Avengers: Endgame Would Be More About The Bigger Threat Than The Fallen Heroes

Avengers: Infinity War did something we never expected for a Marvel movie to do. We saw Thanos go through the Decimation event and kill off half the population of the entire Universe. It became the biggest thriller event for a comic book movie and the Russos deceived us all right from the beginning. Now because they were so vexing with Avengers: Infinity War, and we’ve noticed what they did with the title of Avengers: Endgame, it is obvious that they are hiding some major aspects about the upcoming film that we don’t have the slightest clue about.

Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is clocking a 3-hour cut as of now, and that is plenty of time to run more than just one story arc within a movie. Sure there are even more characters this time around, but that is where the extra run time comes into play. Avengers: Infinity War made Thanos the biggest villain of all time in just one movie, but we all are forgetting about the fact that he’s not done yet. He managed to pull through the snap with which half the universe ceased to exist, but there is still a much bigger threat lurking in the shadows.

Avengers: Endgame

It is believed that the majority of Avengers: Endgame will be about bringing the dead heroes back but that is not the only thing in play. It won’t all be about defeating Thanos again as there an even greater threat lurking from the shadows. It has been reported that the Avengers will have to take on something even bigger. From this itself, it is believed that the bigger threat may be someone like the Living Tribunal or Eternity, or some other big character, but that is not it.

Avengers: Endgame

Reddit user JoshandMarie gave out a theory claiming that the Russos have been at their game of deception again, and the film will actually be more about fighting the greater threat than bringing back the heroes. Here’s the reasoning he has given us:

“Everyone is convinced the next movie will be all about bringing back the fallen heroes, but I would wager to bet that bringing them back will be half or less of the whole movie.

Avengers: Endgame

 1. Action figures include tons of fallen heroes

If everyone is brought back right at the end, why would kids want to play with the toys of those heroes? If a character like Black Panther simply comes back to THANK and hug everyone– would it really be worth making an action figure of him?

Avengers: Endgame

 2. THE MOVIE IS THREE HOURS LONG

-Need I say more? We thought it’d take Thanos two movies to get the stones– he did it in 1 and did the power stone off camera and the space stone within minutes. Three hours is plenty of time for each of the heroes (at least the ones with action figures) to get their needed screen time, set up the bigger threat or/and set up tons of movies for the future.

Avengers: Endgame

 3. There is a bigger threat.

This leak from one of the toys packaging, “Rocket teams up with a new crew to guard the galaxy from an even greater threat” confirms there is something more threatening in Avengers Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame

When I hear “a bigger threat” I am thinking a bigger threat than the snap, not Thanos himself– though you could argue both- Thanos causing or becoming a threat bigger than the snap would only make sense. If everyone is gone, there is nothing threatening about that. It’s a fact, a done deal. BUT if everyone is brought back AND you add heros that weren’t before (Valkrie, Captain Marvel, Rescue, etc.) then Thanos would need to be stronger than before, a new villain would rise or the affects of the snap would have other cosmic implications that threaten the universe’s very existence (I have another theory down below about that). However it happens, either with Thanos or something else, a “bigger threat” would render greater screen time.”

Avengers: Endgame

Well, there sure is a bigger threat involved and we don’t know anything about it. The Redditor continues to talk about that suggesting that it could either be Thanos himself, or it could be anyone/anything else from the cosmos. We have just seen one movie’s worth of Thanos so we’d wish that it is an even stronger version of him only. After people have been expecting the Avengers to kick his ass this time, but we just cannot underestimate him. He managed to sneak in the Snap when it mattered the most, so, with the Infinity Stones at his disposal, he can still do anything.

Avengers: Endgame

The Redditor then lays down why the threat might not be Thanos and something other than him. His theory continues:

“In this theory he is just an ignorant part in the plan– sure he is a big bad villain, but either way his snap was not the biggest problem, the snap just opened the door for that threat. If there was another threat, then that will be will either be some sort of space-time-continuum rip that threatens everything or an eternal or army outside our realm that was waiting for this realm to weaken to attack. Thanos’ snap only affected OUR universe.. not the multiverse. This would be in the same kind of idea of how Oden’s death brought Hela back– how certain characters death or repositioning could bring other threats back, but on a grander scale. Red Scull is loose, are you sure Ultron is dead (the helmet Peter found in Spider-Man: Homecoming was glowing after all), Dormamu made a deal with Dr. Strange so with strange gone, heck, even he could come back– the stones have a “mind of their own” and a “wisdom” so they could even be a threat– the possibilities are endless– and those enemies or concepts will take up half of the movie or more.

Avengers: Endgame

Unrestricted Thanos OR something else– either way– there is a greater threat than Thanos’ snap and that is the threat the current heros need to get the fallen heros back for. They’re not bringing them back just to have them back for funsies- they are bringing them back because they NEED them.”

Avengers: Endgame

While we don’t get what this greater threat will be, the Redditor seems to be on point as he claims that the Avengers will not just want to bring back the heroes just for the sake of fixing the Universe, but there’s going to be an actual need for all of them to be back and this is what makes things even more exciting.

Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26.
