Most of us are already familiar with this iconic revenge story thanks to the book, but this movie makes some drastic changes. After Dantes is framed and falsely imprisoned for 13 years by his friend, he plans to exact his revenge. It is a classic revenge movie with a solid cast and it is full of emotions.

I Saw the Devil is a Korean movie that will make your skin crawl right from the start. It has one of the most jarring torture scenes right at the start that would make anyone mad for revenge. The movie is about a Secret Agent who plots an act of a long and torturous revenge on an inhumane serial killer.

Unforgiven is a classic western movie by Clint Eastwood which won 4 Oscars, including Best Picture. This movie is full of amazing characters and it focuses a lot more on the human aspect. Munny, played by Clint Eastwood takes it upon himself to hunt down his friend’s murderer, and he does it most heroically.

John Wick marked Keanu Reeves’ fantastic comeback as an action star. This character has risen to become one of the most loved characters in recent history, and that too in such a short while. All hell breaks loose after an entitled man-child decides to brutally kill a man’s puppy. As it turns out, that man is the legendary assassin Baba Yaga, who has nothing but revenge in his mind now.
#6: Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 (2003 – 2004)
The Kill Bill saga is about a woman called the Bride, who decides to take revenge most violently on his former lover and his gang – The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, who destroyed her life and killed her baby and husband. Both the movies are full of blood and gore, giving us the perfect revenge tale.

Memento is an emotional revenge movie about a man with short-term memory, who sets on a journey to find the monster who killed and violated his wife. Leonard chooses not to give up even after losing everything and his determination to exact revenge upon the perpetrators is commendable. The movie is thought-provoking and awesomely directed by Christopher Nolan himself.

Inglourious Basterds is a movie all about revenge, but its told uniquely, as you would expect from Tarantino. Shosanna and Aldo Raine are both driven by revenge in the movie. Both lost people close to them by the hands of the Nazis and then exact revenge in a different manner but to the best of their abilities.

Quentin Tarantino is a genius when it comes to revenge and his contribution to this theme has been immense. Django Unchained is a fantastic movie about a slave named Django, who ventures on a journey to find and rescue his wife, and exact revenge upon the people who hurt his wife. The movie is full of violence and the blood never stops.
#2: Oldboy (2003)
Oldboy is perhaps the most gruesome and horrific tale of revenge. This movie is not for faint-hearted and if you are offended easily, then don’t bother watching this movie. We can’t reveal much about the revenge aspect without spoiling the movie, but if you’re into this genre then watch this movie in a heartbeat. You will never forget this movie.
