1. Rocketman
Rocketman is the biopic of Elton John, the music legend. Taron Egerton, who shot to fame by playing the lead character Eggsy in the Kingsman movies, is the one being roped in to play the starry-eyed musician.
2. Serenity
The title of the movie might try and mislead you. It is not science fiction but trust us, if the trailer is any indication, this movie starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will be one gripping tale of suspense and mystery.
3. The Sister Brothers
The Sister Brothers is a comic take on the western genre starring none other than Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role. It is supposed to take a leaf from old western movies like Hostiles.
4. Ad Astra
Ad Astra sees the led character played by Brad Pitt take a trip to Neptune to try and find out the circumstances as to how his father, who was the previous traveller to the lone planet, went missing. The movie is already being said to be Oscar-worthy. But we will reserve our opinions until it releases next January.
5. Mary, Queen of Scots
Margot Robbie plays Queen Elizabeth 1 and Saoirse Ronan plays the titular character in what is being said as the most talked about historical drama movie of the century.
6. Pet Semetary
Pet Semetary is one of Stephen King’s best works and it has already been provided with a movie adaptation. This will be a remake of the classic horror story for a younger audience.
7. The Old Man and the Gun
The Old Man and the Gun tells the story of Robert Redford in a trip of vengeance. The movie also features celebrity hotshots like Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek. Danny Glover is also a part of the movie. This movie will mark Redford’s retirement from the acting arena.
8. Assassination Nation
The plot details for the movie are scarce. But the movie will be a blend of black comedy and action in a real-world setting. Sam Levinson has always been fascinated by these genres and he has delivered more than often. Let us hope he wows us again.
9. The Kid Who Would be King
The Kid Who Would be King comes from the same guy who gave us Attack the Block. Edgar Wright has not found any success lately but he intends to find his mojo at last in this movie which is about a modern-day kid discovering Excalibur and fighting medieval monsters to save the world.
10. Hell Fest
Hell Fest is the typical horror movie. A horror-themed amusement park trip goes awry when the spectators realize that there is a killer on loose blended amongst the park’s attractions itself. Simple and precise – just the way the slasher genre should be.
11. White Boy Rick
The movie tells the real-life story of Rick Wershe Junior, a kid who became an infamous street hustler, drug lord and FBI informant, all before he had even reached the age of 16. Matthew McConaughey is playing a major role in this movie and Richie Merritt will play the lead character.
12. Greyhound
Based on the acclaimed novel The Good Shepherd by CS Forester, Greyhound tells the story of Commander Ernest Krause, played by Tom Hanks, as he leads a charge of 37 ships across the Atlantic as the convoy is being relentlessly pursued by German U-Boats.
13. Bad Times at the El Royale
Bad Times at the El Royale could be a disaster in the making or the greatest masterpiece in the history of 21st-century cinema. The trailer looks promising. The movie is directed by Drew Goddard and features Chris Hemsworth in the lead role.
14. The Curse of La Llorona
The curse of La Llorona has a simple plot – an investigator trying to find out the location of two missing girls realizes that his own family might be the next target of something sinister. What sets it apart is a wonderfully talented cast.
15. The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle
Based on the novel series of the same name, the Voyage of Doctor Dolittle tells the classic story of the animal whisperer and features an ensemble cast featuring Selena Gomez, Tom Holland and the one and only John Cena. The star attraction is RDJ, who plays the lead in the movie.
