After his stint as the shadowy antagonist in Mission Impossible: Fallout, we all know Henry Cavill could be the most apt person for this role. But the race just had a third contender. It is Rob Stark from the House Stark of Winterfell!! Believe it or not, Richard Madden aka the late King of the North is in final stages of the race to play the man with the license to kill in the new Bond movie. Richard Madden was surprised to find himself in EON’s list of potential Bond candidates. When asked about Richard Madden as Bond, popular tabloid daily The Sun had this to say:

“It’s seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job. Not only is he on top of Barbara’s list, but she is preparing to offer the role.”

Richard Madden is currently working in a pivotal role as the lead in BBC One’s hit primetime drama Bodyguard. But nothing could be confirmed as of this moment. There were also many rumors circulating all over the internet about Tom Hiddleston going to be a part of the spy franchise as James Bond. After 2016’s The Night Manager saw Hiddleston play a very Bond esque role on screen, many were optimistic enough to see this Marvel Cinematic Universe star play the super spy in the next Bond movie. Suffice it to say, the rumors were all but rumors. Hiddleston has confirmed the rumors to be false.

Madden could be a good candidate for playing James Bond. He has the physique, the on screen aura and most importantly – the thick British accent to go along with and carry the role throughout the movie. If this deal goes through and Madden actually bags the role, beating Elba and Cavill to the race, it will most definitely be an off-set but an agreeable one at that. For the Bond fans and the Game of Thrones’ House Stark fans, there is nothing more satisfying than watching one of their favorite characters being played by the same guy. Let us hope they do not screw it up.
