argument could be made that Reynolds is hyping up the official revelation of this Green Lantern rumor at the DC FanDome event. But, we’d say that it doesn’t seem to be the case. Green Lantern is one of the few surprises from Zack Snyder’s Justice League that isn’t yet known to the general audience. Absolutely no one could spoil it, certainly not the actor who is supposed to be playing Green Lantern. The credibility of Cosmicbook.news has taken a major hit since James Gunn shot down their latest rumor about The Suicide Squad. And Grace Randolph’s scoops aren’t always true either.

So, to conclude things, we’d just say that, well played @VancityReynolds. We know that you’ve left Green Lantern behind.
