Captain Marvel is coming out soon enough and we will finally be seeing the strongest MCU hero in action. Kevin Feige revealed that Captain Marvel actually has the strength to move planets, but how strong is she when compared to other big guns like Thor?
The God of Thunder seems to be in his peak physical strength ever since Thor: Ragnarok, and getting Stormbreaker has just boosted his powers and abilities to an all-time high. But who would win in a battle between Thor and Captain Marvel is the question all the fans wanna know. Lucky for us, Brie Larson seems to have an answer for that.
It seems that Captain Marvel may exceed the power levels of Thor in every way possible. She has the ability to absorb energy directed at her, so Thor’s lightning blast will probably make her stronger rather than have a negative effect.
For lifting the Stormbreaker, someone does not need to be worthy, they just need to be strong enough to wield the immensely powerful axe. But this wasn’t the case for Mjolnir as Thor’s mighty hammer Mjolnir has a spell on it that only allows someone worthy of it to lift it. And Brie Larson thinks that she, in fact, is Worthy.
Mjolnir has been lifted by multiple people in the MCU. Thor being worthy is the first contender for that. The almighty Odin can do that. It was Hela’s weapon before Thor so she can do that. Vision, as we saw, lifted it with ease.
Kurse from Thor: The Dark World was able to fend off a direct attack by Mjolnir. Rumors suggest that Captain America will also be able to lift it in Avengers: Endgame. Now, it seems that Captain Marvel has also been added to the list of people who can lift the Mjolnir.
While having a short interview with BuzzFeed Brazil, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson was asked whether she thinks that Captain Marvel can lift Thor’s Hammer, and she straight up nodded with a smile taking no time at all. She was like “Yeah, Definitely”.
Well, we may never find out whether or not Captain Marvel is worthy or whether Larson truly knows what she is talking about, but we do know it for a fact that she is strong enough to wield a powerful weapon like the Stormbreaker or perhaps the Infinity Gauntlet itself.
Although, lifting Mjolnir does not come as a big shock since we have already seen so many people do it, but it would be fun to get a look at Thor’s face if Captain Marvel also ends up lifting the hammer. He’d potentially go all weepy and girly about such a treacherous Hammer.
The new Captain Marvel trailer came out and proved how insanely powerful Captain Marvel really is. We only got a teeny little glimpse at the end, but her strength seems to be massive. She is going to kick some big purple ass in Avengers: Endgame, and adding the Strengths of Thor, Hulk, Doctor Strange and Wanda into the mix would annihilate Thanos even with the Infinity Stones.
Brie Larson revealed the unique personality that Carol is, as she will certainly be unlike a hero we have ever seen. Here’s what she told EW:
“You have this Kree part of her that’s unemotional, that is an amazing fighter and competitive. Then there’s this human part of her that is flawed but is also the thing that she ends up leading by. It’s the thing that gets her in trouble, but it’s also the thing that makes her great. And those two sides warring against each other is what makes her her.”
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck Captain Marvel comes out on March 8. It Stars Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Lee Pace (Ronan), Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva), Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), with Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), and Jude Law (Marv-Vell).
Here’s the official Synopsis:
“The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races,” the synopsis reads. “Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
