The hype of the film wasn’t much but the trailer eventually rose the bar as the visuals looked very appealing. The movie did a business of $962 million and was the fifth highest grossing movie of 2017 but it was January of 2018 when the movie made a spot in the list and a name for itself.

Box Office Surprises of 2018

We all know that just a big star name doesn’t always work in the film industry nowadays as the audience has become very demanding and aware. The days when they used to go to the theaters only by seeing the name of the director or actor have been long gone. The same thing we saw with Dwayne Johnson as his both movies Rampage and Skyscraper couldn’t match the total of his January blockbuster Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

Box Office Surprises of 2018

This clearly tells us about that star-power isn’t the only thing which viewers get tempted by nowadays. The movie Skyscraper made a sum of $304.1 million worldwide against a budget of $125 million. Whereas, Rampage collected a sum of $428 million against a budget of $140 million. So my boy, star power doesn’t always work!
