Director James Wan Talks About Aquaman Villains And Film’s USP

I still can’t get out of the excitement of the 5 seconds visual we had about the AquaMan in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Already there are a lot of talks going on about new sea characters being developed and the villains that would be seen. Though we don’t know much about the storyline, but we do know that director James Wan would be showing some of the greatest villains in this upcoming movie of AquaMan.

AQUAMAN

At the Los Angeles press day, James Wan spoke at length about the development of AquaMan about the comic book villain. Not disclosing much James did hint by saying –  “Gotta say, one thing I love about the AquaMan world is all the really different, really interesting characters. They are interesting characters, including the villains – I’m not going to tell you which villains I’m going to play with! [laughs] But they’re super cool. They’re very larger than life, but they’re unique”.

James went on to say that the movie would be focused on the uniqueness of the villains that would exist in the movie.

That’s what I’ll speak to – the uniqueness of the AquaMan world. There are so many superhero movies now; I don’t want to make a superhero movie now for the sake of doing it, but there’s something unique to the world of AquaMan. There’s a reason why they’ve never made a movie about this until now because technology has never allowed us to tackle something this complicated. And so because of that, it feels like something different, and that uniqueness is what I’m excited about”.

Though the movies aren’t scheduled to be released until July 2018, buts it’s really exciting to know that James Wan is trying to explore this new concept of focusing on villains and giving it a new twist altogether.
