Infinity War: Major Villain Originally Had a Whole New Weapon to Fight The Avengers

The heroes were good. The bad guys were better. Avengers: Infinity War showed us how far the heroes of the planet had come from being a measly vigilante task force of the defenders of the Earth. They had truly become the Earth’s mightiest heroes. But the Bad Guys showed them their place.

Avengers Infinity War Thanos and his black Order were quick to ascertain the fact that in a game of chicken, no one comes even close to call their bluff. While it was the Mad Titan that made the heroes squirm and scream at the climax of the movie, his trusted generals of the Black Order were no less a threat.

Avengers Infinity War

The Black Order are Thanos’ most trusted confidantes and they were willing and strong enough to go against the Avengers in a one on one match. But recent news states that one of them was originally planned to have a new weapon for combat, a weapon so powerful that it could have changed the course of the battle altogether. Presenting – Infinity War – Major Villain originally had a whole new weapon to fight the Avengers!!!

Avengers Infinity War Can you guess which Black Order General are we talking about? Is it the torturer of souls Ebony Maw or is it the King of Fighters Corvus Glaive? Is it the Mighty Space Giant Cull Obsidian or is it the Queen of Pain Proxima Midnight?

Avengers Infinity War

It is Cull Obsidian!!! As it turns out, Cull Obsidian aka Black Dwarf as he is originally named as in the comic books had a completely different weapon for combat. The ones we saw in the movie when Cull made his first full-blown appearance was against Team Tony Stark.

Avengers Infinity War

He had in his hands a chain linked hammer that spewed energy from its sides and was made of an unbreakable material. The weapon the concept designers had initially planned for the guy would have made the fight with Iron Man saw much more amazing to look at.

Cull would have got a serious power boost if this thing was sanctioned by the studio for the theatrical cut.

This is the image we are talking about:

The weapon we see in the images is starkly different from the one we saw in the movie. In Avengers: infinity War, Cull Obsidian was seen using a chain link hammer, which is essentially a close quarter weapon.

Avengers Infinity War

It allowed Cull Obsidian to play on his strengths by making him come close to his enemies where he could play his massive strength to his advantage. A pair of blasters would not have allowed that to happen.

Avengers Infinity War

But it would have also ensured that Cull Obsidian could take out Tony from a mile away. Since he now had long-range offense capabilities. Given Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit came loaded with an arsenal of short range, middle range, and long-range weapons, it could have evened out the field for Cull.

Avengers Infinity War

And who knows, the fight could have gotten even more interesting. It would have spelled serious trouble for Tony but it would have been a good fight to watch nevertheless.

Avengers Infinity War

The Black Order is unlikely to return since all of them died gruesome deaths at the hands of the Avengers in Infinity War. But there might be chances that other deceased characters from the previous movies might make a return. Frank Grillo, who played Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War, had this to say about his character’s return to Avengers 4:

Avengers Infinity War

“He [Crossbones] makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie. But it’s a flashback,” Grillo said. “Yeah and I’m allowed to say whatever I want because I’m never doing another Marvel movie.”

Avengers Infinity War

When asked why Grillo wasn’t worried about getting in trouble with Marvel or why he wasn’t going to be in another movie, the actor gave a hilarious and blunt response:

“Because I’m 117 years old.”

Avengers Infinity War

It would be interesting to watch Crossbones and another deceased character played by Tilda Swinton aka the Ancient one, come back to life for one last time in Avengers 4. Who else might be returning? Does the Black Order have a chance of making a comeback? Guess we will have to wait and find out.
