After Endgame swept everyone off their feet, Marvel Studios is currently on cloud 9 counting the incredible amount of dollars it is reaping at the Global Box office. The world was not ready for what was to come in Avengers: Endgame. But somehow, we have to make peace with the fact that we have to let go of our idols. Just when we were about to do that, Marvel Studios dropped another bomb. Spider-Man: Far From Home – the next movie in line under the Marvel Cinematic Universe for this year, has revealed the existence of multiple parallel universes aka the Multi-Verse within the MCU. And it was none other than Mysterio who pulled the pin on that grenade. Presenting – Mysterio reveals the existence of multiple universes other than MCU in Far From Home trailer!!
Spider-Man: Fra From Home’s marketing team just released a new clip of the movie on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Quentin Beck otherwise more popularly known as Mysterio, explaining to Peter Parker how the concept of the Multi-Verse works. The situation he explains in the clip also reveals which universe the mainstream MCU belongs to. We are at currently Earth 616, the same mainstream universe counterpart in the comic books. Mysterio then goes on to reveal that he is from another parallel Earth called Earth-833.
Here is the Video Clip we are talking about:
Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck/Mysterio, says this in the video clip:
“There are multiple realities, Peter,” Quentin Beck explains. “This is Earth Dimension-616 and I am from Earth-833. We share identical physical constants level for symmetry.”
Like any sane person would have, the truth of entire universes that exists simultaneously with the current one, with different characters and scores of endless possibilities. Opens up a huge can of worms inside Peter’s mind! He is dumbstruck. But before he could act on the new information and ask more questions, Nick Fury and Maria Hill spoil the mood by interrupting.
“So you’re saying there’s a multiverse? I thought that was theoretical because I mean that completely changes how we understand the initial singularity –“
To be honest, the Multi-Verse concept is not a new thing for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Two movies in the past have already tried to touch upon that subject. In Doctor Strange, the Ancient One tries to explain Stephen Strange the reality of separate universes that share nothing in terms of similarity with ours, co-existing in a multi-dimensional soup with ours.
In Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Quantum Realm tried to do the same, reveal the existence of distinct realities and timelines way more different than the mainstream one. For now, the MCU had only dived into expanding the Universe of superheroes into Outer Space. Now since there would still be no more room left in the future to explore the cold void any further, they are keeping their options open. Maybe in the future, the MCU dives into the Multi-Verse concept to further expand.
The Multi-Verse concept is very interesting. Millions and Billions of realities exist. In some realities, events did not play out as they did in the MCU. There would be some realities where the Avengers did not survive Infinity War and/or Endgame. There might be a reality where Thor actually went for the head. There might also be a universe where Iron Man or Captain America or both, are still alive and very much a part of the Avengers still. The possibilities are truly endless. It all depends on whether Marvel Studios banks on this tremendous opportunity.
Avengers: Endgame was released on the 26th of April, 2019. The official film synopsis of the movie has been released and it states:
“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
