The world of DCEU continues to expand as fans have reacted strongly to all its three releases- Man Of Steel, Batman Vs Superman and Suicide Squad. The lore of Batman has found new life with Ben Affleck playing the titular character of the caped crusader. And with a new standalone film on the way, Batman has now become the talk of the town.
Anne Hathaway, Oscar winner and actress extraordinaire found an association with the DC world when she portrayed Batman villain Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.Although Nolan’s Batman films are not associated with the DCEU,they have been critically claimed for bringing a serious, realistic tone to the Batman universe.

In a recent interview with Variety, Anne Hathaway talked about Catwoman and her interest in reprising the role for DCEU:
“I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her. I’m not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back.”
Although it seems like Anne Hathaway is aware that a new person may take on the role, she still felt lucky to have been part of the world.
“It sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle [Berry] and from Michelle [Pfeiffer], and so I would do that the next time as well.”
As the new Batman has started off as an older, more rough version than we are more used to, Hathaway’s Catwoman may actually fit in with the older superhero. Then again, the character could also work as a standalone movie, but that is still doubtful, given the massive flop of the Halle Berry movie of the same name.Whatever the outcome, it is still great to hear that Hathaway is still very open to reprieve her old role.
